Meet Andrew, guy with a passion for surfing who recently picked up a Slater Designs Sci-Fi 2.0 in 6'4". Despite his 220 lb frame, Andrew found the 42.7 liter board to have plenty of float, even comparing favorably to his previous 45 liter Cymatic.
Andrew's been putting the Sci-Fi 2.0 through its paces at Kaisers, and he's impressed with its performance. He notes the board's smooth entry into waves and praises the channel design, which allows him to easily move up and down the wave face.
One of the standout features for Andrew is the board's speed. He's set it up as a quad using Futures fins, which he feels gives him that extra boost of speed in the water.
What's particularly noteworthy is how well the Sci-Fi 2.0 performs despite having less volume than Andrew's previous board. He mentions not even noticing the difference in liters, which speaks volumes about the board's design and performance.
