Really looking forward to see what you do with the standalone version. The F-104 pit not only looks good for a mod, it looks as good if not better than some official paid modules.
Great that you like it. Fm will get the next Update with standalone (pitch-up redone once more in regards to speed following NASA-data and induced structural damage due to over-g)
You might be right. It is coded as a function of side-slip vs. G-Force. In the DCS plane-environment the forces are divided in regards to the plane, so vertical-acceleration (felt Gs) vs. Sideways-acceleration. Yaw will have an effect on that "instrument" too, since it is a Metall ball in a slightly rounded glass-tube ;-)
Great that you like it. We would like to really get the standalone out "feature complete". That will take a while since a lot of coding work is to be done. I hope we can manage this fall, but I can't make promisses, since it is a lot to do still.
Great work. i know you must get this all the time, but i have to ask. Is there any plans or current work, on giving the F-105 this same level of treatment?
Short answer: Plans -> yes! will we get it to the same level -> possibly not quite as good, but we'll see. My Plan is to have 104+105+ F4 together with the upcoming AH-1G from ViolentNomad and the UH-1H from ED as the perfect lineup for a vietnam-style map and lots of interesting cold-war scenarios...
That was a spectacular job you've all done. I love this airplain but this mod has big problem: cockpit shake when afterburn is activated, also shake at high speed, high angle of attack, high G load... While in real it NEVER shake, in fact it was installed APC (automatic pitch control) to simulate shaker on stick to allert pilot. In clear payload: full AB, take off, at 450kts pitch up 40-45°. During climb it should accelerate and reach mach 1.
Do you have flown a 104 yourself? Nasa-Data says buffeting got intersting above 10° AoA. Igniting the AB should have lead to slight Vibrations. But we could have overdone it a bit regarding buffeting and ab-vibrations. If so, we'll tune them down a bit ;-)
@@paulstich3053 - I hope this video (linked in this comment) will change your minds 😁. I am not pilot BUT 😏, I watched ALL video where ex F-104S pilots talk about the airplane. 😁I wrote what I heard from the pilots in the videos. On the link in this comment, you can see TF-104G (double sets) doesn't shake in all the flight (exception for the rear cam), in particolar at min 26:30 during approching to land, pilot didn't perceive the high AoA because airplane didn't shake. APC indicator went to full scale and mechanism activated shaker on stick. Only in that moment pilot realized. However, in virtual I think that a "LITTLE shake cockpit" is good option in place of "stick shaker" (but only when full scale of APC indicator! 😄), because in virtual is impossible to feel "stick shaker" so it would be impossible to maneuvre to the limit without going in spin. @@bergomynkia just watched the vid. There is a noticable difference in shown oscillations between the camera facing front and the one facing backwards. I guess the one facing front is stabilized, the other one isn't. The input I got from a Former 104 Pilot was, that there are always slight Vibrations, which get worse when entering buffeting. AB increases those slight Vibrations in later 104 models just slightly in early 104s a lot. So I'll revisit AB and speed-shake and detune buffeting-shake slightly ;-)
@@bergomynkia I would always be careful when pilots are talking about their memories 🙂 With every year and every beer aircraft could fly higher, faster, pull more g's. Transsonic acceleration: some say the F-104 accelerated quick and smooth (especially the TF 2-seaters). Other pilots described how they even had to dive to go more easily through mach 1 when practising intercepts. Maybe that was with tip tanks and AIM-9s? The F-104 intake is designed to be most efficient around mach 1.6. So I would not be too surprised if it struggles around Mach 1.
Hi. The F-104C/G/S and NF-104A is FC3 based, so you'll need the F15C to use it. The (slightly fictional) F-104S_AG is SU-25T based. Since the SU-25T is free, at least that version should be usable for everyone.
Should not crash the game anymore. ED fixed the MT-Bug that made DCS crash on certain user-MODS. Should work fine now. If game still crashes, please reinstall the mod.
Great work, VSN! I love her! Thanks so much!
I hear the Starfighter is going standalone like the F-4B/C?!!
Einfach geil!! ❤
Yes. F-104 will get standalone status with partly clickable cockpit. Of course, everything needs time ;-)
Oh! Please take your time! I am more than willing to wait for excellence! 🤩
The F-4 was already the most pleasant surprise of the year! 😍
Fantastic work! It just keeps getting better and better.
Yes, the new pit is a pretty big step ahead. Next stop clickable and standalone ;-)
I like these old cockpits
Danke für diesen spitzen Mod!! Ich fliege nichts anderes mehr, das Ding macht süchtig 🤩🤩🤩 weiter so! 👍
Wow. Looking fantastic. Now I just need to learn how to fly it without ending up in a 1000G death spin when dogfighting :D.

Best cockpit I saw in a DCS mod - great work
Absolutely love it!
You guys are great thank you a million
Well done! Keep going, guys! Don't forget about FM...

Nice tour; not sure I agree with you about the slip indicator during turns. Moving the ball will be a function of yaw, not g forces.

beautiful...

Great mod!
Is that actually a Junghans Clock from german WWII warbirds on the top left of the front panel? Interesting. Is that accurate?
Superb work!! :)
Excellent work again. Really enjoying the F104. Do you have a time plan of updates?

Would you share the mesh geo? In particular the throttle quadrant? Would love to 3D print the throttle grip
