@Rich Firyn thanks. I bought the t7. My only complaint, I play daily, and in 8 months I've worn the frets more than I'd expect. I'll have to do something about it within a year or so. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Other than that the guitar is great. Awesome neck.

Not just good but GREAT playing as always Jonathon! I got the same color in H7V with P90's. After hearing your playing there was no way I was going to pass on this one! The only difference I added a Seymour Duncan P90 Antiquity in the bridge for a bit more punch. Beautifully made and crafted without a single flaw, and yeah I checked. It's become my favorite too, not because it's new but because it really does sound that darn good. It's more expressive for me playing than all my the guitars. The warmth of a hollow body to me is important too and this one delivers! It IS just as thick and rich as my full hollow body Gretsch's too!
Just picked one up based on a friend’s recommendation (he loves his), and the sounds you are getting here are really inspiring, so I had to get one. Very nice guitar indeed ! Really stellar playing Jon.
@@jurajcagan5874 I believe the H7 with the humbuckers has the smaller nut, which works perfect for me. The H7 with the P90’s has the larger nut width. As always Jon, your intro put a most welcome musical stamp on my evening!! I have always liked semi acoustic guitars, and this one sounds sweet. The more I see you playing these, the more I am being swayed in this direction for a future guitar purchase. lol Thanks for the music Jon!

@@JonIsJustTooLoud Hey Jon! Just an update, my preorder never came, but I found one in the 2nd hand market for a good price! Hihi.. 😁 And the neck and nut width... man they are perfect, just what I wanted on my axe!
Great playing as always Johnathan ! Such amazing touch and emotion in your playing ! I Got my cherry red Sire H7 last week . I have two other guitars : a Fender American deluxe strat -2008, and an Ibanez az premium , I find myself picking up the Sire more often . It’s built beautifully and the fit and finish is easily on par with my other guitars . The fretwork is probably even better than my strat and the rolled fretboard edges are super comfortable. I will blindly recommend this instrument to anybody looking for a good value for money mid range electric . I love the overdrive tones that you’re using and it certainly inspires me to start venturing into overdrive territory with this guitar !
The intro was just spot on Jon. That guitar is as good as I suspected it would be and I love the tone. They are significantly cheaper over here at €599 but it looks and sounds like a whole lot more. Great reviewJon - cheers🙂👍❤️
These are amazing guitars, especially for the price. I got an awesome deal on mine a couple months ago. 20% off coupon from Musicians Friend and then when they went to ship it, they found out they only had one left at a local guitar center but it was an open box. I made them give me an additional 10% off and the store was close enough for me to pick it up in person, and inspect it first. It was in perfect condition. The only issue was a few days after getting it home, the input jack screw came loose and the jack fell into the body. I could not get it back out to save my life. I paid a guitar shop to get it back out for $20 so no biggie. I definitely keep an eye on it now though.
Jon, excellent playing and review. Any chance that you can do a review of the Sire H7V with the P90 pickups? I have big hands so the wider neck would help. I’d go for the Yamaha SA2200 but I’m not seeing where they make it in left hand. Might need to build my own but checking with Sire to get this in left hand. Thank you sir.
Hi Jon, Thanks for this great review! For this range of semi-hollow, I’m hesitating between the Sire H7V and the Epiphone Sharaton Pro II. Which one would you recommend? Thank you for your help.
I have done some research. Old H7 models came with narrow 40mm nut, recent models have 43mm nut. There were several complaints regarding nut being too narrow, so this is most probably the reason. I am searching for 335 style guitar with thick neck and 42mm nut, but maybe the new Sire H7 could be my choice - maybe that edgeless fretboard gives 43mm nut guitar a 42mm feel…:) - Jon, what do you think?
did you personally prefer this one or the t7fm? can't find one of these in a store to check out but i do like the t7, except for the noticeable volume changes on positions 2 and 4 as you mentioned. this one looks like an old 82 ibanez artist am50 i wish i hadnt sold.
Thanks Jon. It’s nice to hear you play the H7. For some reason your tunes sound a lot better than mine on my H7. I wish I could play up the neck like you do. Maybe someday.
Hey Jon, would definitely like your opinion on the sire compared to a Dangelico semi hollow? I played a sire along time ago and it sounded amazing. And then later on, I played a DAngelico and that sounded pretty good too. Wish I could’ve done a side by side comparison. But this Sire compared to maybe a Dangelico Premier or Boardwalk in the same price range. Thanks
There is a lovely articulation in the way you play Jon, and I am wondering if those slightly brighter than imagined humbucker pickups help that along? Another guitar that makes me wonder if my lack of a hollow or semi-hollow body is something I should think about correcting!
Beautiful playing. As far as I know, the H7 comes with the 10-46 gauge. Can you please tell me did you keep it that way or used lighter strings? Are the 10s hard to bend on that guitar?
How does the Larry Carlton compare to the EART 335???? I own the Eart 335 after watching you play it and it's a really good guitar though in not a huge fan of the pickups.
Hi Jon, Does the neck feel too thick at the joints. Is it a fat neck over all? I'm planning to buy this, but not a fan of thick necked guitar. I read somewhere it feels like a cricket bat at the bottom. True ?
These are the guitars I recommend for small handed people because of the narrow fretboard (40mm nut instead of a more standard 43) but I - with very large hands - enjoy playing it as well. Just not forming a standard 3-string "A" chord on that 2nd fret! But this is why God invented 5th fret A's... B7s and E's... "just find them, mid-fretboard instead."
Hey Jon The H7 that I purchased came with 10 gauge strings but it looks like you might have been using a lighter gauge. Do you happen to remember the string gauge you were using on the H7 in this video ?
Had 4 issues with mine and returned it. Issues included being unable to have set up even professionally and even after proper truss rod adjustment. Frets are not even though they look amazing. Guitar needs to be pleked, at least this one did and that is $300. Or refiled and crowned. Add to it the pickup cavities were not large enough for the pickups to sit in properly however the guys @ Guitar Center routed these out for me. Also the tailpieces had to be replaced as it was slicing up e strings and sanding the e string hole didn't resolve the issue either. Also, the input jack decided to unloosen and fall in the body. If you find this acceptable (I did not) go for it, I find this to be horrible on a $700 guitar and most of my guitars are easily 2k+
Hi Jonathan, nice demo as usual. Beautiful guitar, seems well built for a fair price. You didn't mention in which country it was built ? Seeing that China is supporting russia in its war to Ukrain, I'm now boycotting anything from China.
No Dude ,seriously, is the EART 335, as good as the Larry Carlton???? I like the EART , but I'm thinking about swapping the pickups out for something a little more PAF sounding.
I wonder... did you boycott everything coming from the US after they started wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Yugoslavia, Syria... or is it only China that you reserve your moral indignation for?
bet the pickups on the H7 sound better than the stock pickups on a Gibson 335. These less expensive alternatives literally have te same wood and components. When you pay more you’re just paying for the brand. I’d pick an H7 over Gibson any day and wouldn’t have to swap pickups!
Hi all, I received my H7 this morning around 11:00. It's now noon and I'm about to return it. Why? That's a cheap guitar and you get what you can expect for that price. The instrument is rather well built - the assembly and finish are (very) good. No complains here. However, its playability is quite poor and it really sounds like a... cheap guitar! The notes coming from the low-end strings (E,A,D) are totaly undefined. I tried to change the height of the pickups but I couldn't get ride of that ugly/buzzy/muddied sound. The width of the neck (at headstock) is also ridiculous. Way too narrow! A really wierd profile. I think I've been fooled by reviews from (paid/endorsed) youtubers'. Greetings from France.
Well.. let’s clear one thing at the get go.. I’m not paid by Sire or anyone else involved in the video. I have no problems with the guitar that I reviewed at all. Plays well and sounds great
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Ok, so you've been lucky enough to get a descent unit. You bought it yourself or received it as a gift from Sire?
