Such a nightmare, asbestos a nightmare from the past. I'm glad you were able to fix it. If you need an AV, IT person let me know.

I know this has been a painful journey, but the lessons and knowledge learned are going to be invaluable as you move forward. Some of this does sound like your inspectors skipped steps and didn't perform due diligence (and should probably be held liable for some of the costs but that's a whole different subject). Y'all have gotten a ton done! Are you going to live in this house until you build on your property?

It definitely has been a painful journey, but we didn’t want to cut corners or be “cheap” with this house. Especially with it being so vintage. We’ve learned a ton about renovating a house, so with our next project we’d like to be more hands on with it. Long term we plan on renting/Airbnb/vrbo etc, so we wanted to make sure certain upgrades we made were done with that in mind. Inspectors definitely played major role during this process, because they didn’t flag most of the problems during the closing period (we had two different ones). Yes, our neighbors said since the 20+ years they’ve lived here it’s the first time seeing anything done.
For now yes until we’re completely done.

@Ethan & Court you are smart, cutting corners usually leads to bigger, more expensive issues down the road. Look forward to your next update!

Thanks, it definitely has been a bittersweet. We learned a ton on how to renovate a house and what it takes. We plan on obtaining more projects in future. Most likely a quadplex or some type of multi-unit.

Your inspector...don't seem to have much experience....next time specify that you want a comprehensive eval....I just pulled out of a deal because my inspector had questions about 3 things. I didn't want to be saddled with headaches. Nothing older than 20 years. Thankfully you are a TEAM supporting each other.

Thank you for the advice, we definitely learned our lesson when choosing an inspector. Next time around we are going to be very specific and picky.
Yes, we're blessed and thankful to have gone through everything together.
