This song is the theme song of me and my girlfriend. Remember listening to this song in casette tape over the phone. Now she is my wife, and now listening to it together with our two kids.
That makes me happy to hear Don. I'm 37 now and have a 12yr old daughter and she loves all the music I love too(for the most part lol). I was 12 or so when I first got the Siamese Dream tape cassette. It was my favorite thing I had ever heard at that time and is still my favorite album. Good luck to you and your family.
Siamese Dream is one of the finest examples of 90s rock. I love this album so much, it’s easily one of the best albums to come out that decade. If you like the way his voice sounds and the way he kind of breathes out the words, listen to Soma from this album. It’s brilliant.
Yeah, Siamese dream was epic, honestly I found Mellon Collie to be their best all around, that album is in the same realm of The Wall or The Doors as among the single greatest albums ever produced, a nigh perfect achievement.
@@andrewhussey4538 Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness goes up there with Zeppelin IV, The Wall, and Morrison Hotel. You really need all four discs to truly appreciate what they accomplished as far as musical storytelling.
I’m so glad hummer was never made a single. It’s such a gem for everyone who actually listened to full albums. I mean shit this album is my favorite of the decade and really ranks up there as far as I’m concerned. But yeah. This was my favorite track the first day I got the album. And let’s not forget Pisces Iscariot...the b-sides to this album were an amazing album on their own.
Right at the HS/college cusp. This came out in July '93? I graduated HS May-ish? '93, started college August same year. Big transition time. So many memories rushing back in a whirlwind! This album meant so much.

They aren't underrated junior... They are the fuckin Smashing Pumpkins.. they made double-albums ... they even made a triple-album if I remember correctly....
My Dad was a teenager during the Pumpkins peak and loved this band. I was born in 98 and growing up he always played this album as well as the Mellon Collie album in his truck. So, everytime I listen to them, and especially this song, I always feel so nostalgic and get those memories of being a kid. It's beautiful. Music is beautiful.

Ahhh 1994..brings back sooo many great memories. Fresh outta High school Living downtown Orlando with my band members. Practiced in the living room. The gigs, the parties, the girls and good times.
The word 'Underated ' appears often in these comments- probably because it's so true with this band. This song is probably my favourite ever song, even with stiff competition from all other songs on the planet that rock from geniuses such as Zeppelin, Beatles, Hendrix, Chili Peppers etc, I still come back to this one song and it never gets old!
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. It brings me back to being a child in the early 90's, looking up to my older sister, who was a budding teen at the time. I'm 33 now. ('Thirty Three' being another favorite Pumpkins song of mine, seriously, look up Thirty Three, amazing song by the Pumpkins) My sister was hard into the grunge scene and by extension, so was I. This song speaks my youth to me.
The Smashing Pumpkins are my all-time favourite band. Their body of work is amazing to see, especially the transformations over time. But for me, the best part of SP in the 90s was their aesthetic, the imagery they used for their videos and photos are what inspired my own creativity in art and beyond.
Just a brilliant album, a brilliant decade for this band. Glad that i was alive and growing up with this music. If any band needs lyric videos- it's this one. Billy is an incredible poet on top of all of his other talents.
I first jumped on the Smashing Pumpkins bandwagon when I saw "I am One" on MTV'S 120minutes while I was stationed in England. Mayonaise is my all time fave of theirs.

Fool enough to almost be it
Cool enough to not quite see it
Doomed
Pick your pockets full of sorrow
And run away with me tomorrow
June
We'll try and ease the pain
But somehow we'll feel the same
Well, no one knows
Where our secrets go
I send a heart to all my dearies
When your life is so, so dreary
Dream
I'm rumored to the straight and narrow
While the harlots of my perils
Scream
And I fail
But when I can, I will
Try to understand
That when I can, I will
Mother weep the years I'm missing
All our time can't be given
Back
Shut my mouth and strike the demons
That cursed you and your reasons
Out of hand and out of season
Out of love and out of feeling
So bad
When I can, I will
Words defy the plan
When I can, I will
Fool enough to almost be it
And cool enough to not quite see it
And old enough to always feel this
Always old, I'll always feel this
No more promise no more sorrow
No longer will I follow
Can anybody hear me
I just want to be me
When I can, I will
Try to understand
That when I can, I will

Such a beautiful masterpiece. Can't ever get enough of this song
This is such an underrated song. It's one of their best, if not THE best.
Siamese Dream is still my favourite album, over 25 years after I first heard it in high school. Love seeing other folk find out how great it is.
Wow ..Brother thank you for these....😊🙂
I haven't listened in a while and had forgotten my love for SP..☺
What a great treat you gave us🤗👍👍
Here 3 years later that I still love Smashing Pumpkins and this channel.
...it literally brings a tear to my eye...wonderful album
Thank you for having an open mind my brother, sound track to my teen years! Thank u 4 showing my pumpkins love. Rock on brother!
Billy is a fantastic songwriter. Thanks for those great SPs reactions.
Every time I hear this album it takes me back to being a kid in the 90’s, more so than any other music.
I still have this CD, the entire album is still one of my favorites
The Smashing Pumpkins are my all-time favourite band. Their body of work is amazing to see, especially the transformations over time. But for me, the best part of SP in the 90s was their aesthetic, the imagery they used for their videos and photos are what inspired my own creativity in art and beyond.
Just a brilliant album, a brilliant decade for this band. Glad that i was alive and growing up with this music. If any band needs lyric videos- it's this one. Billy is an incredible poet on top of all of his other talents.
My all time, even now fav song!!! “When I can, I will!!” Love this video and the appreciation of “THE JAM!!”♥️🙏🏽
Cant believe you did my favorite song of all time...I needed this kind sir..thank you so much
This song is the reason I’ve been playing guitar since ‘94.
I first jumped on the Smashing Pumpkins bandwagon when I saw "I am One" on MTV'S 120minutes while I was stationed in England. Mayonaise is my all time fave of theirs.
2 years later, thanks for making my Halloween a little brighter
"SOMA" (🎸 solo 🔥) / "Geek Lover USA" / "ZERO" 🙏👍🍻
Hell yes ZERO!!
I forgot how incredibly much I love the smashing pumpkins
Such an Epic from my childhood.
You just chillin to this song brought so many good memories back lol!!!
Cheers bro!
This song never fails to give me goosebumps and make me dream and high a bit since 1990s
Taking me back to high school this Halloween... Thanks for this Jamel! Love it! ✌❤
LOVE this album!! The infinite sadness album is awesome too! “Through the eyes of Ruby” and “muzzle” are unbelievable songs!
I love the smashing pumpkins, i miss the 90's...😭
This whole album is amazing. One of my all time favorites. Takes me back to my youth. Wish I could go back.
Love watching people get immersed in music.
I remember the first time I heard this song. Bought a guitar a week later.
One of the best songs ever written
