I bought one of these a year ago its about 18 years old and had 46,000 miles on the clock and I paid about $1,000 for it but also had to bake the dealer a cake. I have a water tank on the back seat which feed through a hose direct into my caravan. I have a large solar panel on the roof which gives me power for my appliances also fed into my catavan. I can go off around the UK and not have to stop on any caravan sites for two weeks. I took it up a 1/25 gradient fully loaded with coal ,gas , water , tools etc and didn't even have to drop it out of 1st gear. Its a brilliant car and I've driven a fair few over the years. They like to drink fuel but this is to be expected with mine which is the grand vitara XL v.6.7
That is a good buy. I dished out 3500 for an 08 2wd 4dr with 160k. For the prices around my area it doesn't seem so bad. I can't even find anymore in my area (okc, Dallas) but I did a search in NY and pulled some up.
I got one last year as I had a feeling they were going to be in high demand soon. I have it as my daily driver and have done some restoration and upgrades
Cool, I have 03 model. I’ve been working on building a front replacement bumper for it. They are surprisingly capable little rigs off road. I kinda have a similar overland/daily theme going. Lol
i bought a 2003 xl7 with 100.000 miles, i lifted it and also i made it a roof rack, put some fog lights on the roof and a jerry can holder on the spare tire. i really love it
I have owned a bunch of trackers but it's been over 10 years... I just picked up a 03 grand vitara with 165k. already has a spacer lift and getting bigger tires friday.
anyone fix the belt or pully squeal @ start up ? how has also left the v/c gasket leaking lol... i did rear shocks for ($24 total) which helped the back end , they were leaking @ 197k when we got our 2000..
I’ve seen one of those for sale. I’m thinking of getting it with 117,000 miles on it. Want to know how it drives because I know Suzuki’s have a bad rap. I want to use it as my daily driver as well thinking of putting a nice set of wheels on it some KO twos by BF Goodrich
@@TrailTrekmedia Hey man! 2 months later and i just got my hands on a 2002 Grand Vitara. I paid $3900 but its the sturdy JLX with 4wd and a V6. Thanks for the encouragement. stoked to watch more Suzuki videos.
@@TrailTrekmedia Nice! Thank you for your reply. Have one for sale nearby for 3700 dollars with 111 000 miles on the clock. Looks like it is in really good shape by the pictures
Had a '97 petrol one in my family for 20 years (bought in 2000) and I can assure you that rust is the only major problem of these... As of now, mine is basically a pile of rust, the back of the cabin is almost completely detached from the chassis, but I still daily drive it, and will for years 😂

Nice! Got my 01 with 130k and new tires for $1400
I have the same year, same color, and we even have the same mileage. I've been wanting to make some upgrades to mine, so ill be following this series!
Love these Vitaras. Right know I have a 2011 Forester XT but if I find a Vitara like yours in good shape I'll buy it. Those are snow monsters.

Sounds awesome!!

Heck yeah!!
I had one of these and my AC pulley seized so I lost power steering because they shared the same belt but other than that I loved that little car
They are amazing
Nice truck but the V6 engine is a pain in the ass to work on
im planning on getting one soon from my uncle, although its extreeemly rusty (the plastic flares are coming off)

Just replace the belt. If the belt keeps squealing I might assume oil is getting on the belt.
Esta cor verde é perfeita

Hello, which multimedia you installed inside?
lookin at an identical one for sale rn. V6, automatic, 4X4 87,000 miles and they want $5000 for it. I'm on a budget. should I do it?
I think $5000 is very steep. The low miles seem nice for sure but I’d keep looking.

@@daniel9453 heck yeah! Good to hear! Hopefully I’ll get back to making some videos soon! Got lots to do to the vitara
Did you buy the vitara? I'm looking at a similar vitara for $5k. It's a '00, V6, manual, 53,000 miles. Should I get it?
@@Louis_Searcy I did. I love the thing and think that's a good deal. super low miles!
Hi, noticed you have touch screen installed in it. Did you install it? If so how did you do it? cheers
You have to look for a double din dash install kit for a Suzuki, a GM one might work as well. They are super cheap on Amazon usually.
Fuel consumption please per 1L
Does yours glow green and fly?
Unfortunately not, didn’t come with this model.
i have this exact same model in white, i also have the oil leak and belt squeal on cold starts 🤣
Mine too, seeing a pattern here😂
ours also 200k , 2000 lol
Nice review 🥂
I bought this 2002 model for 4000$ with 116000 miles,it is good deal?
Pretty decent deal yes.
Is this a fwd biased awd system ?
RWD with 4h 4lo

Looks nice I take it lol
Nice vehicle. How many MPG do you get from it?
18 give or take.
I bought one last week but i found out that it had rust problem.
The back bridge (rear subframe) was almost gone :(
Well dang :(

The problem is that they're basically tin cans, huge rusty tin cans...
Crank won't turn I think my son over heated what can I do
Check for fuel pressure, check for spark. Check timing
