A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

I like the steering wheel design. It doesn't look like an airbag with a ring surrounding it.
Love my 16 GTI Autobahn. The dynamic suspension is incredible. With some bolt ons and a tune, it really is a fun little car that maintains practicality with good mpg and can hang with some of the higher power competitors.

Incredible video. Just bought one today.
I own one. I love it, mines metallic grey with a red stripe on the bottom. When I test drove it I was very impressed with the acceleration and all the cool creature comforts. At first my wife didn’t like it, Until she drove it, she feels differently now
Just got my today, color and trim are same except mine is a manual. Going to be delivered tomorrow, cannot wait!

It's a shame SEAT don't sell cars in the US, I could imagine the Leon Cupra would sell well. Same platform and engine, but 280 hp, very close in price but more interesting and attractive (in my eyes).
***** In my eyes the same applies to the Skoda Octavia RS (220hp or 230hp with the edition 230). The prototype for the RS+ has also been spotted. You can suggest that it will have 280hp too.
I would be torn between the Cupra ST and RS+ Combi/Station Wagon.

Very first car I ever had was a 1984 RabbitGTi. Really loved that car. Two door. The way a GTi should be. 4-doors is just wrong.

I own this car and I love it :) 6 speed manual though!
One interesting detail I noticed while watching the video : the door hinges of that mk7 look ... normal. At least compared to the mk6 ! I was really impressed by the door hinges of the mk6, because they are very thick and wide, and the mechanism that gives the three steps when you open the door is quite unusual with its levers, bearings and thick steel parts. When I saw that I said to myself "ok, that's what they mean by German over-engineering !" While, in the mk7 that is show in that video, the door hinges look perfectly reasonable, and we can see the usual thin metal "stick" with it's three notches going inside the door that we see in every single car. Also when you closed the door at 15:58, we can hear something rattle, maybe my memory is playing me tricks, but I don't remember the mk6 doing that, or maybe it was because the window was down... anyway I read that VW made many optimizations and took many measures to reduce the production time and cost of the mk7 compared to the mk6 ... When I see what is qualified as "normal engineering" today, even though "over-engineering" might be more expensive for no good reason, in the end I appreciate it, I hope that VW is not abandoning that philosophy :-(
Nice review Kyle. I really like how Volkswagen gave the new Golf GTI has a more competitive look than what the previous design had.
I also agree with you that there should be USB ports in the vehicle as most new ones now come with it as standard equipment.

I love my 2015 gti. But if you get one, get the lighting package, totally regret not getting it. You can't add anything on after you buy it unless it's aftermarket.

the diff and the paint work is the strengths to this car.
Finally! The GTI is such a nice all around package (performance, price, comfort, practicality, and economy!). MQB platform is a quantum leap rather than an evolution.
when shooting the video of the exhaust from outside @ 15:16, do you remember what driving mode (normal or sport) you were in? auto (D or S) or manual? thanks!
Looks like the GTI might suffer from the same problem I recently experienced in the Passat. Did you happen to notice that the gas pedal was way too far to the right? It resulted in me having to cram my leg against the center console to keep from accidentally hitting the brake. I don't understand why they bunched the pedals all the way over on the automatic version.

Love the vids! The only small correction I have for people is that it requires premium fuel to reach peak HP but can take regular unleaded as standard.
why the break lights blinks with the hazard lights? yellow rear blinkers are not allowed in america?

Sometimes it's hard to believe that the Golf is still in production. Also, it's been a few years since I have seen an abundance of new VW vehicles.

Why is there no led headlights at the back? I have a gti and i have the special gti headlights that look much better! It wasn't optional it came alreday in the gti package

What's your favorite car out of all the ones you have reviewed
I know one person who has this car and she says she is at the dealer every week trying to figure out where the current rattle is coming from. I guess for the price they had to cut somewhere.
