I've had one for a few years. Love it. I reversed the clip [even though it's a reversible clip already]. So, the clip is attached to the body behind the head, locking the zoom to spot. I don't use flood. This works for me. I want to try out their single AAA models, too.
The HX5 is sorely underrated. This has an exceptional throw and great flood for its small size. When I want to grab my Fenix LD30, I remind myself that the HX5 is just as capable, and it’s a simple grab and go light. One click, and you’re illuminated.
You always end up with that odd lone battery love the 1 cell lights I bought same light it aaa it's great little light my store did not have the AA but I just ordered it today
If ur talking about the one in the battery stands usually, they are legit it will surprise the hell out u for 5 dollars.....pull the trigger on that light........then again home Depot is having some deal right now I got a coast 450 for 20 bucks which isn't bad considering it's a 40 dollar light
Had mine for a week and it won't "restart" if it has been on for an hour. It will start ok but if I turn it off, it won't come back on... until tomorrow. Threw it away after smashing it with a hammer.
Had this light for a while and worked good for another light when I thought it stopped working. The new light seems to not turn on or it turns on occasionally with new batteries. Not sure if it’s something to do with the spring. Anyone have any solutions?
I sometimes believe that a lot of people tend to forget in the scheme of things the true purpose of flashlights...I notice all the flashlights that can go into the thousands of lumens and they are cool and useful but I asked myself when is it to much?..when are flashlights not a lighting tool but more of toys for big boys..I use all of my lights I own..from my 100 lm max all the way to my 3000 lm max they are all useful.
@@OMADRevolution I just run my coast hx5 with normal AA for general purpose...If I'm in the mood for single AA sized light that's really bright ill use either my jet beam jet1 480 max lm or my klarus mi7 which is is 700 max lm both of those run on 14500 batteries.
I bought the (newish?) Polysteel 700, because it came with the magnetic base, had side COBs, a focusable beam, and lasted 40 hours on low. Its my personal light for home use, my emergency light in my car, and my work light when I travel for business (I work in rail). It's great, but it's also big. I'm looking at this, and a few other coast lights, for an EDC I can use in more personal endeavors, like when I run sound and need to crawl under the stage, or just need something to move about at home.
I have this light, Coast has the best zoom beam of all zoom lights I have known of. Coast has some of the best store lights in my opinion.

The best review I've seen on this torch to date. A nice, simple, effective product. Thanks.

I the camo AA light from Tractor Supply and they have the AAA G22 light good lights but PWM on low modes is cheap. I run L91 & L92 cells in my lights.

I use this light a lot. Love it still!
You deserve more subscribers. I wonder how good the $4.99 Eveready light at Walmart is?

2nd coast light i have bought that just randomly quit working.. even with new batteries
Dang. I've had better luck, I guess.
Excellent flashlight woks with AA or 14500....only thing I wish it had was a high and low function.....most of the time you don't need full lumens....
But at this low lumen output, you don't need a low(er).
Great review!

Not a perfect switch on this model. But basic signaling works fine. If you mash it hard, it can stop it from flickering.

Yeah, just drop a 14500 in this and it packs more punch and happens to be bright enough for all practical purposes.

Well, they are just a store-bought light. I only use mine for momentary.
@@ChalliceofLight would you recommend any flashlights?
@@Mazdatree Fenix, Cyansky, and Armytek, mostly. The ones I reviewed on this channel.
