There needs to be an independent
oversight committee all across the country at every jail and prison.
What's the point if the supposed oversight committee is apart of the correctional facility? That's ridiculous!
There are some very ridiculous things going on and the Feds need to step in

Yes they get medical Care at the staffs discretion. My son has requested treatment for a hernia for 3 months. If family calls to complain, the staff takes it out on the prisioner..

Everybody is talking about don’t do the crime and you won’t have to do the time but it isn’t that simple. Not everyone in there is there for murder, being a pedo, or heinous crimes like that. We must remember there are people in there for petty theft crimes, drug charges..etc. Some people just want to serve their time and be released. Then we wonder why inmates come out and reoffend in the free world. Maybe because you treat them like animals and that’s all they know. What’s the point in releasing people if they aren’t rehabilitated? That has always been stupid to me.

They're still human beings and yes they treat people like they're animals. They don't help them when they need medical attention or anything else for that matter.

Shame on you and may god have mercy on your soul if you think it’s ok to treat any human being like an animal. Regardless of what mistakes they have made , we don’t know what led up to that point . Only can can judge and your cruel opinion just reflects on your character.

How we treat animals is infinitely worse and speaks loudly to our cruelty. My friend developed cervical cancer while incarcerated and she's lucky to be alive after the very poor care she received.

bighannes410 Ha animals are treated Better than Missouri inmates, You would never see 10 dogs crowded into a 20x10 room guessing on the size of the room. Son says regular cells made for 2 men now have 4. He is in one room with 10. All this over an abandoned car which the son took a backpack out of. Sure seems to me things are going on in the world much worse and people not seeing inside of prison. Not saying he was right to take something not his but prison really seems ove the top. He got busted once for sleeping in his car when the police stopped to check on him they saw a pipe. That was all it took, no dope in the car. Just a used pipe. Which could have belonged to anybody that had been in the car. Jeez.. He spent 2 years in that one.

and what do you tell the people who the police just slipped some drugs on, or wrote a false police report on, or someone who made one mistake driving, you dont get it that good people end up in jail, and letting them be victimized in jail. 100% of them come back to society to live with you. so really think how smart your comment is or isnt

@@mistatk I agree! People screaming “give them all life” and “hang them in the county square” lumping murderers and child molesters in with DWI offenders, and thieves or drug addicts. They are going to be released and be your neighbor. So maybe start screaming something different, like rehabilitation, fair treatment, oversight. These inmates are people. The problem is literally that they aren’t treated as human, but as animals. So don’t be surprised when they get out and act like one. Shut up and do something!

Even if the prisons are at 💯 percent staffed, I think there should be more Gaurds on duty.
An example, for those who know, each house has 1 officer working the bubble.
    They claim that is normal.
Even tho the bubble is set up in a way that it needs 2 officers to work the bubble.
    Then there is the training.
Example. At training, they tell you that you need to do at the bear minimum of 3 checks per hour.
Most houses requires you to do only 2 checks per hour. Some houses does require 3 or 4 checks per hour.
The pay is not great for a dangerous job. Some people do the bare minimum because of that.
Sargents don't make that much more the then a Officer either.
CERT (SERT?) only makes 100 extra per month. They are on call 24/7 and can't leave the state for any reason.

Agree, but define “do the time.” Do the time should not be equivalent to being treated like an animal and denied medical care, basic hygiene, meals, and protection. When we tell them they don’t deserve that, they are released and the cycle continues and worsens. Be smarter bro!

People need to take heed and not do the things that would result in their incarceration. If they weren't in Prison life would be considerably better.

    • @eagleclaw1179
      @eagleclaw1179 2 года назад

That would be a nice utopian reality, but in actual reality you have a generation of neglected kids growing up and no one teaching them not be a criminal. So, when they break the law and go to prison for petty theft, vandalism, drug addiction, forgery, etc you are saying they deserve to be treated like an animal? To be refused medical care, basic hygiene, meals? No, they deserve to be treated as criminals who are paying the price for their crime with incarceration and decent treatment. Rehabilitation. If the state gives them the same neglect and apathy as they had growing up, the cycle just continues when they are released. Be smarter!

Well somebody needs to, you got COs carrying in drugs, coming to work themselves high. I already know! All that happens is excuses made for them. I say, they need to contact the ACLU and let them know what's going on. They need to make surprise visits, that way it will come to light what is truly going on.

By the way, anytime I have called, the person is rarely available. Lord knows, you can never talk to the warden or assistant warden, because they are always in a meeting. If they were TRULY in that many meetings, there wouldn't be this many problems and there wouldn't be a staff shortage. It isn't the inmates that cause the staff to quit, it's the high up staff that causes the shortage. I have talked to waaaay to many people that have told me how it truly runs inside the wire.

The punishment of prison is supposed to be the denial of liberty. Add in the rotten food ( or lack thereof), the joy of being caged and treated like an animal and prison becomes a punishment within a punishment.

WHY CAN THE COUNTY OR THE PRISON, BUT NOT THE FAMILY OF WHOM YOU HAVE KIDNAPPED AND HELD FOR RANDSOM.
