I'm a Broncos fan, usually I'm not gonna defend the chargers, but Bozeman did not deserve a penalty there. Shepard was being a dirty player trying to hurt their star QB and he literally engaged while he was still attacking Herbert. Like that should NEVER be a penalty to intervene when a player is getting maliciously injured. The fact that Shepard wasn't Ejected for targeting just shows how broken the NFL's officiating is.

Correct, and what's worse IMO is that the League MULTIPLE times this year have buzzed into the officials during a game with a "on the spot" review to correct a missed or bad call. Why didn't they do it here?

This is a penalty, but there are good and bad penaltys to take. From an official of lacrosse/ hockey. My past player speaking here i never did it with the intent to injury but its for the teams greater good, you take the penalty and play a man down. The man down squad practices for a reason, same with the back ups for football.

How is that a twist when he didn't even spun?

The most charitable look toward him is that he was trying to get the sack using the gator roll and hadn't realized Herbert had thrown the ball already

I dunno he clearly began to try to sack him while the QB was still holding the ball, and while it looks longer with slow mo, it was probably within a few seconds after the throw Bosa went to defend his qb from him

I saw the game and the play. Shepard did not know that Herbert had pitched the ball. He was attempting to get a sack. The video does not show the pitch.

I didn't think it could get dirtier than Garrett Nelson trying to rip off A.J. McCarron's bad leg in the UFL last year but this.... is awful.

Dirty play...100%. Bozeman did the right thing. Should have been a personal foul unsportsmanlike 15 yards and a first down AND the player is ejected. Chargers making the playoffs? I'll need to see a lot more Offense in these next couple of games.

Should be an instant 10 game suspension and a $50,000 fine. You simple can not do that and expect to get away with it. Malicious intent/trying to end a career should be heavily punished. I mean, what else was he trying to do? I'd love for someone to try and explain how this way clean or "not that bad".

In all fairness, the way Herbert passed the ball may have not been seen by him. I had to look at it twice to see the pass.

In 2024 football is daed. He was clearly in the heat of the moment trying to get a sack. He was laying on the ground behind Herbert and clearly had no vision on the ball. He was just trying to make a play for his team.

I'm glad Bozeman drilled that guy. What we need in the NFL is more NHL players. Guys that will absolutely protect their 'goalie' - play the full 60 - and deliver on gameday. Put a 'C' on Boseman's jersey and keep it there. It's the right thing to do.
