This video is an in-depth description of my multi-step process of crimping the ends of a necklace or bracelet. It also discusses crimp bead covers and how to put them on as well as alternative ways to crimp your crimp beads.
Many people have difficulty making their crimp hold securely, they complain that they come loose or slip off. Here are my tricks to make it work.
Once you learn how to crimp you can end or finish off any jewelry made on jewelry beading wire.
It is our first video ever, we apologize for any filming flubs.

@ariellynn33 I have been trying to think of what other kinds of videos I can do in 7 minutes that would be detailed enough. Thanks for the feedback. I am working on it and would love more ideas on what people want to see.

HI this is LindaDarnell from beginners jewelry grp yahoo... i wanted to add you to my friends on here. Your video is awesome. I knew crimping was detailed but wow ...I wanted to know do you use the same kind of cutting tool for gold/silver wire but a SEPERATE 'same' kind of tool or a whole different tool together. Perhaps you could show us how you work with silver/gold wire? Thankyou for giving your time.

Great video. I do have a question regarding the loop you made where you attached the chain...do you leave the wire loop uncovered? I know some use wire guards and crimps. Thanks for taking the time to make these video's

thanks Szarka, I watched this before but lost the link to this youtube video. Your methods are simple and easy. I have always thought one crimp didn't seem enough, they have caused much angst but I am right now with them. thanks again! J.

Thanks for all the kind words. The cutters I talked about for your gold, sterling, copper wire etc is a flush cutter. It will leave a straight cut, or more straight than other cutters so you do not have a sharp edge left when done wire wraping. I plan on doing a few videos on wire in the future.

Thanks so much for sharing... I had some trouble with crimp beads breaking under the crimp squeezer.... so now I know it was due to the angle.... I'll try to improve now... Thanks a lot again ...

The issue I have, and have yet to find an answer to, is how to finish a necklace once I've put the crimp on one side. Keeping the other side tight, or at least flush, never works for me and I end up with my beads sliding along the too loose wire. It's too annoying!!

I haven't tried them yet and hear some people LOVE them and some don't. My hunch is the size of wire people use more often or do you find that doesn't matter much?

Oh very good question it can be hard to get that technique down. I will put it on the list for tutorials to do soon. Right now we are building a new website which is taking all of our spare time but once that is done I will get on it.

Hi Aunt Johnnie thanks. These were custom made 20 years ago. I bought all he had and sold them all a few months ago. He said we would have to do a minimum run of 200 and since I was not willing to buy that many we decided not to have them made. I put it out there to my clients and only about 10 people said they would buy them. So unless I get a large number of people agreeing to I don't see them being made. They are pricey too for crimps, they run aboput $25 a pair!

Nice video and exactly how I used to do my crimps. Now I use the Magic Crimp tool, which turns the 2x2 crimp tube into a 2x2 sphere, thereby eliminating the need for a cover while creating a very polished look. I use 2 tubes as well for extra hold. It looks great, it's a seamless look and it's VERY secure. Don't know how I lived with out it. :) But your video is the method I would suggest otherwise.

I have heard of some people using a surgeons knot to finish off necklaces but I've never tried it.
