Another upgrade you should consider is adding a dropper post. It will totally transform your rides on trails and your bike looks to already have the internal cable routing holes to run one. It's one of the first upgrades I make to a trail bike.
I think you will come to find that the wide handlebars give you a much more stable steering platform. Narrow bars are way too twitchy on trails so you want that stability when you are bombing through curves over roots and rocks. If they still feel too wide, get yourself a cheap pipe cutter from the hardware store and knock a few centimeters off each end. They are made to be cut down.
a lovely looking bike - I have the yellow/ green version as in the uk we don't have the version you have. I'm new to biking again after many years away and looking forward to it again. Bikes have really changed since my last mountain bike about 22 years ago !
The new technology makes a huge difference. I can’t believe I was missing out all of these months I’ve been riding. But I’m excited to see what this bike Can do for me
Mike, I got the same as you last August. I absolutely love it. I'd never heard of Polygon until last year and now feel part of a special club that loves the brand. I use it daily for going to work and at least twice a week local kids comment "nice bike".
Nice video. I was wondering how tall you are and what made you decide on 27.5? I really like the all purple limited edition xtrada 7 they had last year. Unfortunately I wasn't following this brand until recently.
@@offdaystvI just ordered the 2024 version about 30 minutes ago and I got 27.5 wheels as well I like to whip the bike around and ride a lot of wheelies 29-in wheels is still good for that but 27.5 is a little bit better❤
To a degree. I’ve been doing jumps and rock gardens just fine. For larger drops I’d probably say a full suspension would be better but so far I haven’t really come across anything that this bike couldn’t do
@@IamVanessaGuillen Yes, sometimes I think I wouldn’t have broken my ankle if I had a dropper post. It’s really good for hitting jumps, going downhill, and riding over rocks. It is the next thing that I’m upgrading to.
Wow! What an upgrade! Hope you're still digging this bike a year later.
Took it to Colorado and had a blast!

The best value hardtail in the USA at the moment...
For a thousand dollars and the equipment included on the bike.... Awesome....
Up hill climbing is beautiful on the xtrada 7 had mine for about 2 months best decision 👌 👍
Right?? It changed the climbing game for me
Great bike.I am thinking about buying this bike but in 2021 model year
I wanted that one originally but they didn’t have it in my size
Just purchased the 21 xtrada 7 for $919. Can’t wait for it to arrive. Hopefully they don’t screw me on specs because of “shortages”
@@lowandslow24 I bought Superior XP 909 2021 one week ago.Its more better than xtrada 7

Dropper post is definitely a priority on my list

Im starting to get used to the wide bars. For jumping and turns it feels a lot more comfortable
It took me a couple of weeks to get used to the bar width (2021 Xtrada 7). My old bike feels like a toy now.
@@GrahamDixonUK same! The bar width still sketches me out on tight trails but I could never go back to the old bars I had.
Dope! I like you're new bike bro!
Aye thank you 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Nice bike! You should do a 1 year update.
I don’t have it anymore 😂😂 I got a full suspension now, but I’d still give that bike a 9/10

Xtrada 7 rear hub use seal bearing or cup cone bearing?
Pulling the trigger on exactly this one today! How long did it take to arrive for you?
Nice! It took about 2 weeks to ship and once it ships it got to my house in like 4 days
Definitely get it. Took about 3-4 weeks

I’m 5’10 and I chose 27.5 because I did a Facebook poll and majority of people voted 27.5. They said 29 is faster and 27.5 is more agile.

@ 27.5 is definitely more maneuverable and great for playing around. 29 is great for serious XC miles
how tall are you if you don't mind me asking. do you think it's the right fit for you (besides the handlebars)? - thanks in advance
Im 5’10, I could have gotten away with a medium but the large frame is very comfortable for me.
Would you say you could do a little bit of everything with this bike?

it still worth buying for 2024?
Yes if you want to ride XC trails. I wish I would have kept mine
