Nope, not just you. At least the sith are more honest about their intentions than the Jedi
I prefer the Sith code aswell. If I was initiated as a Jedi I would probably leave the order as I don't agree with their philosophy in shutting themselves in.
I think the only fault of the sith is that their leaders let their lust for power consume them which corrupted them. However, I see nothing inherently evil about the sith code. It is about achieving power and through that power, you break free of your limitations which hold you back.

Both the Sith Code and the Jedi Code have problems that limit their ability to grow in the Force. If I were Force Sensitive, I would follow the unofficial code:

Man this music takes me back to my childhood. I loved Kotor 1 and 2. I still have both those games and a working Xbox so I can play them.
If you have a solid enough PC, I highly suggest purchasing them. Dirt cheap on Steam. The modding community is strong with these two. And a modding group I'm proud to be a part of is working to reconstruct all the cut content of KOTOR 2.

***** I would strongly urge you to try the Restored Content mod for KOTOR 2, sir ! It is absolutely impressive, it really makes KOTOR 2 stand on par with KOTOR 1, which is no small feat given how absurdly awesome that one is.
ColonelSmoke Having played both recently, and KOTOR 2 with the restored content patch 1.8.3 + M4-78 Droid Planet, I can easily say KOTOR 2 > KOTOR 1, however they are both masterpieces and a must have if you like videogames and Star Wars
1.) Vader: Most powerful in terms of sheer Force ability. 2.) Revan: Most strategically minded. 3.) Sideous: Most thought out and successful, but ultimately, flawed, plan to destroy the Republic and the Jedi. 4.) Sion: Best powers. 5.) Nihilus: Most destructive.
Bane: Most disciplined in the Sith teachings, and most impervious to physical pain.
vader/anakin may have been the most attuned to the force, but he definitely was not the most powerful in force ability.. sidious was stronger

The music in Kotor 1 and Kotor 2, as well as both games themselves, are masterpieces, unmatched until this day. The story was gripping and fascinating - if only the games were more extensive, allowing us to play more, longer, developing the characters further, exploring the nuances of the story .... Still, masterpieces both.

Yes, the Sith Code is appealing...
...BUT the problem is, there is a hell of a lot more to Sith philosophy than just that code. The biggest problem with the Sith is that, in praxis, no Sith can ever be trusted. The pre-Bane Sith, Rule of Two Sith, and One Sith all fell victim to this problem. Without some measure of trust and a guarantee of individual rights among people, there's no way a peaceable society can be built and sustained.
Ultimately, neither Jedi nor Sith should oversee or even be held in the employ of a government. Both are religious orders that want to establish a theocratic rule while persecuting other religious groups that disagree with them. The biggest moral lesson of Star Wars is that church and state should remain separate from each other.
I disagree, Jedis are well siuted for SOME government jobs, and so are Siths, so long as they are not entirely in charge, they can do tremendous amount of good work.
however the republic has always relied on the jedi to an insane degree and lets the order do things that we wouldn't let 'bad guys' do
taking children when less than 5 to be inducted into their cult and trained up,
teaching children to repress/supress all emotions and not to get attached,,
which ultimately leads to jedi falling because people have emotions and not knowing how to process and control means they just pull you apart and take over (see Anakin)
the Sith have other problems in that their 'YAY EMOTIONS' philosophy means the more ruthless sith who are willing to exploit all the darker emotions (fear, rage, hate, jealousy etc) have more to call on than those who try and stay not psycho/nice meaning that the insane murder crazies take control

As for the rest you are right, and Luke Skywalker kind a fixed may of these problems, when he reestablished jedi order.
Also they were not tought to not have emotions, they were tought to not act upon them, small diference, but a significant one.
Jedi has to be compasionate to all live forms, in other words jedi has to love all, but not get fixed on single person, or persons, but even this is not entirely true, as close bonds are tolerated. Say Anakin, we see him create a brotherly bond with Obi-Wan, close freindship (publicly) With Padmé, another sibling like bond with Ahsoka, and no one within the order cared, despite him being not that subtle about being attatched to them.

I know I’m a Star Wars fan……. but Legends is the point where it gets TOO nerdy for me.
i would wage war upon the galaxy, not necessarily because of any dark side affiliations. but i would also defend it from impending destruction, not necesarily because of any light side affiliations. i would do this simply for the understanding of the force that comes of it.
i would devote my self to the sith and jedi codes. i would do this, again, fot the understanding of the force that would come of it. i fear, however, that i could not accomplish this in one lifetime. that and im not force sensitive!

Is it me or Sith have the best character in star wars universe? There is only 1 jedi that had a brain in his head : Qui-gon Jin. Ofc we have obi wan and yoda that everyone likes but can't compare to most sith lords.
***** Agreed. The prequels made Obi Wan the exact opposite of the character he should have been. He should have been adventurous, impulsive, a "leap before you look" sort of Jedi, brimming with overconfidence.
***** Pretty much all of the Jedi were in the prequels...that's why I never really liked them. Though I feel like both the Sith *and* the Jedi are too extreme, they're opposite ends of the spectrum and so far along to each end that they're negatives...the *ORIGINAL* order, the Je'daii, I feel is the closest to the truest application of the Force, they didn't view the supposed Dark or Light sides as inherently good or bad, it was only if you went too far to either end of the spectrum when problems arose they believed....which I think is fairly accurate...
I would add Mace Windu and perhaps Bastila for knowing battle meditation. And, of course, don't forget Meetra Surik. She was a light sided force hole that even the most horrific sith (darth nihilus) could not defeat her

i agree due to the fact that the MMO is good but i prefer a normal kotr 3 not like most game that are now that they are with MMOs.
lordzac12255 Apparently the Jedi Knight classes story was the premise for Kotor 3, I beleive it considering it is the only class to have something tied to Revan.

Jedi actually, there is a companion that once worked with Revan, Lord Scourge a Sith who was going to help Revan take down the emperor but got a force vision that he wasn't destined to do it so he betrayed Revan. Granted Empire side you actually fight Revan.

I don't care what said people said I LIKE the prequeals! The Reveage of Sith is my favorite it.
I like the political view given in the prequels, which was expanded in a few episodes of the Clone Wars, however, not everyone liked that. Also the Romance between Padmé and Anakin was executed terribly, and Lucas wrote Anakin's lines horribly, so Hayden Christensen did terrible because of this bad writing.

The Sith code is part of the old expanded universe, I'm not upset that Disney has made these fictional stories even more fictional. But they could change what it means to be a sith, or a jedi, and that has me worried.
Personally I am quite upset that they are changing stories.. I have grown up reading the Star Wars books and LOVE the lore that is in it. So, atleast for me, the Lore I know will always be the Lore. Just like in -my- view Darth Maul died on Naboo. But that is just me. The actual lore may change but I will just keep remembering it the way it was.
Look as long as the Sith are as what we know today it's fine. The only thing that should change for the Jedi is the whole love/marriage. Take that crap away. I disargee with it holy. In my mind my character in any universe of Starwars, he is ok with Love and infatuation, despite the Jedi Code forbidding it.
It's just a dumb rule. Granted there are decent reasons for it(Anakin Skywalker is proof of this but also other reasons). However Love can be salvation for a Jedi Knight.
Aeluron Isn't that kind of a major thing with Jedi? You're not supposed to let emotion get in the way of good judgement. While I wouldn't necessarily disagree that love can be a salvation, history and (I guess now former) lore are on the side that love doesn't help Jedi. Anakin, Qui Gon Jinn, Dooku, Obi Wan, each was faced with a love of some kind and it really only made things worse. Besides, the love and marriage thing is a source of huge internal conflict for some Jedi.
Although on that note, certain exceptions were made, notably, Ki Adi Mundi was allowed to have several wives because of the low birth rates of his species.
In the New Jedi Order Luke established it is common to see married Jedi. As he was rebuilding the order most who joined were already married so Luke tweaked the code.
It's still a dumb rule. even then, it doesn't necessarily mean every Jedi will get married or fall in love. At most Jedi Training would need to be revamped to adjust to this.
