I made the soap just like you said, only I didn’t use anything to scent it. I then let the soap cure for a year. OMG this is the best soap ever. Thank you very much.
Good to know. I'm willing to try this recipe out. Question for you: Where did you keep the soap to cure for that long? Did you cover the bars to avoid dust? Thanks in advance!
This soap is now mature and it is absolutely wonderful! I used no scent or coloring. Works miracles for my grandsons skin as since birth he has had skin issues. Soap lathers well and leaves a clean scent! Thank you
I went into this page because me and my aunt got fond and fell in love with Olive oil soaps straight from Jerusalem. It is so soft and gentle to the skin. But we didn't want to wait for someone to go to the Middle east or in Jerusalem just to get this soap. Usually we wait for our friends to go to Jerusalem to have this soap for us. Luckily, though I found this awesome video in soap making tutorial. Thanks you soo much for this video we can now have it in our very own bathrooms as well.
Hi Becky! I was looking through my Prime one day and came across this video and decided to look you up on RUclips! I had never made soap before and this video made me confident to try! I am now making all kinds of soap with this recipe as my base for friends and family. Thank you so much for all your videos!
I never worry about getting my soap to trace. I just mix it well then pour it in the mold. Not allowing it to trace allows me to pour it in my mold and it self levels nicely
Thanks Becky. I always wanted to know how to make domestic things. As a child at three years old , I tried to make perfume from Cuscus grass.!( smile) didn't succeed.
Hello there. Just got back from the pharmacy with my Lye after getting gifted 10 liters of extra virgin olive oil at work and found your video. Really easy to understand and hope my soap comes out as good as yours!!
I’m overflowing with gratitude 🙏 for you sharing your cherished homestead recipe and techniques. You’ve truly kindled a spark of inspiration in me to create soap for my loved ones 👨👩👧👦. I’m a firm believer in the beauty of simplicity! I do have one query - could you kindly share where you procure your lye beads and essential oils? The quality of ingredients can indeed be the deciding factor between a good and a great recipe. 🌿🧼
Did you use eucalyptus essential oil? What coloring do you use and where do I buy that? Thanks so much. I’ve never made soap but I think it’ll be fun and a better product for my skin.
Do you not warm up the oil? Cold oil warm lye? Commercial soap melts fast because they want to sell more. That is why I’m making home made soap. Thank you for sharing your recipe. God bless👍❤️🌺🌎
Instead of using olive oil would it work with MCT and tallow and Squalane oil as long as the fat still equals the 50 ounces? (I have sub derm, and malassazia safe oils like MCT and squalane don’t feed it, that is why I make my own soap, it’s hard to buy).
Hello. I like this recipe, and I measured everything exact. I did exactly what you did going along with you, however, my mixture is more like a gravy and isn't clump thickening ad yours. I pulsed with the stick blender a few times and manually stirred. How many times do I do this before the thickness is achieved...I hate if I ruined 50 oz of olive oil. Help😒
I did this for the first time today and I'm thinking of placing the soaps in 2-3 places separately in my wardrobes while curing so that the essential oils scent keeps my clothes smelling fresh. has anyone tried this is that a good idea ?
You can't "just dump a little in there"!!! There are safe usage rates for EO and FO! I know people are faithful to the soap channels they watch and get super crazy angry when they think someone is doggin' out their soaper but YALL! Please please check the safe usage rate for any fragrance you add to your bath and body products. It's just smart soaping!
and maam i just want to make 1 soap for my social project so can you tell how much should i add for only 1 soap?? and i dont have scale in my home what should i do maam
Hi Becky, I know this video was a long time ago but….. what percent did you Superfat this at? I was also wondering if you used fragrance oil or essential oil……. OH!!!… And where are your gloves???
Oof...not wood, lye and other alkalines degrade it and will cause splintering. And a good quality stainless steel, like 18 gauge is great for soaping. But not aluminum or tin. I don’t know about pewter.
I have never made soap before and recently, I discovered there are some bottles of oils in tbe cabinet, and there are old coconut oil (about 2 years-old) and 2 litres of extra virgin olive oil that will expire next month. Questions: a) Can I use expired olive/coconut oil to make these lovely soaps? b) I also have some rancid olive oils in the shelf. Can I use the rancid oils for the soap-making, and c) Is it safe to use them? Thank you!
RUclips algorithm never fails. I just watched a video on Palestinian soap makers yesterday.

I love your accent! Beautiful voice.
Thanks for the video. What happens if you use regular tap water instead of distilled? Would rain water be okay to use?
Love your channel! I'm watching from the UK, so when you want the Lye and water to be 100 degrees do you mean Fahrenheit or Celcius?
Fahrenheit probably, it’s annoying we don’t have the same measurements around the word right?!
she is considering 100 Fahrenheit , that means 37.7 Celcius
step one: make soap LAST YEAR
Wonderful...I used gloves too...😊
Love that bowl!! What kind is that?
Thank you. I have watching the videos. I finanlly have all the tools I need.
This reminds me of that one spongebob episode when Mr Krabs made krabby patty soap
I love mint with eucalyptus!!
U r such a jolly person
I just clicked the video and I am excited already. +_+
I was just rewatching your soap videos. I need to use up lard that I rendered a year ago so I will be doing that first. Laura
👍 well done
How long does it take to make soap with a whisk? Yours looks light, mine looks dark.. I've been mixing for like 3 hours. Still not thick. :(

Is it possible to use a blender?
Hi I watch a lot of you videos and this is one of them. How would I weigh colladial oats in this recipe. I am a beginner soaper
Like two tablespoons per pound and discount some of the water to dissolve it and add after trace. Because it can cook and give salad trace
Where do you buy the lye beads??

Homestead park can i use animal fat heated into oil or even different types of oil instead? Thanks in advance for ur answer and great video.
2675gordo use a online soap calculator. Any type of oil can be used but, that’s a specific recipe needs an exact amount of lye
The benefit of this recipe is that you avoid artificial fragrance and colors which can irritate the skin, they just aren’t needed.
Can you use Lye Powder? or does it need to be Lye Beads?
Can you add a little sugar to this to make it lather?
Shout out idol
It's time I get back to making my soap
Can i use electric beater?
Can we use this for face and body?
Yes, olive oil soap is awesome for your skin. You will love it☀️❤️☀️
I bought some olive oil/baking soda soap from Palestine and it is amazing. I tried to make the 2 guys soap but it came out soft. Hoping it will cure.
Wow, Jean Willis, may i ask you where you bought the olive oil/baking soda soap? i love that.Love & Light
Baking soda was a mistranslation he said lye
No such thing as baking soda soap from Palestine
They translate lye to baking soda that is why Love
I've used paper empty Joyce cans peel off & slice soap
Dose it lack lather?
Hi Becky, I know this video was a long time ago but….. what percent did you Superfat this at? I was also wondering if you used fragrance oil or essential oil……. OH!!!… And where are your gloves???
Ideally, metal utensils should be avoided when using lye, especially pewter and aluminium. Wood or plastic is better.
Oof...not wood, lye and other alkalines degrade it and will cause splintering. And a good quality stainless steel, like 18 gauge is great for soaping. But not aluminum or tin. I don’t know about pewter.
