I think that what helped along with the sun being blocked is the fact that the plants have grown much bigger and helped take excess nutrients out of the water column... you can see the plant growth from the first video to the last video and its quite a difference. 😊

True, the problem with this aquarium is that it was a grow out tank, so right when the plants get big and healthy, I snip them and sell them. Might be why the algae kept coming back. Good observation.

Many aspects are at the foremost here... Light, Time allowed to be illuminated, Fert's and Maintenance (scrubbing and water changes)...
I scrub brown diatoms which fill the water with a murky look, then I do a 50% water change to remove quite a lot of it... The Canister filter usually removes the rest within a few hours to a day...
However within a few days to a week or two, they are back to blight my tank... Yeah, it depends on the intensity of the daylight from day to day and also the amount of light time that I illuminate the tank...
Most algae is caused by one spore entering the tank, and with the right conditions it will thrive...
There are too many factors to be precise with such experiments to gage what will work for everyone, but I like the fact that you have tried to show folk your findings.

Thank you! As I admitted in the video. Very hard to know if it helped or if the nutrients just depleted finally. Either way, glad you got some entertainment out of the bud as that is the main purpose of my videos! 🤘🤘

I get green algae on the glass of tanks that have a light directly hitting it but to be fair i run them for 10 hours. What do you use to clean the glass, scraper or algae sponge ?

I use a magnetic scraper for a fast clean and a “Magic Sponge” (ya know the one that erases🤣) for total removal and glass polishing.

I’ll look for the vid for sure!
And the magic sponge is the best for cleaning everything aquarium like mineral and scum deposits. 🤘
