Lexie Konieczny it really isnt that deep. Before in their first two albums, hes said how his friends would smoke and he would put their experience or stories into his songs. "But i got so stoned" in skeleton wasnt even gonna be the lyrics, it was a place holder, but they later decided to keep it in the song. Im sure when he said hes never done drugs, that he really hasnt. And its only been until recently when hes talked about his experience with smoking, so that tells me that before he didnt, but now hes given it a try cuz why not.
I like it. The Front Bottoms will probably always be one of my favorite bands, and while this isn't my favorite, I'm not gonna hate on it. why? because as artists I'm sure they put a lot of effort and care into this song, and it's something that clearly hits home. Let people enjoy things y'all, instead of standing on your pretentious high horse of "I'm gonna insult this so everyone thinks my taste in music is good"
