      I had doubts about the vocals in the first half of the show, but this section was worth the admission cost alone. I'd booked elsewhere as original Albert hall gig clashed with Solstice, but missed that show due to illness, so bought ticket on the day for last show of tour. Damn glad I did ..... of course I was at QPR 50 years ago to hear them play Ritual

    Decent Yes vibe. I remember this was a hard one to wrap my head around. At times the lack of forward motion made it seem directionless. Modern classical music is the same with its attack on tonality.
    You have to play this music into shape in front of your audience.

    OMG this is butchering one of the greatest prog albums of all time. And who the hell is singing so flat? As great as Billy Sherwood is, it's hard to believe he is willing to have anything to do with this fiasco. Come on Steve, call it anything but Yes. How about 'Yes Reimagined'? That would at least be honest.

    • @5qob
      @5qob 26 дней назад

      So many people make excuses citing the quality of recording. Rather, it's the quality, or lack thereof, of the musicians that have been for years now bastardizing the name Yes. Retire the name, then this has some respectability. Nothing about this represents Yes in any way, shape, or form.

      1) Steve can’t play his parts the same anymore. 2) Geoff never could play the classic Yes pieces. 3) Billy is singing flat. 4) Jay is following Steve’s tempos, which means to slow down when the really chops-heavy parts come around. 5) Jon is doing great, but he’s SO NOT “Jon.” Also, he’s showing the same signs of vocal fatigue that ended Benoit David’s run with the band.

    • @yeswolf1
      @yeswolf1 2 месяца назад +1

      I have long suggested calling this band Yes Reimagined. It sure isn't Yes. Jon's new music and shows with The Band Geeks is 10,000% better than this slow tempo, partially off key destruction of once great Yes music. If you don't have Jon Anderson, your band isn't Yes. Jon is proving that again on his current tour with Band Geeks, just like he did with ARW.

    No No No. They've butchered such a great piece of music, long and adventurous, which here seems at best an ugly hodgy podgy pop song of the 70s. Then the fact they play the right notes doesn't mean they're playing that masterpiece. It hurts my ears. Please stop. The Ancient guitar solo is also a mess, slow and without deepness. Let aside the vocals. Please stop.

    Bruford still alive and in good shape, Anderson still singing and doing it waaaaay better than this guy, Geddy Lee more than capable to fill in for Squire, and Wakeman still playing. Put that lineup together and then you'll be able to call it Yes.
