I've had this idea for months now and was so excited to finally be able to edit it! I was hoping so badly for a good back history for the darkling and we got it!! I added some other scenes too though cause they fit so well 👀

My God I have chills down my spine. You chose the perfect song as a background for Darkling scenes. Never heard it before but I am going to play it on loop from today and envision Darkling. Your Video Mix is haunted, hopelessly chilling, full of agony and vengeance. Same as Darkling's life. The most complicated character I've had the fortune to see on television and ofcourse played by the magnetic Ben Barnes. So it's magnificence upon magnificence. I was having withdrawal symptoms after watching Shadow & Bone. I think I am ruined for another show right at the moment. Nothing seems to look watchable after seeing Darking & Ben Barnes. And man your Video just ruined me for another Video Mix. I was looking for a Video Mix with only Darkling scene like an addict hungry for a fix and you just made my wish come true. You fixed me darling. You captured the Darkling's agony so beautifully that I am bawling my eyes out. this is gorgeous, stunning, and gives such an exemplary backstory as to how the world pushed him into the role of villain when all he wanted was to create a safe haven for his people. i love that you included the line where baghra states that none of them are as strong as "the summoners" - so it really does fall to them to protect their people - and louis is perfect as a fancast for young ben, not to mention this is the darkling's song - he owns it.
it's a little disappointing that the writers chose to go the route of the books and shunt the darkling into a villain role instead of giving him the redemption he deserves - the fold was created out of grief and despair and desperation since he knew that even surrendering himself to their armies wouldn't guarantee his people's safety, so he had to transform the army into otherness and the fold was a consequence of that - ever since, he's just been doing what he feels he has to in order to keep his people protected; that even though he's whispered about with the terms darkling and black heretic, he shoulders that burden of being seen as someone to be feared when really he's been isolated and abandoned and hunted (not only because he's a grisha, and one of the most powerful grisha at that, but even as a child, they wanted to kill him to use his corpse for an amplifier) - darkling deserves to either get redeemed, or at least understood, if they go the book route OR I'll take him finally getting alina to see his side and the two rule together bc canon? what canon?
