Almost Blasting Myself Into Low Earth Orbit // Building an HHO Generator and Torch

  • In today's episode of my shenanigans I finally figure out how to make the HHO generator. I also build the torch and put the whole thing together. This was my first attempt at building an HHO generator, and I definitely learned a boat load about how HHO generators and cells work. I'm planning on building a second version of this soon, so make sure you're subscribed so you don't miss out on it!

    You need a better flashback arrestor.
    Stuff stainlesssteel wool in a tube. 👍🏼

    If you put a brass net into the torch this will stop the back fire , this is a kinda of a flashbackarrestor. So do it and your bubbler won´t explode again.And for the conduttor you can also use water with bicarbonate, because bicarbonate contains salt and salt is a good conduttor . so mix each liter of water with 100g of bicarbonate. And for safety do not use a glass jar ,that is really dangerous.

      Thanks for the input! I've been testing different things as a flashback arrestor and found that brass wool with an aquarium air stone works really well, I haven't had any flashbacks since. And I'm using potasium hydroxide as an electrolyte now which seems to be working quite well. You're definitely right about the glass jar though, rookie mistake😂

    Hey man good videos im building hho generators too and a good homemade flashback device i made is... In a 6imch pipe you fill it up with 2 inch of sand then 2 inch of crushed glass then 2 inch of sand hold everything with screens in both sides and you will never have an explotion again good luck amd sorry for my grammar peace bro👍

      I'll try that some time! I've started using brass wool and aquarium air stones with decent success. Have a good one bro✌️

    Steel wool not good can burn use brass wool for arrestor. What voltage and amps you're putting in?. Thks for sharing.

    • @Neally
      @Neally  3 года назад

      My power supply puts out 12v @ 30amps, but I don't think it actually draws the full 30, although I haven't measured it so who knows 🤷

    I've done HHO dry cell and with my bubbler you have to have enough water inside the bubbler so you don't have that much of an area of gas to make an explosion when it does back flash also if you can make it that the torch tube disconnects from the bubbler easily then if there's a backflash the pressure will be released by disconnecting the tube by the way where did you buy the canister to lock lid canister for the cells

      I got the cannister from Walmart, it's a 2 liter one if I remember correctly. And thank you for the advice! I'm working on a new system, and I plan on putting in place more safety measures. I want to put in a kind of pressure membrane that breaks when there's a flashback so the pressure releases that way, I also put in air stone filters (the ones used in aquariums) in the torch body and that seems to have stopped the backfires completely(I haven't had any since putting them in)

    What about connecting a check valve to the end of the bubbler?

    • @Neally
      @Neally  3 года назад +1

      I've come up with a flashback arrestor inside the torch body in my newer model, that seems to be doing the trick. I think the problem with a check valve would be that it would have to be rated for the flow and pressure of the gas for it to work properly. I'll Definitely look into it in the future though, it's a really good idea

    These stainless type units do NOT seal with the gasket set up you have, the clamp does not provide enough pressure to seal it... Put soapy bubble liquid around the top you'll see hho leak out... If not spew out... Thom in Scotland.

    • @Neally
      @Neally  2 года назад

      I haven't had any leak issues whatsoever, even when the outlet was plugged and the cell was building pressure. Maybe its because the steel frame distributes the pressure evenly over the gaskets, I'm not sure. I appreciate the input though!

      Hi, not putting a dampener on this, but notice the flame is small, it can be seen, heard Pulsing, = obstacles, the wire wool, the water by bubbler, all cause back pressure, build up, try to put lots of soapy washing liquid round the stainless gasket.... Try it... And say, show, no problem then... I'm sure you'll see for you're self... Thom in Scotland.
