Lucius the Eternal is the ultimate example of the Worf effect in 40k. His entire special power revolves around people beating him, a so-called 'unbeateble duellist' in combat.
Honestly somewhat realistic. Nothing murders duelists faster and more messily than putting them on a battlefield. Dueling and soldiering are vastly different skill sets.
I'm pretty sure that getting Worfed is literally the first canonical appearance of Lucius in anything. The very first time we meet him in the Horus Heresy books he's kicking the shit out of like scrub marines in the training room or whatever, and then he challenges main character guy to a duel just so he can job it out and make the other guy look cool.
I now imagine a story about some dude whos father were possessed by Lucius and dedicate his life to killing him. He learns all about the curse and decides to make his own armor and weapon. He managed to defeat Lucius and then kills himself by destroying his own body in order to stop the cycle before the curse takes full effect.
It is an amazing for a story. If you're interested, it bears some similarities to the TOS episode Lazarus. It's certainly not the same, but similar vibes
I don't get why, but it just makes me so angry. Probably because it doesn't really fit in with the other Primarch names, which are all fairly normal, at least for 40K
@@ParadoxNerdHLM I will say, the name is bad but I did love him as a character and unlikely friendship with Fulgrim. That was great. I definitely prefer his moniker of "The Gorgon" to Ferrus Manus.
I mean, the thing with Lucius is that the person responsible for his death needs to feel some measure of pride for it. So if he just gets trampled to death by a Grox by accident or some shit like that, that would probably do him in for good.
Necrons could EASILY kill Lucius. The mindless Necrons, like Warriors and Flayed Ones feel only hatred and are incapable of satisfaction, and especially Scarabs and other Canoptek units are totally unfeeling. Even the Necrons who DO feel satisfaction could casually kill him, because Necrons as a whole are totally immune to Chaos because they're soulless.
@Mikhail G That literally shouldn't be considered canon, because there are a couple levels on which that is canonically impossible. Plus it's additionally extremely stupid on a at least 3 levels. Feeling satisfaction is the ONLY part of it that meets the requirements. There's some shit in 40k that's SO DUMB that it should just be ignored. Like the novel version of Uriel Ventris, and Nemesis Dreadknights.
@@ieyke You're probably right. Also, I looked it up. That Necron story is in the 8th edition Chaos Codex. To quote it, "not even the Necron's body of living metal can prevent [the strange curse] because it takes a cold pride in victory". Yeah, its bonkers. *_shrug_*

there is actually a homebrew someone wrote where lucius gets eaten by a swarm of tyanids and then because they are all connected and the smart ones have sort of emotions, like the norn queen is proud of her babies and also proud of how efficient her splinter fleet is, and so he resurrects as sort of an entire splinter fleet that is slanesh aligned and has his general vibe of waring skin and nasty tentacles.
Shit, I missed the fact that there was now a Tom and Ben channel. Guess I'll go through and comment on and like all the videos for that all important SEO
Jurassic Park in space is LITERALLY a Dr Who episode. The Silurians took a bunch of dinosaurs from earth to save them from the asteroid, they existed for centuries on this lifeboat & a guy can on and killed the Silurians so that he could sell the dinosaurs to collectors.
I wanted Jurassic Park to be true so badly, but as soon as I heard "Giant Fat Man Planet" I knew it was false XD (I too watched Simons video so knew of it)
Surely if this channel's content is so engaging I have liked and commented on every video it should be higher in the youtube algorithms. Pewdiepie Minecraft Among Us Spiderman Elsa.

@@falleithani5411 nothing kills a duelist better than a landmine
@@woof5082 classic Fencing 101. If you can, landmine
Too be fair I think canonically he hasn't got that many faces on his armour and for a guy that's lived that long is pretty impressive
I see the next phase in the Tom and Ben takeover is coming along nicely.
haha
Ben: Deception exceptional. Execution...also exceptional.

Dude this would actually be a VERY good story.
Then whoever mined the metal for his armour dies, or whoever transported him there, the curse is bullshit
Atlas Infinitum needs to be a real thing, that was amazing premise for a story
It is an amazing for a story. If you're interested, it bears some similarities to the TOS episode Lazarus. It's certainly not the same, but similar vibes
I was sure that the Inquisitor story was the true story. I'm kinda happy it wasn't, because I love the landmine story.
"It's a literal *and* figurative minefield, Ben!"
"That's a cool setting. Now tell me the one about the Chaos guy with the pooping curse" made me laugh so hard I had trouble breathing.
Honestly, Ferrus Manus is one of the dumbest names in any fictional setting
And he's chronically underused. Change the name and give me more mechanical fighty boy and I'd love the Iron Hands

YES FINALLY A TOM AND BEN CHANNEL
I Know Right!!!
I absolutely adore both of these yourhammer ideas. One is just stupid enough for 40k and one is just soooo cool
This is a whole new way to experience warhammer and i love it
I am so glad that these are up as videos. These are so enjoyable to watch and just feel that _"Oh god, Jimmy Space"_ feeling.
It amazes me watching these how bad Ben can be at lying in TTT and how amazing Tom can be at it.

Uhmn actually the tyranids shadow in the warp would prevent that 🤓
I was wondering how long it'd be before Lorehammer was its own uploaded segment
I would love the dinosaur/Necron team-up to make a tabletop appearance.
The Inquistor story seems like something that might come up in an Eisenhorn novel, when Eisenhorn is musing to himself.
this is definitely my new favorite segment

This is very difficult because every inconsistency in the fiction is just business as usual for the black library.
theirs a sister of silence that tries to warn of the heresy basically doing bens time travel story.
how did I not know this channel existed
As soon as I heard that fucking sentence of this planet is very meaty. I immediately knew what he was talking about
I like the Necron story as it is like Moctezuma's zoo. I like the lore when it has allusions to real history.
I think the true way to kill Lucius is to beat him and then commit suicide by venting into space. Who's he gonna possess? The vacuum of space?

Is it possible that the death korps of krieg could safely kill Lucius?
They do make poo lore in herds
