Hey everyone, I hope you enjoyed the video! My apologies about calling spiders insects. I should have said arthropod. I believe Neekerbreekers are also arthropods as well! My mistake! Let me know if there are any others and I'll try to amend them here! I also wanted to say that I didn’t add the Beornings as they were men with the gift of skin changing, and they were not actual animals themselves. But Vampires and Werewolves (besides when Sauron shape shifted into them) seem to be actual beasts within Tolkien’s works. To me it seems like Vampires are large bats and Werewolves are large wolves, and both have evil spirits within them.
Hey Men of the West, this was a great video. The animals play a big part in the story, but usually aren't talked about. Thank you for giving them their credit. I also want to ask, could you please do a Theory video on the three Elvin rings? Like what if they never lost their powers after the one ring was destroyed.
Thank God you post these types of videos because as a Lord of the Rings total fan, every single bit of information on every single character I must know and there is an endless supply of knowledge to be gained. Even just the Silmarillion is confusing as can be and full of so many amazing characters.
@@MenoftheWest Thank you, Yoystan! I happen to be a pretty big of The Lord of the Rings too. Particularly for the film adaptations of it. Thank you, I remembering reading about the wereworms for the first time years ago and immediately thought of the giant sand worms of Arakis of Dune. I thought I was just getting my books mixed up.
From the early versions of the Hobbit, we can be quite sure that they were meant to be Chinese-style dragons. Tolkien eventually removed his reference to China and all other real world places in a revision, so no trace of this original description is found in the published Hobbit. Worm in Tolkien's writings often means dragon, so it makes complete sense that "were-worms of the east" are a kind of dragon inspired by eastern cultures.

Great video! I was kinda waiting for you to mention Fastitocalon (gigantic sea turtle), but then again it's just a story, and not confirmed to really exist in Middle-Earth. I just recently learned that Fastitocalon is not Tolkien's own creation, but it is a monster from an old english poem. Tolkien implemented the creature (and the name) into the lore of Middle-Earth by making his own poem, which was well-known by the hobbits. I like the theory this giant turtle is not an actual living creature, but an allegory for of the fall of Numenor.

Didn’t see this the night it came out because I was busy. Enjoyed greatly, nevertheless!
Could you do a video covering the countries and continents of Arda as wrll as brief summaries of their histories (if possible)?
Could you do a video on: if middle earth had cars, how long would the drive be to Mordor and other places??? That would be a fun video :)
