I love your videos!! So creative and fun. As a woman old enough to be your mother, please take this compliment as intended: You have a comforting yet joyous soul. And your eyes are to "die" for! Take care!🤗🇨🇦
WOW. I lived in Adelaide for 5 years more then thirty years ago, I remember eating pies after school, sold on the street with meat and vegetables, still remember the delicious taste....thanks for reminding me how to make them!
1. Sausage, mushrooms, spinach, artichoke, pizza sauce and mozzarella. 2. Venison, bacon, mushrooms and swiss cheese. 3. Chicken, mushrooms, peas (not canned), and caramelized onions. 4. Taco beef, onions, sharp cheddar, and salsa. 5. Seafood, mushrooms, and caramelized onions in a parmesan-garlic cream sauce. 6. Roast or corned beef hash with egg. 7. Hash browns, caramelized onions, ham, and cheese. There, one for every day of the week!
OMG I am copying this to a note-card. They all sound just as yummy as this version. Thank-you for sharing. #1 I think is my favorite but venison is almost a tie for me. Have a wonderful day!!!
Looks amazing. I love how you keep to the point, while adding encouraging and fun comments along the way ("Just blitz them... "pop them in the oven"... sounds very doable and uncomplicated!). I enjoy seeing the taste testing and I really appreciate that you place those adds at the beginning and at the end of the clip... thank you!
I love listening to you, it's so relaxing and reminds me being in a airplane while Stewart talking on phone. You're so bubbly and you remind me of my uncle. I love your cooking. Thank you for sharing and for being so bubbly
I love your easy, quick and totally gorgeous recipes, this one is no exception, I made them this morning but also made a pie with the minced beef/ onion/ mushroom filling using shortcrust pastry, these are perfect for single people because they can be frozen, especially with the current cost of living crisis I love batch cooking.
Made the beef and mushroom pies for the kids and they finish quickly very easy recipe to make Thank you heaps. Your video's makes me enjoy cooking love your recipe.
i really like how his cooking is traditional it really is homely cooking at its best. i remember cooking like him when i was younger to and i still cook now
Done it again mate. I love the breadcrumbs idea as an alternative to cornflour to thicken the juice. I put a couple of slices of bread in my sausage rolls per kg meat and so this has inspired me to try it for this pie recipe. Although admittedly David I'm trying to get my head around the shape and calling it a pie. However I can see that you can't call it a pastie without the potato, veges etc ohh and it's puff pastry lol. Either way your simplicity wins me over every time and you still manage to make your recipes flavoursome 😊
Every year before hunting season my Dad had us make dozens of pasties. Really very similar to what you just made. He would stick one in his pocket and when he got hungry while hunting, he'd pop it out and there was his lunch!
This turned out so good. Also used the puff pastry scraps with cinnamon sugar, a bit of chopped apple and sealed, baked and OMG - the perfect dessert for the meat pies!
I mean personality wise he’s perfection. I could talk to Him for hours I bet. But i hope he gets healthier so we can enjoy his videos for even longer. I worry we lose our chef early 😢
Wow David this is amazing , i just made this , i added peas corn and mash potatoes and a little bit of paprika mixed it all and they came out fabulous and everyone loved them , thank you so much you are amazing.
I tried your recipe tonight, and served the beef pies to my family. They loved it. They now want me to try different varieties to find out how those will taste. Thank you so much for showing me how easy it is to make something so delicious! Kathy
That looks delicious! A variation I would try is saute onion and add garlic with the meat, use leftover mashed potato, no bread crumbs, then add the canned peas and carrots; would be like a Shephard's pie in a hand pie.
Thanks for this recipe. I can honestly say I have never had this dish. it looks amazing! thank you so much for giving me a new way to prepare ground beef that will be quick and easy I'm sure my husband will like it!
Fell for these while living in New Zealand. This is the first recipe that comes even close to the delicious savory street pies I had in Auckland. Thank you Dearie! Quarantine is about to get yummier:)
My mom makes homemade Middle-Eastern Meat and Spinach pies all the time, but I've never had the skill to make anything edible before. I love these tutorials! However, I'm gonna use Pillsbury Flakey Buttermilk Biscuts as a substitute for the Pastry Wrappers and try to make mini meat pies, cause I gotta start small. Lol, Baby steps! 😅💖
Could I ask what spices you use? I love trying foods from other cultures. When I lived in Minnesota, US; the restaurant choices were AMAZING in the twin city area. Needed a guide for Indian cuisine. But I can practically "beach myself" on what used to be referred to as "Oriental". (My adult son told me about 20 years ago that this term is NON pc.) I took a wonderful Chinese cooking class when my kids were little & learned my way around a wok
Thank you for all your videos! I just made these meat pies and the first batch was eaten by my family so fast!!! This is the aecond batch and they let me take a quick picture of them so they can eat these too!! Wonderful, very tasty, and easy recipe!!
I have never made hand pies. I'm going to give yours a try. Thank you for sharing your recipe. And thank you for the tip of putting bread. To soak up juices. As my Mama says never too old. To learn something new. You have a wonderful day.
Gonna try this with some ground elk we have in the freezer. Happen to have everything else on hand except for the green onions. Going to make it anyway with some yellow onion, which I'll caramelize for added sweetness. This recipe looks so good, can't wait to try it out with what I have on hand.
“Fat is where the flavor is, that’s why I’m so tasty” 🤣 I love that line & have to remember it!!
Great recipe!
Why am I laughing ?
Would make a great T-shirt!!
Love it this guy is class act
My grandma always added instant potatoes to absorb/thicken liquid. Added a great flavor and texture, too.
What a great idea!! I'm trying that. Don't have a food processor.
I love your videos!! So creative and fun. As a woman old enough to be your mother, please take this compliment as intended: You have a comforting yet joyous soul. And your eyes are to "die" for! Take care!🤗🇨🇦
