It does help the traffic, by taking some of the cars away from the road. But that's just for a certain amount of time. After all, metro systems could end up defeating its own purpose if not setup properly. Here, the traffic in the first few years when the metro opened, it decreased certain amount of cars. But then several years later, the influence of the metro has caused more business, housing etc. That caused more people to use the metro, making it crowded. Since it's crowded, some people chose to drive instead. I just feel like the town planning and transportation system here are setup not very well.
@@firmthanakrit9459 It is a problem created by it's own successes. Have they built in extra space for more cars on the platforms or is it at capacity? They can always increase the interval time. Hopefully, they can increase more lines and capacity, there is nothing worse than being stuck in traffic. Singapore is a great example of quick metro that is not too busy, hopefully they are planning for that success. Even London is still constructing more lines and extensions.
For now, every platform has some space for additional train cars. But I think the main problem with us is that, we don't have a good feeder system. There are alot of services other than metro, but it's not really a planned system from the first. As most of them came before the metro was built and people don't really want to change services.
I may do another video on this, as the system expands very quickly. But here's a brief update: Gold line was opened (2020) Red line will be testing real operation within this year. Orange, pink, yellow lines are still under construction.
@@firmthanakrit9459 Thanks. I was in Thailand last year but had to leave because of border closure. Im currently waiting for normal border to open so I can get back.
@@firmthanakrit9459 looking forward to another video with the updates. Pleas include all the planned and under construction lines. Really exciting to see metro lines in Bangkok are expanding fast.
The gold line APM has opened in October 2020. And following that, another APM in Thailand is going to be opened as a terminal transit train in Suvarnabhumi Airport (Which doesn't really count as a metro system). I may do an update video on the metro system later.
Woah! Thanks for English version.
I'm doing it for all the videos. Means: 1 topic has 2 videos, 2 languages.
@@firmthanakrit9459 OK! Waiting for your next upload soon.
Actually, not all. Some might have both Thai and English, Some don't. Depends on the audience that I aim to.

AGT Gold line,too. 2020
Interesting, it would be good to see it overlayed over a map. Has it improved travel times and traffic over the times each station opened?
