I know! I love Wuben's designs, but I need them to make more high CRI versions. I'm still rocking my TO46R, it's been bulletproof for all these years. But I'm looking for some more modern high CRI lights, too.
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV Ah didn't know that, still good deal for 40 bucks. Honestly I like a cool white for seeing in the woods and stuff, but for reading and a little table lamp for camping warmer high cri is better. Maybe wuben will make another model with warmer emitters. You usually lose some lumens though. X2 is available with 5k emitters. I've got 4500k rovyvon and it's a beautiful floody beam, but not super bright. Still one of my favorite lights- the titanium angel eyes. The Owl x3 had the decent Samsungs too, but the output was really weak, and turbo stepped down ridiculously fast. I just hope it's not the same emitter as G2 those are really cool white, think they're p9.
This is what we want the option to swap in new batts when they start to go. Im liking this . Bit like the loop sk05 . Some great innovation at last. Been a bit stagnant lately.
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV that's cool. Saw it on Kickstarter. It appears to tick a lot of boxes . Including being a decent battery back. Wanted the SS sk03 with 519 but put off by the lockout.

Very nice video. My first look at how this light will perform. I was in early on this kickstarter. I hope this one runs smoother than the last one. That one was a train wreck. Maybe they've learned something about logistics from all of that.
I do have one on order through the Kickstarter release. So although you may not be wild about it, at least you do not seem particularly satisfied. I like the ability to use eneloops as a backup. Plus I hope this in some way reminds me of a BSA (Boy Scout) side by side 2 x AA I carried long before LEDs were around.
I ordered one when they launched the campaign, but the more I see reviews, the more I think they need to refine this a lot. It feels like they are trying to do too many things without doing any of them well. 20˚ of angle change on the side? Weird! I wish all flashlights at least went up to a medium setting while charging. It could be an emergency!
@travislupum I have a small but epic supra2nv Glow sand timer, I'd be awesome if they made a large fancy timer. Made from glass and bronze with 1.5mm slots in the frame! Expensive but amazing.
I always enjoy your reviews. Definitely a trick piece of kit. Would be cool to see something like this but with an 18650 or two for more juice. Not my cup of tea, but would be a cool talking piece or muggle gift.
Wuben is claiming 2000mAh for the 14500 cells, decent amount, but my experience they don’t last very long. 18650 is still one of the best power cells 2000-3600 mAH is hard to beat. Like I said, nice piece of equipment, talking point and plenty of bling. 21700 totally different category. The X1 is a serious flashlight/bikelight
A nice light, very gadget laden. Just missing a green laser really or UV. I have the Wurkkos HD01 and that has the laser along with the great flood side light...and some silly fun multicolour modes which my nephew loves. :) Might still get this though when Amazon throw some discount at it like usual. :)
I was thinking how cool it would be to remove the 2 frontal center emitters and instead of them to install for example uv light and green laser, and at the expense of this to raise the maximum brightness of flood and spot for example up to 800 lumens.
It's not powerful light, but i like it. I hate watching your reviews, always ends up costing money 😂 Looking at the Nitecore EDC29, not got any nitecore flashlights yet, looks like a good starting point. I only wish we could get a distributor here in the UK, so we dont have to wait 2 weeks for the items to arrive. Great review again, another to add to my list.👍👍
The Nitecore EDC29 only has an IPX54 rating* and I prefer having a moonlight, even though the low is a useful level. I will no longer buy anything lower than an IPX5 and I prefer IPX7 or better yet IPX8. I was doing some cleanup outside and just got hit by rain with my Arkfeld Ultra in my pocket. I wanted to get some palm fronds and banana leaved in the trash bin for pickup on Monday, before a potential visit by the second batch of rain via Hurricane Milton. The other night I had it on the bill of my cap while unloading the vacuum and my face and the Arkfeld Ultra felt dusty. I washed both. [*Always verify such assertions yourself, if it is important to you, but I recall seeing that mentioned in a video and checked myself.]
205m beam distance is very disappointing! I expected at least 340 meters. The upcoming Edc 29 from Nitecore provides 400m of throw plus a lot of flood, so I will wait for the edc29!
Well in all fairness the nitrcore is 110 dollars and this is 40. I've got a banger thrower in my wurkkos TS11- 616 meter throw. But this looks like a very nice all around light and the throw distance isn't that bad for the lens array.

Actually now that I have mine in my hands the thing is built like fort Knox. It's actually pretty damn heavy even without the cells- for a flashlight. Wish the selection slider was stiffer, but the main button is pretty good. Really nice flashlight, but would be better with hi cri lens, even if it was the side light. I also with you could change the power of the rgb led. And have a bigger adjustment angle. Also more power would be cool. But the build quality is really nice and for 35 dollars it's a hell of a light. I don't know what the retail price will be but they could charge more.
