    I wouldn't worry about others looking at you, a bike is a bike.. regardless of make or spec, as long as your having fun that's all that matters.. 100 percent FACT. also I think the careers vengeance is a tidy looking bike..

  • @themarauder6108
    @themarauder6108 3 года назад +8

    The problem with Carrera bikes is the parts they're built with, they're extremely cheap, heavy and sometimes mismatched which makes them awful to ride. I've changed quite a lot on mine, i removed most of the tacky decals, swapped the suntour forks for Rockshox and replaced the mismatched shimano crap for a SRAM 1x11 drivetrain. No point buying a top tier bike because you'll be afraid to damage it, best to buy a beater like the Carrera and upgrade it a little.

    • @ashjsmith
      @ashjsmith 2 года назад

      How did you manage to get the decals off? Look like they’re under the clear coat?

    • @themarauder6108
      @themarauder6108 2 года назад

      @@ashjsmith , I didn't, the main decals on the frame are under the clearcoat so it's not possible unless you strip the paint. The decals on the fork, wheels and some of the smaller decals on the frame can be removed using a heat gun though.
      Riding a Carrera is nothing to be ashamed of, mine still has the bright green logos on it but now it's actually got high quality parts bolted to it i've had no issues with it.

    • @ashjsmith
      @ashjsmith 2 года назад

      @@themarauder6108 perfect. Thank you for letting me know so quickly. I love my Carrera, I have the orange Vengeance and the colour looks great. I think it would look cool completely decal free. I will remove the decals you’ve mentioned and see how it looks. :) 👍🏻

    • @themarauder6108
      @themarauder6108 2 года назад

      @@ashjsmith Just be careful when removing the decals on the rims. When i removed them on my bike some of the paint came away with the decals. Get them nice and hot then use a plastic scraper, don't use metal. You might want to get some Muc-off glue and sealant remover too because the decals leave a sticky residue.

If your planning on doing loads of trail riding and want to throw the bike around a bit a 20 inch frame could be better as you'll be more in control. Your like me in-between sizes, I normally always go XL bikes. I had a 20 inch Carrera Sulcata before which was good, just had the seat up high for commuting. Apollo valier, Apollo gradient, Carrera hustle1, Carrera hustle 2 and Carrera vengeance
    I know it’s a long list but if you could recommend me one, it’ll be a huge help!
    Most of my ride is going to be on the road, sometimes I might go on mild trails.

    Thank you!

    • @willsmtb5129
      @willsmtb5129  3 года назад +4

      Hi, I think that makes you 5foot 7inches? Go with a medium Vengeance potentially, although if you can sit on a large to see how it feels. I like to ride slightly larger bikes when on road.
      The Apollo is an entry level bike which are generally very heavy, I've not had good experiences with Apollo bikes!
      I've ridden my vengeance hard and for many miles and it's still going, for off road ridding you just reduce the trye pressures.
      It says you'd be an 18 inch frame on the Halfords website 👍🏻
