Conan is such a genius that he can completely hide his actual serious side and become a complete baboon for the sake of his art. What an inspiration.
+Electra ya ever see behind the actor's studio with Conan ? Actually a very serious man. but I guess it's hard to keep from tearing people down when you're on youtube. Good job
Thomas has a title for his next book. Being Conan: A Man Divided
It's actually the other way around. But yeah, he is a genius.

I wish Conan would start a book club. He has really interesting and cool taste. I always seek out the books of the authors he interviews.
He could have a second RUclips channel just for literature
I like this Conan guy, he should get a talk-show
He should get the Tonight Show, but i have a feeling it won't last long

Wow, what a pleasant surprise...more serious jibber-jabber please!
I agree! More Serious Jibber Jabber please!
yea these are great, definitely need more!
Conan - you are a genius. Of everything you have done, SJJ is some of the best work. Please bring it back.
Serious Jibber-Jabber is such an approachable video series. You can take a topic like Richard Nixon and make it absolutely fascinating. I loved sharing things I've learned from these conversations with people I know.
This really opened my mind. I wish Conan would do more of these.
It's really cool to see that Conan, if he *really* wanted to stop making comedy, could easily do a chilled monthly interview show and people would probably like it. Only a few funny guys can pull of the serious thing.
I don't care is this gets dismally viewed compared to two minute clips of Conan joking about some Hollywood bombshell's chest but this is the other side of Conan I really respect and enjoy. He's a smart ass, but he's a smart ass from Harvard...
I'm not usually into presidential or political history, but this was truly one of the most fascinating interviews I have ever seen. "Serious Jibber-Jabber" is surely one of the best series on RUclips. Keep it up, Conan!!
I'd love to see Conan do a Serious Jibber-Jabber stylle podcast on a somewhat more regular basis. I've always been a fan of these interviews when he's done them in the past and its nice to see a different side of Conan.
So much respect for Conan. He's such a layered guy.
These are some of the best interviews I've ever heard. Conan is, apparently, a supreme intellectual who can offer the world comedy as well as knowledge. There is no comparison to him.
It's terrific to see Conan participating in a serious discussion / book club type of thing. Especially on such an interesting persona. I hope this turns into a once-per-month episode.
For those of you with Netflix, there's a really good PBS documentary on there about the end of the 60's and Nixon. Definitely worth a watch if you enjoyed this talk.
+Travis Williams What's the name of this documentary?
TheWoollyCornet The Day the 60's Died. Sorry, I guess that would've helped.
Travis Williams thanks
+Travis Williams Thanks. I have Netflix.
time for this to go viral
This series is the greatest thing ever. Every single interview has been excellent. So glad Conan is doing this.
Put this back out PROMINENTLY... super good, relevant
Love the serious side of Conan.
I really like this show. Conan has a great empathy and though it's not his every day format, he makes a great host.
I love these videos. Conan loves American history so I always love when he talks about historical figures with authors. I'm happy he is aloud to do these videos with the guests he truly cares about.
I enjoyed this more than any typical interview.
Conan on Nixon: "Imagine his late-night tweets."
Hmm
First time ever seeing a Jibber-Jabber and I must say, Conan just got 10x more attractive to me. My bad for not realizing this sooner.
Women, seeing everything with their vaginas.
+Michael Yo vagina hindsight is 20/20.
+Michael Yo She's commenting on his intellect though... Go to bed.
His intelligence and education, besides his comedic genius, is what made him find him hella attractive. No one compares.
I'm a dude and i love the guy. He's funny, extremely knowledgeable, and has a great head of hair.
I love that Conan has gone there, never forget all of our history good and especially bad, how else do we progress? Do not cancel what people have done, take it out into the daylight so everybody learns, what is acceptable and what is not….. not surprised Conan is in this conversation. ..Respect👍✌️
Conan is so underrated I don't get it
His sense of humor doesn't appeal to older people. At the same time, he is a very smart, well educated person. People just don't get him..
This is so underrated, friends. Share these with your inquisitive friends and family, history buffs, and people who enjoy learning about writers!
Need more guests like this on the podcast
This is very well done. Conan is showing his wide range of talents, Great interview.
I am surprised I've watched the entire video. Glad I did though.
I have never given Nixon much thought or consideration having only been privy to the comedic characterization of him. I learned so much about him from watching this I gotta by the book now.
Serious Jibber-Jabber, is serious awesome. Really liked the one with Jack White also.
Loved this, love Serious Jibber-Jabber. I'm always pumped when Conan decides to do one. I hope he finds someone else worth talking to sooner rather than later.
I really love these talks that Conan does, I wish these were in podcast form so I could listen as I'm driving or waiting. I hope he keeps these going for a long time.
God this was a great conversation on Nixon. Enlightening and gave some serious food for thought. Really hope more is done. Marvelous.
keep making these videos Conan, loving these interviews.
Every serious Nixon discussion breaks into impressions. Wonderful stuff!
MORE SERIOUS JIBBER JABBER!!!!! We definitely need it these days!
This is a fascinating video
Conan should replace Charlie Rose if he ever retires.
Love these talks! Please keep them coming. :) Thanks for asking my question!
#teamcoco
50:32 that is just so true!! great observation by Conan
Pat Nixon @ 42:46 is gorgeous, a real knockout.
Thanks Team Coco for bringing this gem to light. Really enjoy these and they really do give me a taste of what Conan likes about the history of presidencies.
Best interview series on RUclips
Conan, who are you?? These interviews are fascinating. Even for a dummy like me!!
that was fantastic from start to finish
this is the first serious jibber jabber i've seen, i don't even know if there's any more of them, but as an admirer of his comedy, i'm really enthused that Conan is expanding beyond his common repertoire.
51:20 damn
This would make a great podcast. Would love it if he did more of these!
51:12 - Oh how wrong he was... :D
Triple M trump makes Nixon look balanced lol
It was a delight to listen to this conversation. More episodes please :)
Conan could have a conversation about a brick wall for an hour and still make it super entertaining. I'd watch it. I don't even have any interest in Nixon, yet Conan makes it interesting.
Thank You this is GREAT GO TEAM COCO!
conan is probably the best interviewer out there
Always been very interested by Nixon, always loved Conan: DREAM VIDEO.
Thank you ;)
Boy... never thought I'd relate to Nixon. We need more of these.
another thing that's great about this is that this is something special for youtube.
This was awesome! Would love to see more.
I like conan and while the author was talking I honestly forgot he was there. still better then most RUclips schlock,
Thank you
I just learned that Jack Kennedy and John F Kennedy by the same person
How could you not know that?
A really well done interview. This is top notch stuff. More like this please.
This is fascinating. This series has given me so much to read.
great interview and discussion! more of Conan's serious interviews, please!!
Very interesting video, we need more serious jibber-jabber!
Nice, I'm looking forward to seeing more of these from you O'Brien.
Really pleasant to see Conan in a normal conversation, conducting an actual interview, not doing his screaming-creepy show character
I love watching these and have watched them more than once. Please make more, like an entire show, and maybe interview Doris Kearns Goodwin?
As a non-american, I don't care about Nixon. I just enjoy seeing this side of Coco!
As a non-American shut up, you wouldnt understand so dont comment. It dont concern you. Ur not American. Ur country isnt #1.
+mytwocents You're 50th in life expectancy, 30s in literacy and 40s in numeracy, 12th in freedom, not even top 30 in safety, and 99,000 people have died from gun violence since Sandy Hook. Fuck off with this bullshit "Murica' is number 1" rhetoric.
+Baljit Kaur The funny thing is you dont site your made up numbers or where ur from? America is a world power. Without America everything goes to shit. Now, where are u from??
+Baljit Kaur You've so far only demonstrated that you're ignorate. Just own it. Can we talk about India now?
+Baljit Kaur about eight thousand Americans a year die from fire arms in a nation of 3 million
here we can see conan is really good interview, a man who is funny but serious aswell:)
this is genius. more serious jibber-jabber Conan.
i really enjoy these. I wish you could do more.
its weird to see conan being so serious
I liked this, Conan should do stuff like this more often.
Good and deep interview, excellent stuff Conan! Cool!
I'm going through these one by one! Playing them in the background while I'm studying :)
I wish Conan would take over for Charlie Rose
I agree. He does well in the long format with truly interesting people. The "Hollywood Stars" are really fluff and vacuous and I guess he deals with them jokes.
Great stuff!
only 27k views?! these serious jibber jabber be damn serious son ! and seriously good too! #ProudlyTeamCocoNow #sorry
I have been dating this girl for 4 years, I met her on RUclips. I still have not met her in person yet but soon! Anyway this video reminds me of her.
awesome interview!
Lol I was waiting for coco to bust out with some joke or something, realized this was a serious video lol as described by the title. Good for you coco teaching us about a crook "I'm not a croooook"
This was fantastic.
This was really interesting. Thanks guys
Fascinating. I never knew Nixon had so many layers to him.
Its starting to feel that Conan doesnt enjoy the regular show no more as much and enjoys doing these serious bits more...
Agree
You are an idiot. He enjoys both
+WATSONMUTH he went to college?
+Gwendolyn H he was top of his class at Harvard
+TexMexRustlinGirl I didn't know this.
I always felt sorry for Nixon. You can feel sorry for someone without condoning their deplorable behavior. I think Nixon wanted to be a great statesman, and could have been were it not for the crippling inferiority complex which let to cheating and, ultimately, paranoia
conan i like these interviews plz do more if you want!!!!!!
Great video!!! Keep it up Cone Zone.
I still hope that he's interviewing Christopher Clark one day
Please do more
this is awesome, Conan is quite good at serious interviews too....
this webseries is fantastic
They talk about Nixon, so cool.
Seriously, this has to be more often in future! It's a shame otherwise!
It would be funny if this style of show has been Conan's calling all along
Oh god no. We need both styles
He is just so good at this style of show it makes me think he could have done this completely independent of his comedian career and been successful at it. For some people he comes off as too smart to be really funny. Kind of like if Einstein was a comedian or something.
He is smart no doubt, but he's been successful in entertaining people with his comedy. Also, comedy is subjective anyway. Some people might have enjoyed Einstein's comedy too, too bad we'll never know how good his routine would've been.
Absolutely. Never said he shouldn't do comedy, he's great imo. Lol 😆
Very interesting analysis. I like the part were they talk about the nincompoops (basically) who were chosen to do the naughty stuff for Nixon. That's oddly funny for some reason, and relieving too, as it could have been worse for the country if it had been the other way around.
I'll have to get that book. Thanks for posting this very interesting interview. Please continue this series.
I enjoy these a lot more than meaningless talk with celebrities
Haha he always sort of quiet down or lower his head a bit when he has to do the 'ask social media!' bit :P
Great video. Good job.
I remember listening to Nixon reading the audio version of his book "In The Arena". I wasn't expecting much going in, but by the end I felt kind of bad for the guy.
I believe he had the great misfortune of being a well meaning, sincere guy who through the circumstances of his years in politics and his many personality flaws, wound up making a lot of bad decisions that ended up corrupting him.
I think history will ultimately look back on Richard Nixon as a highly misunderstood, deeply flawed man. To me that's much different than a bad person.
Enlightening to watch!
