I like how you make everything from scratch. You can make vanilla extract yourself with vodka and vanilla beans. (I gift and also barter with that!) Also if you are out of brown sugar you can make brown sugar with molasses and white sugar yourself. Love your videos and your homestead. I know have a flock of 8 partially b/c of your videos!
My belly is not only way smaller now, but also much happier. I had to leave the work force in my 40s in part due to always having to be in the bathroom. We are not meant to consume chemicals! I'm 100 pounds lighter and my skin looks baby New! All from making a change from all processed trash to scratch cooking. And compared to how you looked years ago when you first began your journey, you not only look younger but you look like you actually FEEL better too. Kudos, Sunshine!

Clearly this was before you started sifting everything. Like you, I just use a wire long handled sifter. It adds more air so it's lighter and lifts easier I also drain things like olives in it.. I use to use the actual sifter, but it was a pain, and hard to clean. These are much better.I loved your honesty about the butter and the name for the cake, but sure is good haw? lolI was thinking that would be good with just a jam laid out in a couple lines then lightly swirled around with a knife too. Or with a bit of coconut on top.We use to mix a cinnamon sugar and butter crumble and swirl it into it.For those who want a low maintenance and moveable over and stove top for Summer cooking Cuisenaire makes a large tabletop oven, some brands have a stove top on top of that, but they also have very nice hot plates that are much hotter then yesterdays and work very well all affordable and sold separately. I find with the extreme hot summers we get here (105 most of the time to 120 the rest), I hardly ever use my oven anymore even in the winter (it saves allot on elect.), but then there is only me most of the time.
Her dog's mouth is probably cleaner than your mouth and she's not asking you to eat off the dishes afterwards so calm down and it's her Channel she can talk about the weather if she wants to... I need to quit reading the comments because then I wonder why people are so OCD and nitpicky....
Have none of you eaten a butter pound cake? That usually calls for 2 sticks, or a full cup's worth of butter. Some recipes actually use a full pound of butter, because a pound cake originally had the ingredients made up in pounds. This coffee cake does not nearly deserve the name of heart-attack cake.
+crazy808ish Ya it deserves it, "Butter pound cake" just deserves... "Rest in peace" cake.Just because one is worse then the other doesn't mean the other isn't also dangerous. Personally I like both, but then I like living on the edge.
The grease isn't good for the dogs. Sorry but it will eventually cause them To have heart disease. Not good at all. Maybe wiping out the bowl with a paper towel would be better for everyone.

Coffee cake doesn't have coffee in the ingredients. It's just a name for this style of cake that is generally eaten along with coffee.
