Others have already commented but I figure I'll add on to this, the main reason that sunflowers are placed at the front is because they are extremely cheap and have a quick recharge, meaning it isn't actually a problem if you lose a few. This becomes even more powerful in PvZ2 and mods like this one, where sunflowers cost the same as the amount of sun they produce. It means that, with good play, a sunflower you place will always pay for itself, even if you use it as a staller. In addition, high level PvZ players can typically make sun so easily that losing a single sunflower barely impacts your defense, while losing an attacking plant (especially expensive, long recharge plants that are optimal in the PvZ meta like melon and winter) can be pretty devastating. Mods for both PvZ and PvZ2 typically either lean into sunflower as a staller or change its "role" into more of an investment; it seems that Reseeded has solidly done the former, making it even better to place your sunflowers in front here than in vanilla PvZ
The difficulty in PvZ2 is astonishing but it was a welcoming experience for me (probably because they expect the players to grind and level up the plants but I beat it with all lv 1 plants) there are so many zombies that make the plants on the front vulnerable or can skip over the plants, so gaining even a second is essential for survival.
That and sunflowers are cheaper than most firepower, so when the zombies push down to column 4 would you rather them be them in your shooters or 50 cost sunflowers
Having the sunflowers at the back is most sensible as the last thing you want damaged is your economy since that's kinda what you need to recover from any defense breaches.
@@thelelanatorlol3978 not really since you always gain sun from the sky except if its night and sunshrooms/sunflowers are always cheaper then attackers so you can easily replace them without a single dent in the economy while losing defense means you just have a lot of sun but nothing to spend it on because the zombies are too close and keep reaching your plants and killing them

This mod broke my symmetry addiction and I like that. The mod forced my to actually pay attention and plan ahead to beat each level. The music is great and the plants are balanced. I love this mod and you should definitely try it for yourself. Edit: I don't put sun producers in the back anymore. This mod forces you to get better at the game.
Thus why I never will play these mods. I am diagnosed with OCD and while that on its own isn’t a problem for games like these, one of my strongest compulsions is symmetry. I have 2 beds in my bedroom, a desk in the middle and a wardrobe on the other side. If any of these items are moved I proceed to have a panic attack and go into fight or flight. Thus, I sadly will not be able to enjoy these and I hate myself for it.
I love how not only does the Burst Shroom freeze the water ala the zombies in the pool getting frozen, but the animation of the sun glistening also stops!

Having a whole bunch of later zombie types showing up in wallnut bowling both adds a ton of extra whimsy to the minigame and teases/previews those future zombies since you'll have to deal with them eventually anyway, all with no extra risk. I love that

I just clicked on this video, expecting someone like you to have tons of views and subs. You have the editing style of some of the larger RUclipsrs. However, I suggest putting big hour long videos like this into parts. Either separate them by every setting (Night, Pool, etc) or add timestamps. Good luck!

You have a lot of potential, keep going. This mod is really cool, too The threepeater change is aperfect example of why Sunflowers are placed in the front. If the zombies eat a sunflower you lose 25 sun. If they eat your threepeater you lose 750 sun and a big chunk of your firepower. Extreme example here but you get the point: Sunflowers are cheap and they have a recharge, that's why they work better as a shield for your much more expensive attacking plants. By leaving the back for attackers you realize you can just spam sunflowers and get more sun than you'd ever need.

Popped up in my recommended right as i got back into Pvz, been doing a Co-Op playthrough, very fun! Also, you are entertaining, and have received a new subscriber! (Please excuse my poor grammar, i never said i was smart, brain stolen by zambl)
I tried a playthrough of this thanks to you, and holy god some of it was intense. 5-9 gave me a heart attack on first impressions. Spoilers for people who intend to play: Giga gargantuars, zombonis, catapult zombies, ladders bucketheads pogos, EVERYTHING dangerous in the game comes at you in this and the majority of them are buffed by the mod, AND IT'S A NIGHT LEVEL. *WITH 8 FLAGS.* You get 500 sun to start and an extended preparation period, but that's it, from there you're on your own and it doesn't ramp up slow. Melon pults cost 1200 sun, yet they're effectively your win condition, as no other plant even has a hope of bringing down the super gargantuars. But by god was it satisfying to finally beat with one of the most strange looking defenses I've ever built in a Plants vs Zombies game.
@@eclipscycle The final boss was a nice victory lap though, but then the game has to go and tell me "TRY NEW GAME PLUS FOR HELL" And of course the minigames are brutal as well, because why not

Hey man, your vid popped up in my recommended. I hope you have a great time at college, I just graduated and it was definitely the greatest experience of my life even considering half of it was screwed up because of.. "The 2020 Incident". But yeah, it's definitely what you make of it. Don't feel like the first friend group you find is the only group you'll come across. I had a horrible first group experience but was able to bounce back from it. Join clubs and student organizations and I promise you'll have a phenomenal time. Take care and God bless ❤

Ideas for the lamer ones: Snow Pea now builds up to a freeze, but deals no damage. Fires faster. No AOE. OR Snow Pea now has AOE, but shoots slower peas. Puff-Shroom can see zombies that other puff-shrooms in the lane can see, but needs to be awake. Costs 25. Wall-Nut has lower HP, but regens. Potato Mine costs more, but regrows. Burst-Shroom deactivates Zombie abilities- Armor will not apply, disco can't disco, etc. Doom-Shroom now mutates nearby plants, changing them into a random plant of the same type.
That schizophrenia joke was in poor taste. It’s an illness that makes some people’s lives very difficult, they shouldn’t have to deal with people making fun of them for being born with mental disease.
It is understandable how this joke pokes at people with schizophrenia but it clearly wasn't his attention to bash anyone that has it. He has stated that he doesn't want to upset people with his content because that is not his intention, so I'm sure he'll be more open-minded about this kind of stuff in the future. I will admit, I slightly chuckled at that segment, but I didn't really think about the people who actually experience schizophrenic moments until seeing this comment. sunflowers at the front seems unintuitive at first if you played the game as a child like I did but its really helpful for when your defenses get breached. think about it this way: if your defenses never get breached it doesn't matter what order you put your plants in (walls and short-range plants notwithstanding) but if plants start getting eaten then having sunflowers in front means your dps doesn't go down, whereas if your dps plants are in front it can cause a cascade where the breached lane is weaker and easier to breach further. also based lobotomy corporation enjoyer.
even if your defenses never get breached, it actually does matter what order your plants are in. it's important to plant your sunflowers as far to the left as possible during the early game because you'll need to plant potato mines in front of them to stall the early waves and generate sun, and you'll want to plant the potato mines as far left as possible to stall the waves longer to both generate more sun and give your potato mine time to recharge.
I do plant my potato mines in the first column when possible yes. I plant my sun producers row by row instead of column by column so that there's less chance of a zombie entering their lanes. so my early game setup usually has one or two rows with sunflowers and shooters behind them while the other lanes get stalled with mines & other instas.
You'd think that he'd eventually learn that sunflowers in the back is generally a terrible strategy, especially considering the game made it them even cheaper and more spammable than base game. Having them be cheap meat shields for the offensive plants is ingrained into the base game as although they are important, they're not as vital as actual attacking plants to clear the zombies in a lane.

I didn't think I would sit through an hour of a pvz mod but I did and I love it PLS PART TWO
I tried a playthrough of this thanks to you, and holy god some of it was intense. 5-9 gave me a heart attack on first impressions.
Spoilers for people who intend to play:
Giga gargantuars, zombonis, catapult zombies, ladders bucketheads pogos, EVERYTHING dangerous in the game comes at you in this and the majority of them are buffed by the mod, AND IT'S A NIGHT LEVEL. *WITH 8 FLAGS.* You get 500 sun to start and an extended preparation period, but that's it, from there you're on your own and it doesn't ramp up slow. Melon pults cost 1200 sun, yet they're effectively your win condition, as no other plant even has a hope of bringing down the super gargantuars. But by god was it satisfying to finally beat with one of the most strange looking defenses I've ever built in a Plants vs Zombies game.

I hope you have a great time at college, I just graduated and it was definitely the greatest experience of my life even considering half of it was screwed up because of.. "The 2020 Incident". But yeah, it's definitely what you make of it. Don't feel like the first friend group you find is the only group you'll come across. Most of these plants are straight downgrades and some are literally just “hey I’m gonna tweak this things suncost by one” tf you mean they’re reworked
Sadly I'm a little inclined to agree with this most of the plants are just not good and some are absolutely busted
Ideas for the lamer ones:
Snow Pea now builds up to a freeze, but deals no damage. Fires faster. No AOE.
OR Snow Pea now has AOE, but shoots slower peas.
Puff-Shroom can see zombies that other puff-shrooms in the lane can see, but needs to be awake. Costs 25.
Wall-Nut has lower HP, but regens.
Potato Mine costs more, but regrows.
Burst-Shroom deactivates Zombie abilities- Armor will not apply, disco can't disco, etc.
Doom-Shroom now mutates nearby plants, changing them into a random plant of the same type.

That schizophrenia joke was in poor taste. It’s an illness that makes some people’s lives very difficult, they shouldn’t have to deal with people making fun of them for being born with mental disease.
It is understandable how this joke pokes at people with schizophrenia but it clearly wasn't his attention to bash anyone that has it. He has stated that he doesn't want to upset people with his content because that is not his intention, so I'm sure he'll be more open-minded about this kind of stuff in the future. I will admit, I slightly chuckled at that segment, but I didn't really think about the people who actually experience schizophrenic moments until seeing this comment. Thank you for spreading this awareness and not letting it go blind. It is important to take in to consideration the feelings of others

sunflowers at the front seems unintuitive at first if you played the game as a child like I did but its really helpful for when your defenses get breached. think about it this way: if your defenses never get breached it doesn't matter what order you put your plants in (walls and short-range plants notwithstanding) but if plants start getting eaten then having sunflowers in front means your dps doesn't go down, whereas if your dps plants are in front it can cause a cascade where the breached lane is weaker and easier to breach further.

even if your defenses never get breached, it actually does matter what order your plants are in. it's important to plant your sunflowers as far to the left as possible during the early game because you'll need to plant potato mines in front of them to stall the early waves and generate sun, and you'll want to plant the potato mines as far left as possible to stall the waves longer to both generate more sun and give your potato mine time to recharge.
I do plant my potato mines in the first column when possible yes. I plant my sun producers row by row instead of column by column so that there's less chance of a zombie entering their lanes. so my early game setup usually has one or two rows with sunflowers and shooters behind them while the other lanes get stalled with mines & other instas.

You'd think that he'd eventually learn that sunflowers in the back is generally a terrible strategy, especially considering the game made it them even cheaper and more spammable than base game. Having them be cheap meat shields for the offensive plants is ingrained into the base game as although they are important, they're not as vital as actual attacking plants to clear the zombies in a lane.
