Lovely review Kelan, and you're my go to guy for classic fragrances. You and MrSmelly1977. Your classic fragrances content is superb. I have already bought this one from your recommendation 2 years ago, together with Giorgio Beverly Hills for Men and Lomani Pour Homme. I saw your video on affordable Classic Scents for Men back in 2021 and I went and blind bought them and man oh man do I love these Gems...
I'm not sure any men's fragrance is as strong as the bottle of Giorgio for Men from Giorgio of Beverly Hills I bought in the 1980's! I still have about a third left along with 2 five year old bottles. The current version has some staying power but isn't the oakmoss bomb of 40 years ago!
i bought this one on your recommendation a over a year ago. It certainly struck me as a vintage smell on first try. It's now my daily go-to, there's still some left and i use it most days. last all day. smells great, very vintage very masculine.
Great job as always, wore this the other day...a classic! I remember seeing this in department stores in the 80's, always gave me the impression it was some kind of 'next level' fragrance. Upscale from Drakkar, Azzaro and Quorum.
Great review Kellan👊🏼it’s awesome that these reviews will reach guys that missed out on this when it came out in the 80’s.. thank you for helping keep alive this amazing fragrance!
Someone wants 10K subscribers, LOL! Seriously though, I do really like that your choices for men's colognes to review. Bijan Men is like you said "Iconic" and it is one of my favorites. Side note: They are charging $360 for this on the official website, no joke ( I think it goes for $25 everywhere else) and forget about their clothing line! This fragrance is beautiful. This, although there are a lot of notes , is a clove bomb (in a good way), and very masculine. It is rough at first but it dries down into a very nice smooth scent. There really aren't many men's scents that go as fearlessly masculine as this.
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Yeah, really! The same is done on Ebay. They try to charge insane prices for some stuff, I guess just to see who will fall for it......
I just checked their site and that $360 price is there! Someone has got to email Bijan and tell them that Bijan for Men is licensed and distributed by 5 Star Fragances which is owned by Perfumania Holdings, Inc. Perfumania only charges $25 for the 2.5 oz bottle! I bought it from them 5 years ago for about $10!
Kelan, I agree that "Bijan for Men" is one of the better inexpensive fragrances from the 1980s which is on the market these days. I think it's better than "Zino" and "Jaguar for Men", for example.
Hi Kelan. I enjoyed wearing "Bijan for Men" within the past few months. Over a year ago, you influenced me to get a bottle of it, and I appreciate having it in my collection. I think that it's a masculine, floral fragrance which somewhat reminds me of Roja Parfums "Creation-E" and Robert Graham "Fortitude", only it smells like it is from the 1980s and it is not as good as the other two fragrances. I think it is a good fragrance, especially for its price: I think I might have bought mine for about $10. At first, I didn't feel like I would wear it, but now I like to wear it sometimes.
From what I remember back in the day that was a high dollar fragrance only available in the Bijan boutiques. So weird how time goes by, they go out of favor, and it's $15 with a free coupon for a corn dog if you buy a bottle. Bijan isn't my style but of course I appreciate what it is and I'm glad you revisited the bottle. It's one of those powerhouse classics that just lingers on your clothes, lingers on the shelf.
i ordered bijan like 2 or 3 years ago, and i was living in a town called bellport on long island. the back gate to my apartment complex led out into an office/industrial park. i get the bottle of bijan and read the sticker......five star fragrances, bellport NY haha. so it was made walking distance from my apartment but i waited a week. want to see something hilarious? bijans known as a super cheapie.....but go check how much they sell it for on Bijans website...and yes its the same one lol
In the 80s Fortune or Forbes had an article about Bijan the man and he was pictured with the fragrance boasting about how expensive the bottle was to make and that it was the most expensive fragrance in the world. What a surprise to see it as a cheapie now after 40 years.
That’s funny because on the actual Bijan website the scent is sold for over $300 lol which is ridiculous because anywhere else online it’s $20 or under
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey lol, wow. Actually heard that the son is now in the middle of revamping the business and making it an exclusive brand again. Let's see!
5 Star along with Parlux are subsidiaries of Perfumania where I bought my bottle of Bijan for about $10 five years ago. I haven't worn it in awhile but I remember it as sort of perfumey and very strong, with a really nice dry down. Don't use Fragrantica for notes, They're often wrong and list loads of notes voted on by forum members. According to Basenotes, there are 11 notes for Bijan: Top Notes bergamot, rosemary, lavender Heart Notes nutmeg, vetiver, patchouli, sandalwood Base Notes musk, amber, oakmoss, vanilla
To me, the modern version is like a mix of amber and the bottom of a kitchen spice cabinet. 😆 And I keep mentioning that I get this fresh parsley vibe that nobody else seems to get? It really has that woody herbal edge though. Plus the bottle always reminded me of a pacifier. 👶 But it still has more character and presence than most designers marketed today. Not a bad buy at all!
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey It's gotta be my 2015 bottle then. 😄 Batch #5135. Bit unusual, but unique. Quite a few flankers in the line too! There was a blue one I remember that looked kinda cool.
No I haven’t, mainly because I’m almost positive I wouldn’t like it, it’s supposed to be like eros from what I’ve seen and if I did review it I know I’d slam the fragrance and I’d rather not buy it just to have it sit around. All of that is based on my personal scent preference so if you like it then By all means enjoy it
To my memory ... back in the day this colonge was only available at the house of Bijan and rather pricey. Bijan Pakzad was a designer from Iran and popular around the same time as the Giorgio of Beverly Hills era was. All 80's California stuff. Not sure if the colonge on their website is the same as the cheapie. On the website its $360 a bottle. To my nose I get a incense vibe which I like.
The actual Bijan website still sells this for $360 it’s crazy I doubt anyone buys it for that price at all when it’s sold on discount sites for 20 bucks lol
I see this one as you see Zino. I get a strong peppery note that rubs me the wrong way. The hole in the bottle shows where the missing ingredient belongs that would make this a decent scent.
I’m an older guy. I’ve been wearing this since it first came out. It was expensive back in the day but much cheaper than Bijan’s clothing. They have many other iterations that I have either owned and wore or wanted. I especially liked and miss the D.N.A. Version. Discontinued and missed! I like this one and I have several bottles.
I have this. Makes me smell like a God. Always getting compliments on it. I’ve been wearing it during summer and man o man, crushing nostrils left right and centre
I thought this was going to smell like or similar to Pierre cardin cologne spray for men. 😅 I almost bought it thinking that. I personally actually love LOVE Pierre cardin cologne spray.
Wtf? Your sprayer is wayyy better than mine and also BEAST performance?! It lasts like Drakkar on me so 4-5h MAX. I must have gotten some reformulated crap cuz even my box looks a little bit different even though it's also 75ml and by Five Star :( Btw. it was first released in 1981 :) oh and it has been confirmed by one person who managed to ask Sly Stallone what's his signature fragrance and apparently he keeps wearing Bijan since the early 80s :)
They might as well put pink paint and multi-color sprinkles to just get the donut presentation down. I couldn’t get into this one. Smelled like peanuts. Pass. Love all the content lately. Would love to see a re-review of Lacoste Original.
Peanuts loll I don’t get that at all thankfully god that would be horrible. And Lacoste original? I made the review about 7 months ago lol I’ll send you the link
