I love how takumi always wins because either his opponent makes a mistake (here the evo passes him too early) or he finds a new technique (gutter technique n°2) or finds a flaw in his opponent driving or creates one (headlights turned off) and not because of some "Fujiwara zone" bullsh*t like in stage 5
The Fujiwara Zone is what allows him to execute the Gutter Run/Ditch Turn No. 2 without having practiced it before, it allowed him to copy Kai's shortcuts on Iroha Slope, to do the Blind Ditch Turn against Joshima, etc. Stage 5 represented it quite poorly(among a number of other errors), but all it is is Takumi's knack for optimizing the 86's turning when he's "in the zone", leading to abnormal acceleration in the latter portion of a corner.
@@chaotixthefoxOP probably missed 5th Stage Ryouske narrating how he witnessed Fujiwara Zone on Mt. Akina. That it existed, like you said, since 1st stage. 😅
@@jiffonbuffoI think the distinction here is that the 'Fujiwara Zone' occurences from pre-Stage 5 were generally more believable, like 'Takumi's touge street racer senses kicking in to give him ideas' type of deal.
From Stage 5 onwards, Fujiwara Zone is just used as an excuse to give Takumi godlike speed and have him auto-win the race. Ryosuke saying the 'Fujiwara Zone' was present in Takumi's early races doesn't change the fact that the later ones had some complete BS involved in them.

In terms of soundtracks, I think this race is by far the best one by a long shot, literally every moment when the music plays is an instant classic.

This whole race was perfectly done in terms of sound, not only was the soundtrack fantastic, but the tire and engine sounds were better than most other races.
You know.. I'm actually happy he won, it's real intense if he somehow didn't overtake him but he did!
It's because of how much more powerful the Lan Eva is to the 86. I was so sure he was gonna loose and it was soooo close.

There's a history behind that chime, 86 was built in the early to mid 80's. And from what we know, in the 80's there was an oil crisis.
The manufacturers installed that speed chime in most of the 80's cars during that time. It was to warn the drivers that the car was going at a really high speed.
The higher the speed is the more gas it consumed, so they put a speed chime to warn the drivers and it's ringing meant it was time to slow down.
