This episode was absolutely inspiring and exciting, nothing "over the hill" here at all: a morning of mountain biking from both of you, a sumptuous yet healthy BBQ lunch, and an exhilarating afternoon of kayaking. WOW! I love you guys, and I pray I can meet you someday to show how much I appreciate you. May God bless and keep you healthy and happy for many more adventures ahead, Stan and Rhonda. 🙏🏾❤️👍🏾

Slickrock ride is coming up soon so hold on for that one! 😅 Sounds like you are a mountain bike rider so you get the thrill 👏 Such a love hate relationship with me, lol! Enjoyed your video. You were lucky with the weather. We were there just 2-3 days prior to your visit, and the area was very windy for days with up to 45 mph wind gusts. We did the kayaking and slot canyon hike about 3 years ago. The slot canyon is beautiful and free, however, we found that it really is no comparison to the guided tour. We did the guided tour on our last trip in May, and even though it’s quite pricey, we found it to be well worth it. If someone’s budget is limited, a great slot canyon hike to do in the area is Buckskin Gulch. It’s free and it is an amazing hike!

Hello Debbie, thank you for all that great information. So where we turned around we were only a 1/4 mile from the guided tour. We heard it was very beautiful. We will have to look up that Buckskin Gulch area. We also heard we missed some snow. Thank you for joining us! Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️

Another excellent video, y'all! We loved y'all's last video, too. It brought back great memories when we drove up US 89 two years ago. We went to Kanab via the Navajo Bridge, climbed the Kaibab Plateau and stayed in Kanab. We had a blast and want to go back someday! Speaking of "over-the-hill," that would be us!! But we still get out, travel, and go places with our trailer (which I have to reclaim from the shop in Granbury TX this Saturday).
Thanks for the mention. The rocks y'all were trekking through in Antelope Canyon are the fossil sand dunes of the Jurassic Navajo Sandstone. It was deposited in a huge sand erg (giant sand desert similar to the Sahara) on the western side of the super continent Pangaea during the Age of the Dinosaurs. This is the same sandstone you see in Zion National Park and Red Rock Canyon west of Las Vegas NV (it's called the Aztec Sandstone there but it's the same formation - which is the subject of an entirely different discussion. 😉) The small pebble-like stones eroding out of the sandstone are known as "Moqui Marbles." These are small concretions formed from the minerals hematite (iron oxide) or goethite (iron oxihydroxide) cementing the sandstone in the form of little balls. These formed during the burial and lithification of the Navajo/Aztec Sandstone. They are quite common across the region. Those canyons are sacred places for the Diné (Navaho) and the Hopi peoples. Too much information there, bruh! 😂
Really enjoyed the video and we're looking forward to next week's video adventures!
Safe travels, and God bless y'all!
