You are correct he probably feels like the club is his, but that should push him to try harder, not create tension in the dressing room.
United has had 6 managers (if you want to include Rangnick as interim) in a decade and all have failed. At this point, it is pretty evident the reasons for the failures are poor leadership and poor recruitment. This doesn't mean that if United had good leadership and good recruitment that all of those managers would have worked. But, we bounced from manager to manager whom all had different styles of play and wanted their own players. The club leadership allowed it to happen. It's not a coincidence that the club leadership was the constant variable during all of those managerial tenures. Ten Hag may not be the right manager long-term, and the timing of his appointment may turn out to be the unfortunate factor. He would probably succeed at a stable organized club.
Only comes when wages balanced, and some same players connected are gone: Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Rashford, Bruno, Antony, Case. Next year for me has always been huge where they can offload most of these players finally.
The club paying 80+ million on antony is 90% on the board/whoever signs the chequebook not ETH. If your manager wants to spend 85 mil on a a player you value at 25 mil YOU DONT SIGN HIM
Truth is we’ve been bad since after winning the carobao cup apart from the odd game here or there. Ten hag has been tactical outclassed at least once by every single manger in this league and let’s not speak about The Champions league and Europa league. I get that sometimes it may take players to get used to a style of play however when your seeing Arne Slot and Enzo do it which 4 months of being with they’re squads it can’t be ignored.
I really really wanted things to work in Ten Hag but the results don’t lie, numbers don’t either these players aren’t making but they aren’t this bad either.
How this guy survived the 7-0 is still beyond me. At literally any other top club in the world, fans would have physically removed him from their stadium. No other top club allows themselves to lose 7-0 against their biggest rival and allows 0 accountability, but same goes for their fans. Our local fans are the prawn sandwich brigade, as Keane used to call them.
Other than De Ligt that isn't a single player we've signed this summer that improves us at all. How many seasons do we have to go without a proper striker? No manager on the planet is winning anything with this team?. How can the club go into this season with no guaranteed 25 goal striker. The manager has been set up to fail
😂😂😂 Some fans are saying there are managers who are gonna challenge the league with this crop of players 😂 We will have to park the bus and counter. I don't any other way with this squad Forget about a 25goals striker, we don't have a leftback as we speak. We don't have a midfield general like Man City, Arsenal, Bayern, Liverpool, Real Madrid or any other club we claim to be equal with. Did I mention that our wingers are average at best?

Before hiring a new manager, INIOS needs to decide on a game model !! How do they know what manager will be the best fit if they themselves don't know what game model they have yet ?! Decide game model, THEN recruit to FIT !!
Against Palace we actually passed the ball. Last two games it seemed like they totally forgot how to do it again. The misplaced passes were shocking Vs Spurs. It's like they conceded and panicked/reverted to type. On the manager to calm them down and the players to not overreact.
That’s because we had Erikson Amad Zirkzee and Maino in the team when they got taken off we struggled to keep the ball because we had Rashford Rasmus Garnacho Bruno and Ugarte Players aren’t to blame the manager doesn’t know how to balance the team and doesn’t know his best 11

Been saying it since Ole was appointed - United need Keane in a coaching role. Mentality, effort levels, running back etc - the basics - all sorted. Ole & Keane would have worked / RvN & Keane would be an improvement.

This is what it must have felt like for other teams when we had SAF We're looking for the next pep but no one will measure up while that guy is in the same league and the direct competition.
Think ETH completely underestimated the Prem through arrogance. Thought the same level of player and tactics that were successful in Holland could do the same over here.

The Harry Maguire leaking stuff is true, I’ve got a friend whose close with his family and he told me all about the Ronaldo stuff before it was in the news, can’t blame them for telling their family and friends but it will get about.
Maresca transition to Chelsea is far better because he have some core of senior player that perform: Palmer, Caicedo, Maresca, colwill, Jakson. Even when the system isnt perfect yet, those player carry Chelsea. With United, our senior player: Bruno, rashford, Casemiro, maguire they are constantly make mistake thats makes us conceded the goal. So instead of carrying the team, our senior player is destroying the team confidence. So when the confidence is low, ITS hard for new player like mazraoui, de ligt, ugarte or zirkzee to adapt. I think ten hag has to bench rashford and bruno because they have bad example for young and new player. When you have bad leader and bad role model in the, it will infecting all the player.
We know ETH wanted Kane and De Jong. Think where this team could be right now if we had them with goal scoring and the midfield solution being the main issues
I think its time to part ways. And time will tell if it was also on the players. If within one game or day we see marked improvement in levels of general effort, competence, chanfe conversion, and not givine away possession then you got to say that the players will have got another mamager sacked. Yes there's issues with ten hag that allow things like the van de ven run. But theres also issues like dalot not tracking johnson that have persisted and players should not be allowed to get away with
27:41 Another brilliant point by Ronaldo. There were united fans who clearly hadn't even seen ugarte play, talking about how he's gonna change everything
I think Ten Hag wanted Antony. Told that to the board expecting a deal to be done at up to €30-35m. But then the people doing the negotiations just paid whatever Ajax wanted because they’re stupid.
On the Ugarte transfer, i agree i tbink it was more INEOS led. And that he doesnt fit ETH amazingly. And coupled with the ruud talk, is it not worth taking a peak at how ruud set his midfield up, and the profiles he used??? And perhaps other managers we're linked too? 👀👀
@@shooey5055 it's too early but he looks like a sub to me. He ain't the general we are craving for in the midfield. If he gets a run of games then we will see. As I said it's very early.
It’s time for Casemiro and Ugarte behind a third more attacking player. Ole needed McFred to protect Maguire and Lindelöf and then ETH had Eriksen and Casemiro in his first season because Varane had pace. But not De Ligt and Martinez need protection until Yoro can come in with pace again.
INEOS have changed the executives, brought V Nistelrooy in. The only explanation is the players don't want to play for ETH because they don't get what he's trying to get over to them.
No question we still have some low IQ players. To Steve's pt though it takes time to rid the rest. Next year is big summer for contracts ending and players being sold. Shaw, Case, Lindelof, Maguire, Antony, Eriksen all probably gone.
Yeah it’s because the Glazers and Woodward were always the problem and that’s why we always went back and forth between blaming the manager and players and never sure who to blame. Or because they’re the ones who put time and time again players and managers together that had no business working together. They always made signings that were never coherent with each other. They signed players for managers that would never work together in the long run. It’s no wonder things generally imploded in the third season when the pressure from fans and media also mounted
@@csolivais1979 Look for someone else, but there’s no one else I trust unless we can tempt Ancelotti or someone qualified. If we moved in the summer we could’ve got De Zerbi but spineless fan base and board didn’t let it happen.

Everyone believes whatever suits their own narrative. Ronaldo wants to see the back of Ten Hag so he believes whatever story bolsters his belief. Same goes for those that support the manager.

It's been obvious since last season that Ten Hag had to go. His excuses about injuries have proven to be part of a cover-up- which I knew was BS. He now has half of his Ajax team and he still can't get them to perform. We signed a RB (Mazraoui) to force 1 of our best players last season (Dalot) to switch to LB- while Luke Shaw is chilling on the treatment table. We signed a PSG reject (Ugarte) for £42m+ who Enrique complained about not being great on the ball. And we also signed a Bayern CB (De Ligt) for £43m who is so good he didn't play a single minute for Netherlands at the Euros. Baffling summer transfers initiated by a manager who has proven he has no clue what he's doing in the transfer market. Let's not forget about Antony for £86m!
C'Mon Howson. Are you saying Eric Tin Pot had nothing to do with what we paid for Hojlund and Anthony. Of course hed had a say. The negotiations went on for several weeks. The club for obvious reasons wouldnt want to pay anything like that price. But if the manager says "i want him" then theyll have to pay it. Same with Hojlund. So that is 100% on the manager. Has to be.
He has the team playing like they are confused and don’t know what to do its time to sack him as he is too rigid and doesn’t see the problems his tactics or lack of them that cause a disjointed team of individuals not a tram at all get rid now before its too late how many chances are we going to give this guy
For me, the team isn't fit enough to play EPL football. There are spaces everywhere because no one is pressing, working hard to keep shape or working in pairs to box players off and push them away from the danger areas. The team is lazy. This isn't a Ten Hag issue either, it's been going on for over a decade. But the fitness levels are getting higher throughout the top leagues and especially the EPL. This is a deep rooted problem that Berrarda, Ashworth and Wilcox need to identify and fix. Is the player nutrition right? Are the fitness coaches good enough for high end football?
Ronaldo was pissing me off on this one, the manager isn’t the one that negotiates the fees. Yes he may have wanted Antony but it’s on the club to negotiate a fee, they’ve also goto have the stones to walk away and tell ETH nah Ajax want too much for him we can’t do it. But here’s another player that is a similar profile but for a better price. If we had a competent structure at the time (like we do now) there’s no chance in hell Antony is getting signed much less for 86m
Theres been over 4 new managers who have come to the league as new to the league since ETH. They have taken on a multitude of jobs from top 4 contenders to relegation candidates to clubs in turmoil from top to bottom. Every single one of them has managed to create a style of play. Erik hasnt and we are into his third season with the club. There is a serious issue.
I wanted him to succeed and he's shown glimpses, however, his inability to set up in a basic defensive manner and his decision making is going to get him sacked.
@geoffreymorley9906 😂😂 what a stupid take. If he wanted him or not he got the absolute best out of him, something eth has failed to do with any player. Don't even try to compare the 2
It’s so important Utd fans direct there anger at the right person , Howson don’t know better , barrada knows better he’s been around pep he knows what what , how on earth can barrada say this is ok !
I think Zlatan hit it on the head, he’s never had to manage big stars. Obviously this is also a big test for him, but his players talk too much. If a player is heavy on social, do not sign him.
Ten Hag was brought in to build a team and a way of playing that would be a credible and consistent challenge to the likes of City and Real Madrid. He wasnt brought in to get top four. He's begining to bring in the players for that system. There will be teething problems because it is going to be a radical style of play, and needs to be to catch City. Taking a short-termist view that he will go if he loses a few matches is both completely short sighted and cowardly. I hope ineos are beave and have the vision to see the long term goal.
PS I've been watching football since George Best rocked up at Old Trafford and I just pray ineos give the manager all the time he needs to build a sensational exciting team to thrill us for years to come. "Be bold and mighty forces will come to your aid"
I would take Southgate just to watch the meltdowns. I don't know why, but even though I don't think Southgate is the guy, the over the top reaction to even his name being mentioned is funny to me.
We are never gunna sort this shit show out until discipline is restored. The problem has been staring us rightin the face since Mourinho. He told us what the problem is. Ronaldo told us exactly the same. The players dont give a fuck because theres nobody in the dressing room who can lead. We still have no captain. They think Eric Tin Pot is way out of his depth. A soft touch. And thats where its all falling down. Until we get someone in that dressing room who has an aura, who commands respect nothing is gunna change. Theres no fear factor. A team reflects its manager. And all we keep getting is misrable football and a shit load of excuses. It starts with the manager. So he has to go.
Ten Hag has recruitment problems, he only gets players he knows. He also doesnt connect well with people partially because he has bad English rhetorics. I still blame players as the main problem
I am finding it harder and harder to take this stance that Ste is taking to justify the football that we are seeing knowing (as a proper football person) that the manager is responsible for the team he puts on the field and the choice of players and formation and tactics he uses again and again. This new perspective you are holding gaslighting a lot of fans and also making it look like what we are seeing is just part of the process is just disappointing.
What has Ruud achieved in his managerial career? And we expect him to successfully run the second biggest team in the world? Really.......i give in now. I have supported United for 51 years. I am done
How is Ronaldo claiming Ugarte isnt played in his best postion? Literally everyone sans Dalot and Mazroui playing their best roles (theyd be better in back 5). He is literally the player 99% wanted, but if you would have watched him in Copa, you'd know he is good but not able to sit alone 100% time. Also our front 5 is absolute bottom half. Bruno, Mainoo, Rash and Garnacho so wasteful. Mainoo with freedom (like all players) is beautiful but he cant play both sides of ball and be effective. Chamge midfield to pure athleticism and watch it improve.
In the last 10 years United have sacked less managers than Bayern or Madrid. We've supported our managers more than most clubs would and what have we got to show for it?
Bayern and Real Madrid fans actually support their clubs and want them to be the best. Our fans just wallow in the misery and pretend to be top reds, so they seem as authentic fans. Some people have PTSD from being called glory-hunters back in the day, they want to show they will support the club even if we get relegated.
"Don't lose the next two games"....not this rubbish again please, having a manager on a game to game rolling contract essentially, means the writing is on the wall, the next few games mean nothing win or lose if there's serious long term doubts.
Bloody don't play with any heart!!!! FgS they're supposed to be professionals 🙄 The manager can't make them play with the effort required at this level!!! They should do it automatically have some self pride in you work product. They didn't show up simples 💔
These players have to realize they control their destiny. They have the ability to change what happens on the pitch and they throw their hands up and look to yet another manager the second things go wrong. Mentally weak group and it starts with the captain.
we spent 85 mil on antony because we waited too long to make the move. ten hag wanted him in june, we were quoted around 30-35 mil, then we waited two months and ajax upped their price. at that point, we messed up and the higher ups had to tell ten hag he either doesn't get the player because they sat on their ass for two months, or they spend over the odds on him and we get no one else. nothing to do with ten hag. these are the people who made the most important decisions at united for years.
I have argued, gotten to fights about exactly what you said about Anthony's signing because people don't want to accept the truth! The truth about Anthony's price tag is exactly how you put it. Yes he clearly doesn't look good enough but the price we paid is on the club! We could have paid 50M max in June but Man united and the Glazers dragged their feet as always! People still say it's ETH fault. Some go an extent of saying "TEN HAG FORCED THE CLUB TO PAY!"
I would say sack him, but sack him at the end of the season(Why? Readmore). In the meantime come up with good replacements that would benefit the club. We just got a new sporting infrastructure in place, and we know for a fact that we cant really contest for a title race this season(if you think we can, you are delusional). Since the objective is to get in the champions league I think tenhag can do that. He has been a manager that has got us trophies and he doesn't look like someone who can win us the league title(yet!), so lets take a deep breath and instead of rushing for a new manager, let him try and go for that cup win and secure a place for us in champions league, and if the league position is still not good enough or we don't get champions league ,sack him but then at least we would have had time and resources to go through actual candidates(managers) who would be a good fit for us and can win us both champions league and contest the title

@@rtexiliration1 agree and it would be tough
The new regime needs to rebalance the player power BS
Only comes when wages balanced, and some same players connected are gone: Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Rashford, Bruno, Antony, Case. Next year for me has always been huge where they can offload most of these players finally.
The club paying 80+ million on antony is 90% on the board/whoever signs the chequebook not ETH. If your manager wants to spend 85 mil on a a player you value at 25 mil YOU DONT SIGN HIM
How can you judge the whole game with 10 men and weak efforts on part of the players?and then say it's Erik's fault??
Rolando expressing with big words 😂😂
End of - we need to ride this storm out and stick with Ten Hag.
Other than De Ligt that isn't a single player we've signed this summer that improves us at all.
How many seasons do we have to go without a proper striker? No manager on the planet is winning anything with this team?. How can the club go into this season with no guaranteed 25 goal striker. The manager has been set up to fail

We will have to park the bus and counter. I don't any other way with this squad
Forget about a 25goals striker, we don't have a leftback as we speak. We don't have a midfield general like Man City, Arsenal, Bayern, Liverpool, Real Madrid or any other club we claim to be equal with.

Before hiring a new manager, INIOS needs to decide on a game model !!
How do they know what manager will be the best fit if they themselves don't know what game model they have yet ?!
Decide game model, THEN recruit to FIT !!
How do you know that they haven't decided on a game model and are asking ten hag to play it?
Against Palace we actually passed the ball. Last two games it seemed like they totally forgot how to do it again. The misplaced passes were shocking Vs Spurs.
It's like they conceded and panicked/reverted to type. On the manager to calm them down and the players to not overreact.
That’s because we had Erikson Amad Zirkzee and Maino in the team when they got taken off we struggled to keep the ball because we had Rashford Rasmus Garnacho Bruno and Ugarte Players aren’t to blame the manager doesn’t know how to balance the team and doesn’t know his best 11
Still... watching plenty of capable premier league players misplace/underhit/overhit 5 yard passes is inexcusable. 2 of those 4 were playing as well..
@@Horseman5143 The manager’s system is causing the problems you just stated because the gaps between defense midfield and attack are too big now why are they like that because the manager wants to play counter attacking football which gets the best out of Rashford and Bruno players make mistakes it’s the manger’s job to know their weaknesses and strengths to minimize those mistakes

Give Ruud the job till end of season with Keane as his number 2

Poor Ste, his brain is scrambled eggs
Yeah it’s because the Glazers and Woodward were always the problem and that’s why we always went back and forth between blaming the manager and players and never sure who to blame.
Or because they’re the ones who put time and time again players and managers together that had no business working together.
They always made signings that were never coherent with each other. They signed players for managers that would never work together in the long run. It’s no wonder things generally imploded in the third season when the pressure from fans and media also mounted

Sacking Ten Hag is brainless and cowardly.

I agree with Ste on taking the time to develop this team.

I am done
I'm asking myself the same question about Ruud. Another channel justified it by giving McKenna as an example.
Ronaldo speaks a lot of sense. Ronaldo needs to get less defensive of his opinions.

we spent 85 mil on antony because we waited too long to make the move. ten hag wanted him in june, we were quoted around 30-35 mil, then we waited two months and ajax upped their price. at that point, we messed up and the higher ups had to tell ten hag he either doesn't get the player because they sat on their ass for two months, or they spend over the odds on him and we get no one else. nothing to do with ten hag. these are the people who made the most important decisions at united for years.
