"Why are you all sweaty?"
"I was watching COPS."
Haha great film
thats bullshit. Because I KNOW cops doesnt start till 4
I used bee's wax on my guitar and now I get fret buzz :P
Gecko Seven to the top!
i love all these puns aahahah
Haha get it, "Bea's wax" BEES WAX BUT BEA'S, thank you thank you.
That dab @ 12:24 tho
Best comment.
Rabea you should relic that Orange cabinets and head. it's too orange for you.
Love Rabea's playing....
looks phenomenal bea!
thanks man :-)
hope your's is holding up :-)
***** hell yeah this sure does! Hey Rabea do you use Final Cut Pro X for all of these videos?
9:49 that early version of Catalyst is so awesome.
Watching this reminds me of the time I took my black quilty Epiphone Les Paul and tried to turn it into a "natural". Lets just say parchment thin veneer and sand paper don't mix! The finished product looked as though it had been dragged by a city bus for several miles! The really silly thing is, it sold for nearly twice what I bought it for new!
Sorry I missed you guys in Indianapolis! I had the wrong date! DAMN!!! I Hope you all are around again very soon! Great playing BTW!
the veneer came off my Epi too when I tried to refinish it, so thin
Thus an iconic guitar was born
That guitar, that tone, that playing... Damn you're good Bea
Looks absolutely great!!
I'd love to see a ML-7 in that finish *_*
Thanks Bea! You and Rob inspire me every day to get better at guitar and practice on a daily basis
The best way to "relic" a guitar is to play it every day!!!
Or have it fall down cement stairs like mine did...
Ouch!
My oldest guitar is 36 yo and it doesn't look anything like relic. No way with poly lacquered guitars. So you have to do it by hand.
this gray colour looks amazing, great job, Bea.
The Warpig is an absolute monster!
I loved mine!
I wouldn't even call it "relicked" because you basically designed a new finish instead of destroying an old one. It looks like a banged up piece of sheet metal. Nice job man its one of a kind
I like that this one doesn't try to replicate aging by beating it and chipping the finish. It just looks like an intentionally uneven grungy wood finish and I really dig it.
That looks immense, much better than it was stock not too over the top relic. Nice one
Amazing !
Much love from Bulgaria!
Watching this today on the 3rd of March 2017 and Bea is literally half the size! Nice one mate you're playing is even better n all :-)
the finish looks sick..great job
That looks sick. And your playing sound SOOO beautiful.
The relic job perfectly complements the worn out looking cover on the bare knuckle. They set each other off nicely.
I just came here from the recent video about Bea talking about Dorje and Toska and what's going on with those bands. Damn bro, I know this is getting old, but the transformation between old and new Bea!
dunno why but I got dead excited when I saw Percy on your fridge!!
love the relic job, nice color and that Bareknuckle looks good in it
Great look Bea!
ugh the background music is so goood. i cannot WAIT for the album to come out :)
How the hell you could someone be so off, they think it’s October 13th on November 5... Bea you are something else
the guitar came out looking so good, great job!
The finished guitar is SICK! Nice work
The version at 6:50 looks immense. I'd happily pay for a guitar with that finish.
Duude! That looks amazing! Need to send it to the factory to get it rebranded & then it'll be done. Nice touch with the hardware & the bridge pickup.
Looks awesome Bea! I love the relic look...
Saw this vid when you released it all that time ago and I forgot how awesome it looked. Very nice 'relicing' of your guitar too. I wanna do the same to my Dean.
Bea this is amazing! I wish this was a production model!
That is a pretty cool result BEA :) I really like the old and abused look!
Loved the clean tone!
he has a signature that he doesn't like wtf XD
That was just a prototype that came out the wrong colour, he likes his production sig.
+Dhruv Kotecha I love my signature guitar, but i hared the prototype colour, and to tell you the truth, i have absolutely fallen in love with this relic, it's my number 1 :-)
+Rabea Massaad Why didn't you "rabbit" the prototype colour instead?
+terrypussypower ha ha ha funny guy :-)
*****
Couldn't resist it. You line 'em up, I'll knock 'em out of the park!
I hear white dove in the background. Can't wait for this album!
Thats the nicest playing ive heard from Bea. Fat cool.
That's one of the best relics I have seen, I would call it a white leopard
It's always a better idea to use a palm sander for all of the flat, non-radiused surfaces first, and then use a foam sanding block to hand sand all of the radii and curves. That way you can keep the shape of the guitar as close to intact as possible. An even better alternative would be to use chemical finish stripper to break down the finish, scrape off the goop and then sand the remainder down with the palm sander and sanding block in the manner described above. You will cut your sanding time down to less than half of what it would be without using stripper. You can even use a propane torch (carefully!!!) to flake off the finish and proceed similarly to if you had used acetone (only to be used on Poly or Nitrocellulose) or some other chemical stripper. Steve Vai had one of his guitars done up this way (ended up going into limited production as the JEM7BSB,) left the burn marks on and had it finished in a satin trans-torquoise finish. Looks sick to say the least.

P.S. Also, to add.... Always a good idea to COMPLETELY disassemble the guitar before any sort of finishing/sanding is to commence. Less headaches and screw-ups that way.
I personally LOVE the relic'd ML-Beas you have more than your standard models. They look beautiful. I wish they could be a special run based on your relic' ones! :DD
11:21-12:38 Sweet! I could listen to that on a loop for hours!
Hey Bea, I really enjoyed your town at the end when you kicked in the delay. You and Rob both sound great slowed up a little bit. It's like your soul comes pouring out through your fingers. Keep it up man...
Loved your video in Wales, quality.
I love every shade of orange. I have a Ibanez prestige that's firestorm orange, a 91 550 that's been lacquered Creamsicle orange. .
you seriously have some lovely looking guitars
Hey Bea, I saw you and Rob in Bristol at the guitar Clinic and I just wanted to say, thanks for letting me have a go on this amazing reliced beast!! You guys are awesome and can't wait till your March tour!!!
Never liked relic'd hardware, but that finish looks amazing now. Good job!
Hands down my favorite guitarist. That bit you played with Rob and Kurt Rodman for tone city was sweet man. Really get the same vibe out of the bit you played here, love it!
Looks awesome!!!!!! If only i could have a guitar that looks like that
Damn good job on both the sanded version and the relic. Nice job.
Absolutely filthy man! Guitar and Solo BADASS!
I feel like Bea plays more melodic and with feeling than rov imho. I've never really dug chapman guitars. Thought they were cheap and bare bones looking. Like an unconpleted guitar. But man your guitar is awesome looking... I want it... that stain isbamazing... the holographic look after the bees wax is sickkk
Thanks man, I can assure you the chapman guitars range is great, you should try them for yourself
Rob liked the thought of the barebones look and he keeps the price down whilst sacrificing profit making it a brand designed for customisation. it's a brand which gives the customer a bigger benefit my next guitar is going to be an ibanez rg350dx because it's the only guitar under £500 that does exactly what I need after that I'm trying out some of the chapmans as ibanez is the only brand that nearly competes for quality vs price
Thanks man, I appreciate your kind words. I think the newer chapman range is
Going to blow people away for the price! Serious value
+Rabea Massaad I'm looking forward to your ml3 fr
+Eric Lopez I think chappers once said something along the lines of that they look incomplete on purpose, he thought of them as a blank canvas and wanted people to customize them and do all kinds of shit to them.
I know you guys dig the natural top, makes a huge difference - I just did a relic job on a surf green strat, got the warmest tone out of the wood grain showing on the top but that got me thinking... You can use stain to transition color, make a 3 tone sunburst, but no poly... just a thought, but if someone could make that happen its you guys! Cheers from Rhode Island!
love that finish bro
Looks absolutely mental!
You've done a nice job there Bea, superb entertainment.
Looks BEAUTIFUL brother!!
what a view from your appartment! wow!
Really like the new look. very cool I want try this with one of my guitars i don't use much.
love the early dorje recordings
Must’ve watched this video at least 30 times over the years 😂 going to finally attempt it this week on my Solar S1.6 as I hate the paint job.
That looks really cool! Amazing Tones!
Bea it looks amazing. I personally wish this was available through chapman guitars! A ML-1 Bea Relic w/ bare knuckles would be the best! Did you intend for it to have that camouflage? It's gorgeous.
+Elliott Millman So are you going to pay Bea £300 to have yours done if you think it is good... actions speak louder than words!
In fairness I did look at the other people doing this kind of work and they charge a lot more. It does take a while to get it right.
I had one guy pay me to do the same to his ML-1 BEA, it came out really well actually :-)
*****
Exactly - look at the hours, you spent days and days doing it.
This is actually so fucking nice, it just looks so filthy and dangerous!!!!!! I am in love with this beast!
Yo Rabea,
Thoroughly enjoyed your video. Good stuff.
The quilt looks amazing . Keep them coming!
Cheers!
Bea if you lightly rub black stain or dye onto the top then sand it back the quilt will explode off of it, then you could seal it with light coats of clear
Never been a fan of artificially aging a guitar, but damn that is a fine looking and sounding axe.
Man that guitar into the jvm..
this was your best live tone in my opinion..
See you in munich this year!
I'm not really a fan of relicing, but this guitar does look a lot better after the fact.
i love the version of catalyst when ur showing the guitar
She sounds beautiful!
Man that looks badass
remember, remember the fifth of november..............
the gun powder, treason and plot I know of no reason why the gun powder and treason should ever be forgot.
Badass man!!! I'm gunna have to try doing that
You always seem amaze me,I'id love to jam one day.
Was getting really worried when you cut toi saying you were going to relic it, having liked the clean beeswaxed look, but the finished thing looked really great!
Looks Great for first time Relic man!
That looks awesome! Great video!
looks awesome Bea, great job. I am actually doing that to one of my older guitars, never done it before, its my first time too, hope mine turns out as nice as yours
Dude, nice job. It looks cool!
That looks badass!
Ps. It looks fabulous!
That finish makes it a BEAut.. Pun wholeheartly intended!!
That looks so sick
Bea, I discovered the other day whilst watching Finding Nemo that, in the face, your bear an uncanny resemblance to the puffer fish in the fish tank! Worth a look!
I thought the guitar turned out looking pretty sweet. I like the scruffy, stained look. Also, your signature is def my favourite Chapman guitar followed by the black ML-3 RC.
Rock on, Bea!
Awesome guitar nice work
That looks great!
WICKED! looks great.
Good going Bea!
awesome job. I think it looks better now.
makes me want to relic one of my ml1s hehe great stuff mate !!!
Im going to buy a chapman guitar i the next few months, was gonna go with the ml1 pro because of the color but I might buy a Bea sig and do something like this. Awesome job man!
Looks great man. Love the battle worn look it took on. Great job 🤙
looks cool man, nice job
