One issue of Bangkok, is that it has too many different companies running different lines with various of traffic IC cards, and transfer stations are named different names, it's hard to find the right way. That's so confusing and challenging particularly to foreigners.
@@linusfotograf All traffic cards are accepted in almost all of the systems in Tokyo. Like I can use JR Hokkaido Kitaca travelling on every metro line in Tokyo rather than holding Tokyo Suica, that's much different from Bangkok's.

For example, Tokyo Metro, Toei Subway & JR all have "Iidabashi" 飯田橋, so passengers can easily know where to transfer between railway systems instead of having to know 2 or 3 different names at the same place. I’m Thai, In 1999, I was an office worker in Siam Center area. I was excited to ride the BTS for the first time. Now Thailand has expanded its transportation system very well. It is convenient to travel. At present, it is possible to travel out of the city in every province. You make this vdo clip easy to understand both past, present and future.👍👍👍
If anyone has complaints about the current state of the Bangkok public transit system, they should travel back in time about 20 years when this system was in it's infancy. I arrived in Bangkok for the first time in 2002 when only the BTS with about 20 stations existed. It was good, but not very extensive and you still needed to take taxis to most destinations. At that time, Bangkok traffic was rated as the worst in the world by The Economist. Worse still, getting a taxi at rush hour was nearly impossible as many drivers simply didn't want to pick up passengers and get stuck in traffic somewhere. In short, getting around Bangkok in 2002 was a nightmare. I returned to Bangkok in 2022, this time long term, and between the BTS, metro, and Grab it's incredibly easy to get around the city now. Even though the BTS and metro require different cards, it's still a pleasure traveling around this city today.
As a tourist, yes you'll have a good time travelling around. But for people who work here, it's better to buy a car because public transport is not very reliable which makes Bangkok has one of the worst traffic jams in the world.
Try living through the same circumstances as most of the people who live in bangkok and commute daily around the area without privilege, paying full taxes and still cant afford to get to use the service as frequent.
For the longest time I heard that we couldn't have subway in Bangkok because of the sunken ground and what not. Then all these projects started to happen. I am happy with what we have, even if they are not as reaching as they should. Or being cheaper to make it more competitive to bus fares. Currently, the price was a couple of notch below Tokyo, which is not good considering the cost of living between the two cities.
I think Tokyo is 2-3 times more expansive that. Bangkok is a very big city and based on tens of kilometers the price is not that high (litel). The main problem is not having unlimited monthly and annual subscriptions like in other countries. At home the metro is much more expensive, single price (regardless of the number of stations, per zone) of 70B for Zone 1 (just the City) (example 1 Bangkok, 2 Nanthaburie, 3 bang yai, 4 Ayutthaya. As a regular visitor to BKK, I’m happy that the rail network is expanding continually. Upon arrival at airport, I will make an effort to take rail transport to downtown. I only wish tourists will only require one card to use the different rail system. In Singapore, you will use one standard EZ link card to take the different lines of our railway and it’s also used for public buses too! Moreover, passenger are charged by distance, whether you switch to different line or continue from train to bus. Super user friendly and affordable.😅
All MRT and SRT lines support EMV contactless cards (Visa, Mastercard). You can tap your credit card at these systems. Only BTS and the Airport Link have their own transit cards.

Bangkok could have been so much better with commuter rails. Sadly the state railway did not pay attention enough to make it convenient for most people living in the outskirts (poor conditions of the trains, fewer scheduled services like 1 tph or no train at all during daytime, lots of rail crossing with the roads, and difficulty in changing between railway station and other modes of transport)

Great job. Next time I go to the Southern bus station for Hua Hin, I'll take the light red line to Taling Chan, and then a bus or motorbike taxi. And in future years, there maybe another line going south to the main road. Mind you, someone else may then move the bus station, or minivan hub lol.
I am on my knees BEGGING you to do a video on Vancouver and all the proposed extensions. Also cool history with the now lost tram lines and the still existing west coast express rail
Just a suggestion: Maybe the station names should fade out when the map zooms out too much? It can get a bit messy, such as at 7:22 Anyway, it's a great video, especially with the purple line's extension coinciding with the music lol
For my part I find the network, efficient, clean, safe and pleasant. NICE WORK, BUT If the network works well, it is possible to do better. I think Thais and Bangkok deserve to have the best metro in the world, to make Tokyo jealous. A few mining for improvement in my opinion: 1) 1 card for all metro, and 1 unlimeted abonement (expensif is not a probleme) for exemple 4-5000B/ mount if the card in addition could be reloaded in the seven-11 and pay for small races, such as vending machines. This would be perfect!!! 2) (although I think that the MRT stations (should be more decorated, what was done for the station Wat Mangorn (dragon temple) should be extended to all the main stations. For Stations, take inspiration from the Moscow Metro (there are plenty of Thai artists who would be very happy to offer works to decorate the metro.) Why not ? 3) MRT are large but Sorely lacking benches, it is only recently that there are more benches (only two benches per station) Pregnant woman, handicapped, old people, tired thai worker, tourist exhausted from heat and walking ) people are painfully waiting for their train, and it is just unavoidable) 4)In addition to the name of the Station, for tourists, it would be good to indicate the main attractions and centers of attraction around the station (why not show them on the screens (even if it means stopping advertisement just for 10 seconds) 5) More panels with the representation of the stations would be a plus (especially on the Siam Station where this is really missing (it is also not clear enough the direction where the train is going (heat, tied, lost, add a big arrow on the map to know where going the train and the direction would be a big UP. 6)Create an interactive website with all train, companies (boat and principal Bus) and attractions in Bangkok. You calculate the point of origin and where you want to go, the site tells you which metro, change, duration, cost and how many meters you will have to walk, or may be propose you to catch a taxi, bot, etc which also Bus number etc (also in MRT/BTS give the door number) the website could also communicate on the filling of the metro, and offer to postpone the journey for a few minutes (when the user peak is lower) And I recommend you to do it in multi language (minimum Thai and English,) But Chinese and Japanese tourists, like French are often really bad in English... The number of tourists coming from Eastern Europe and Russia increasing, Russian would also be interesting . Maybe Korean, Spanish and Arabic (to really help a maximum of tourists helping) in the future maybe also Vietnamese will come in mass. The site could also present the attractions near each station and make suggestions according to the district of residence and its Hotel. 7) if the metro is generally very clean. There are always traces of glue, greasy dirt (escalator, etc.) (the Metro Shit) in certain places (debris at heights) (something that cleaning ladies will have trouble cleaning on a daily basis) It would therefore be good to add a dedicated team each quarter to pass in each station in order to clean the rebel traces and prevent the accumulation of dirt (particularly necessary where the classic cleaning ladies cannot go or do) This type of cleaning does not need to be frequent, but twice a year. Of course it's ideas for improvement, the networks and already great. But we can make it even better. best regards
I know I have been to there last 3 years. Our country will make the same you. But It must build up the railway system to more or until to finished before. Now can't make it like that.
When I was young I always wonder why they didn’t expand the line from National Stadium but a few years ago when I passed the area next to the station I can clearly see why also it’s very funny that I’d passed that area for a few times when it’s very close to my house.
Singapore is the best hands down. Saying this as a Thai. Their ezylink card, the efficient urban and transit planning. Bangkok is very inefficient as driven by corruption influenced by companies like ช การช่าง, shopping malls and oligarchs who own large chunks of land. There's zero urban planning in Bangkok.
The first two lines invest by private company (BTS) which pass downtown area (gold area). BTS control the heart of bangkok that make more negotiate power with government.
I rode the first Sky Train on the second day it opened, Dec. 6, 1999. Now I live walking distance to a Pink Line station. What used to take all day in a car can now be done in an hour and at a tenth the cost of a taxi. The Sky Train makes Bangkok one of the most successfully progressive cities in the world. Every big city has problems but Bangkok is actively working to solve them.
At least it's in progress despite most of the planned has been designed more than 2 decades ago. I've stuck 1 full hour on Lard Prao Rd. the opening day of a shopping mall on that road back in 1995 (now defunct).
The more they constucts the more we gained the benefits for traffic conveniences,Don't take it too serious about the routes and their colors as it's connectable,Most simple ways is what station you're in and the destinations you're expecting to go then just buy one day card(rabbit card) at the station and study the English map plan or inquire the officials in each station which they were managed to assist all passengers and ceretainly the Thai are feel free to help all tourists when the inconvenience has caused, Please enjoy your visiting and seeing Thailand.

I'm very sorry, may I ask why I didn't see the yellow line and connected it to the purple line after crossing the river from Samrong?
Very impressive
Best city
Thank you so much for this 🙏
Bangkok expanding just like other cities with the metro system also expanding as the population grows.
The only country in the world is China that is building a subway to accommodate its population growth. Any other country plans to build a subway in the jungle would say it’s not worth the money, including your country.
This is amazing and exciting at the same time. I hope when this happens, Thailand is ready to take in more and more tourists and immigrants.
Can't wait to see all these lines built. I love trains.
I’m from Thai I support Thai TYSM🇹🇭
I born in 2016
Wowwww I really wait for videos, I love ur content bro.
Btw will u make more videos on Mumbai , Bangalore or Hyderabad. Their metros are expanding rapidly. I know u have already made a video on Delhi metro & I have watched it but I want u to make one on other cities mentioned above,Its a request from ur Indian fan🇮🇳❤
One things I salut bkk is when they built mrt bts etc they did not much disturb the road traffic n very fast completed. Mysia mrt one block of base takes above 5 yrs n need to use up to 80% Road n closed road sometimes...
The blue line is a figure 6 driving. The Oedo Line of the Tokyo subway is also a figure-of-six operation. Tokyo Oedo Line = Bangkok Blue Line
and the Red line (SRT) in Bangkok = RER in Paris
This is impressive development.
สุดยอดครับ
Currently, the Yellow Line is open for service. June 2023
Mono rail from Lardprow to Samrong 30 Km
Add more convenience. Total distance is 242 km.
ตั้งใจทำมาก thank you
Really excited for the upcoming projects.
Thank you I'm from Bangkok I like your channel I will subscribe and like
The yellow line just opened today, I am looking forward to using the trains in the future
Very interesting. Love this animation.
Bangkok keep moving so fast and sustainable, one of the great city to visit
As a Thai, I disagree with the latter one lol.
Is kuala lumpur/greater Klang valley on your list for future vid?
Which city would like to see next?
San Francisco or Barcelona, maybe?
Budapest,Hungary
Tbilisi and Barcelona.
(Have been asking for Tbilisi for long)
barcelona would be pretty cool, it has a good metro system
some African cites
Excelente video
I am thai and I love bts (Bangkok transit system)
New Camera movement is little bit weird, but I think this video still good!
Very good video... The best video about BMTS of Thailand.
I am really glad the animation Thank you🙂
As a Thai, I saw many problem happened in this project that prepare to open this year (2023), but I hope some planned in Future section will become one of this project and I hope they don't cancel it.
Great video! I wish you could do a video on Athens, Greece as it has just started construction on its 4th line and there are several proposals!
As a Thai person, all this will probably not be completed in the next 25-50 years because of how many challenges Thailand faces with transportation
Great video man. Can you make a video about Mumbai, it has railway system and metro system and also has a monorail system. Would be great to see my city:). Love your videos brother❤
thank you 3 times
wow bangkok sky train never end😮
and the sky train map is big wow😮
i love the map❤
It can get a bit messy, such as at 7:22
Anyway, it's a great video, especially with the purple line's extension coinciding with the music lol
OMG! Bangkok is awesome!
With all projects done soon as possible. Love Bangkok ❤
Thank you!
For my part I find the network, efficient, clean, safe and pleasant. NICE WORK, BUT If the network works well, it is possible to do better. I think Thais and Bangkok deserve to have the best metro in the world, to make Tokyo jealous. A few mining for improvement in my opinion:
1) 1 card for all metro, and 1 unlimeted abonement (expensif is not a probleme) for exemple 4-5000B/ mount
if the card in addition could be reloaded in the seven-11 and pay for small races, such as vending machines.
3) MRT are large but Sorely lacking benches, it is only recently that there are more benches (only two benches per station) Pregnant woman, handicapped, old people, tired thai worker, tourist exhausted from heat and walking ) people are painfully waiting for their train, and it is just unavoidable)
4)In addition to the name of the Station, for tourists, it would be good to indicate the main attractions and centers of attraction around the station (why not show them on the screens (even if it means stopping advertisement just for 10 seconds)
5) More panels with the representation of the stations would be a plus (especially on the Siam Station where this is really missing (it is also not clear enough the direction where the train is going (heat, tied, lost, add a big arrow on the map to know where going the train and the direction would be a big UP.
6)Create an interactive website with all train, companies (boat and principal Bus) and attractions in Bangkok.
You calculate the point of origin and where you want to go, the site tells you which metro, change, duration, cost and how many meters you will have to walk, or may be propose you to catch a taxi, bot, etc
which also Bus number etc (also in MRT/BTS give the door number)
the website could also communicate on the filling of the metro, and offer to postpone the journey for a few minutes (when the user peak is lower)
And I recommend you to do it in multi language
(minimum Thai and English,) But Chinese and Japanese tourists, like French are often really bad in English...
There are always traces of glue, greasy dirt (escalator, etc.) (the Metro Shit) in certain places (debris at heights) (something that cleaning ladies will have trouble cleaning on a daily basis) It would therefore be good to add a dedicated team each quarter to pass in each station in order to clean the rebel traces and prevent the accumulation of dirt (particularly necessary where the classic cleaning ladies cannot go or do)
This type of cleaning does not need to be frequent, but twice a year.
Of course it's ideas for improvement, the networks and already great.
But we can make it even better.
best regards
missed Yellow Line extends Latphrao > Phahonyothin 24
Waiting for Kuala Lumpur! Subscribed.
673km!?!? Oh gosh... What a convenience to going around Greater Bangkok with public transit 😊😊😊
can you make one for Stuttgart, Germany? It would be very cool to see how my city developed over the years :)
I know I have been to there last 3 years. Our country will make the same you. But It must build up the railway system to more or until to finished before. Now can't make it like that.
I clicked on like and subscribed^^
thank you Lung tu
When I was young I always wonder why they didn’t expand the line from National Stadium but a few years ago when I passed the area next to the station I can clearly see why also it’s very funny that I’d passed that area for a few times when it’s very close to my house.
2 days ago BKK just opened thier tenth line : Pink Line
From Thailand here.
Out of the public trains in different countries and cities I visited, Bangkok has to be one of the best for me.
Wow Thailand is Amazing beautiful wonderful powerful country 🌏💙
3 June 2023 -- Yellow Line is open for a passenger test-run.

I knew that you will back >:³
Very high-quality vid indeed. Btw, what 2nd music did you use? It's quite good.
No wonder every time I come to Bangkok it feels like there's a new line.
