In 1999, I saw Soulfly play in a dive bar in SC with about 100 other sweaty dudes. They had two bands opening for them that nobody had heard of: System of a Down and Incubus.

What always amazes me in those alternative bands - they sound the same live as their recording. hats off to those alternative bands I've seen live and sound great. Incubus you are one of them!
Just watched them performing live 3 weeks ago in Kuala Lumpur as part of their Asia Tour, and their performance was just like the old days, if not better. I bet they were exhausted, particularly Brandon at this stage, literally performing live on a daily basis throughout their Asia Tour. But still, Incubus is one of the best live performers I have ever watched to this day.
Look guys let’s give Brandon a break. On record he still sounds great. He’s just come of age Asian and American tour, so he’s gonna be vocally tired. He’s old too. I’m 21 and I can’t sing this without a few breaks in the pre-chorus. Let’s just appreciate that they’re still here
It actually improved a lot compared to what it used to be. There was a time it just sounded crap, cause he basically ruined his voice since he used to scream his high notes instead of using proper vocal techniques.
I'm quite happy to hear him like this.

i noticed brandon's voice no longer the same as it was from their first album up to "if not now, when?" album... it sounded like he's struggling maybe because his not in his prime age anymore. but then i still enjoy them hearing and watching them perform! great choice also with their new bassist
He had a vocal infection after if not now when tour then recent surgery on his septum to open up his other nostril and changed how he approached singing. Plus he's pushing 50

I love all the people complaining about how “bad” this sounds. Here’s a thought: You get up there and sing it. It’s not as easy as you think.

Instrumentally this is a great performance - but Brandon’s absolutely struggling with his voice here. Which is totally understandable considering the surgery he’s had, and just the general wear and tear that age has on one’s voice. He more or less had to change and relearn how to sing so I give him a lot of credit.
Still doesn’t change the fact that for well over a decade Brandon Boyd was one of the most underrated rock vocalists period.

Thought I read somewhere they were "reworking" this album. Sounded the same other than Brandon's voice. Miss the SCIENCE style and the original bassist with that slap-funk metal!
Saw them in el paso in october and they were awesome. But this isnt cutting it. Brandon being so extra

Brandons had a couple of surgeries in the last few years and, from what i understand, basically had to learn how to sing all over again
He is nearly 50. But it does sound like he might have a vocal injury.
It's already been mentioned, but the guy went through hell with his voice, had some corrective surgeries and is out there grinding trying to get it done for us fans. Kudos to him!

Jeez, Kimmel takes more time off than any other late night host. He also only does 4 shows a week(all the other guys do your standard 5). I can't believe ABC allows this.
You know my mom taught me that if I didn’t have anything nice to say is to say nothing at all. For all the haters that are commenting on the band performance just please don’t speak for they are still so awesome and if you think you can do better then do so but please spear us the negative comments b/c is not y’all’s color!!!
