I actually had this video many years ago! My first Panic show was Haloween night at Roseland Ballroom in NYC in 1991 I believe. They opened the show for Blues Traveler. I was on the Panic guest list where we had a meet and greet with the band before the show. I had only been listening to them for a couple months at that time. I remember distinctly that JB and Sunny came out first and JB looked around and said "What, no beer? Hold on a second" and a minute later he comes back with a giant cooler full of cold ones! Lol. We also later on snuck our way into some private room in the catacombs of the old place and smoke some weed them and John Popper too if I remember correctly. Great memories! RIP Mikey and Todd...
I had a very strange event happen to me. I quit my job in Greenville, SC and went to Colorado. I got to meet Mr. Casserole! Good times, and greatful to this day!
In 1991 I saw Widespread in Columbus Ohio. I had no idea who they were, in fact I saw the name on the marquee and thought it was heavy metal. 'Something different" I thought. Well, I had just finished a kind fat doobie in the car and as I pulled oped the big double doors at the Newport with both hands the music began with drums ( I think "makes sense to me" or "picking up the pieces" can't remember but it was perfectly timed to my opening of the doors. Still one of the best shows I ever saw. EDIT: I just looked it up. I think it was actually 1993 and the song was "Love Tractor" yep the longer drum bit in the beginning. Ok going to listen to that now. See ya!
I was living in Athens and got a ticket to this. If I recall this was the night that ARU recorded their live album and Widespread filmed/recorded multiple takes of a few songs. I've never seen this video, great stuff. Pre-Jo Jo.
......pure pAniC..this is a sure testament of that...We were so young..my gratitude to the person that loaded this on tube..Beautiful people and a great time..Love you WSP ❤️
That’s me in there on the floor (26:31) with my friend Stacy B. , Banging my head wearing a stealie shirt. This took multiple takes so we had to dance on que so to speak. They had a flyover camera too. Excellent times!!!
Was this shot/directed by Billy Bob Thornton? I remember there was a video for purchase at one of the Athens record shops back in mid 90s - Widespread Panic at the Georgia Theater 1991 directed by Billy Bob Thornton
I was camera assistant on the live from the GA Theater that Billy Bob directed. Good times. I was living in Athens during the Uptown lounge years and was a fan from the beginning.
Mikey standing up :)
He did for years, actually
