Absolutely wonderful cover of Midnight Rider. The Allman Brothers Band maybe are my all time favorite band. Loved their music but the band was torn apart repeatedly in so many ways but somehow persevered. Saw them many times and Gregg as well. I’m 66YO. I’m going to see Zach Williams tonight 10/5/23 in Providence RI and I totally just stumbled across this song by accident. I had no idea he did this cover. I absolutely love Zach’s music and didn’t find faith until my mid to late 50’s. I hope and pray he does this song tonight so I can sing along. I know every word. Wonderful rendition of Gregg’s song. Miss you Gregg, RIP
If I ever went back to church, it would be because of Zach Williams. Who knew he could re-incarnate the Allman Brothers? Talk about opposites attract, this is a perfect version! Would like to hear more covers along with his fabulous Christian music. Love it all!
I love Zach's music. Midnight rider was one of my favorite songs and Zach's version is the best. Thank you Zach for honoring a great singer and song writer. RIP Gregg Allman....
I think y'all were thinking the same thing I was when this song came out. Ya know back in that day couldn't sing this way for Jesus. Crowder got alot of hate for it, but you Relate to the children in the language of the children ✝️🌹❤️✝️
@@actionarslan ??? What are you talking about? This classic, world famous song was composed by Greg Allman and Robert K. Payne. Excerpt: ""Midnight Rider" is a song by the American rock band the Allman Brothers Band. It was the second single from their second studio album, Idlewild South (1970), released on Capricorn Records. The song was primarily written by vocalist Gregg Allman, who first began composing it at a rented cabin outside Macon, Georgia. He enlisted the help of roadie Robert Kim Payne to complete the song's lyrics. He and Payne broke into Capricorn Sound Studios to complete a demo of the song." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midnight_Rider
BroKelly if you knew his history then you would appreciate why he did that. It still shows his vocal ability and his band’s musical ability. It also may catch the ear of an unbeliever, and when they go to check out his other stuff... stuff they normally wouldn’t listen to, they will hear of God’s goodness. I happen to think he did a great job on this cover. As good as if not better than anyone else who has attempted to do Allman Bros songs.
Jeremie Fountain It kills me when people say he’s falling to worldly pleasure. I’m a Christian and I do country and gospel music. Many unbelievers won’t listen to my albums if it was all gospel but if I put both on there, they’ll listen to the country and have to listen to a couple gospel songs I do also. I love country music but I also love good gospel music. There’s nothing wrong with that
You might want to see Rhett Walker on this subject. He does both genres so his music is heard by more and come to his concerts and hear gospel preached during it. Maybe you're not for that, but "go and tell" isn't limited and neither is our God!
To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.
Absolutely wonderful cover of Midnight Rider.

Zach Williams originally wrote this song. Allman performed first
not even close. this song was composed in the 70's -
Laurie Hansen I’ve looked around, I don’t even think this is a cover.

But it sure sounds like Allman and band, doesn't it?
Why? Jesus songs then this song? Don't start falling to worldly garbage Zach!
