I feel like this channel has conditioned us to get unnaturally excited about tree law, like every time a tree is mentioned I feel like the gulls from Finding Nemo "Tree? Tree tree tree tree tree"
The asbestos story is scary. I lived in an apartment that caught fire a few years ago, and the building was from the 70s, I think. We had to clear up the mess over the course of 2 weeks with little to no protection. Do they test for asbestos after a fire before letting the residents back in the building? This story brought back my paranoia 😭
I live in a condo that was built in the 70’s and let me tell you an interesting inspector took out a tiny chunk of drywall in our bathroom, a size that is around that size of a novel (not height wise) and they said that there was around 5 times the legal amount of lead and asbestos in our walls, unfortunately we don’t have the money to fix the house so it’s probably going to be a big problem for me to deal with if I get it from my dad. Yippee
Honestly, I think OP didn't do anything regarding tree law because he did tell the neighbors that they had to cut the branches themselves. While they were only legally allowed to cut the branches back to the property line, I'm sure OP didn't care that much since he told them to do it themselves in the first place. Also, tree law doesn't exist everywhere, so there's a chance that OP couldn't have done anything (he did specify in his post that since the tree was there before he bought the house, it was the neighbor's responsibility, not his).

Man, I feel for Brian with that first one. I was a phone call or two away from the perfect not-much-work fixer for a first place, when we learned the house had asbestos siding. Come to find, there are ways for individuals to remove asbestos relatively safely, with a hose and a hazmat suit, BUT, the recommendation was to afterward get rid of the clothes you'd worn, even with the hazmat suit. That ended it for me, and it was such a shame, too, because other than the asbestos, this place just needed cosmetic work. The backyard was a dream, too, darn it. Huge, went all the way back to a little river, had a small boathouse and a firepit. Saddest disappointment in years, having to walk away from the pretty, all because of some funky-ass gray fibers, darn it. I know it's a very first world, privileged sounding thing to say, but it's one of the great injustices in my life - the very existence of asbestos cost me the one house I was in a position to truly consider, dammit....
At least you didn't risk getting asbestosis (the condition where asbestos is in your lungs). It is a shame, yes, but the risk far outweighed the benefit. I hope you found a house just as good!

Thousands of posts on their timeline, comments on their posts, and people tagging them all to call them horrible POS people. It isn’t prorevenge but reading it felt pretty good.
I was working in my church trying to find a leak from an old iron pipe. I started slitting the pipe insulation without thinking and then I stopped. The thought crossed my mind "wait- what are the odds of this being asbestos?" I guess my mind assumed it was something like fiberglass so I was already wearing gloves and just kept my mask on, but that realization sent chills down my spine, even more so when I saw I was right.
**Update 1** I have just been on the phone to Brian for half an hour. His work place were very sympathetic and paid for him to have two days off trying to sort things out. This is in complete contrast to Karen and Keith who are yet to apologise and have made life difficult for Brian and his family. Due to the neighboring property being closed off for entry due to the health and safety investigation going on it means Brian cannot even get scaffolding on his roof yet to fix the roof. Brian is worried now that the landlord is going to try make his life hell. She is also a lawyer apparently. Karen was the person that offered the old roofing iron apparently not Keith. She spoke to her husband who said that because the bricks dinted the roof it means it must have been rusty and old so doesn't need new iron put on. Keith did however go nuts at Brian for getting insurance involved and also the health and safety investigation unit who are currently doing the investigation. In regards to Brian and family still living in the house: According to the investigator the risk is negligible and the problems will arise when the debris are removed from the section. This will require a large tent etc however the wind has been strong last few days and I feel risk is still high living next door to uncovered broken asbestos cladding that is not being kept damp. Brian asked the investigation office person by phone about what to do about his dog and if they needed vet checkup etc. They were 1m away from the fence which is about a foot from the asbestos when it was broken up. They responded saying “do you think your dog will live more than 20 years? if not I probably wouldn’t worry". Brian is also thinking the landlord is probably scheming revenge of her own. Brian paid for a new fence himself a few years back to border Karens rental as when he moved in the old fence was half falling down, she refused to pay half despite this being law. He reckons because the fence is approx 10cm too high she will ask him to cut the height down at his own cost so it is in perfect position for her new houses that are to be built. Brians plan is that he will pull the nice expensive fence down entirely and put 600mm high chicken wire mesh up as this is all that is required by law and there is nothing she can do about it legally as he paid for and built the fence. I will continue to keep you all updated. Also as I know the local newspaper editor I have offered to go with Brian to discuss this story with them once the investigation is completed if Karen tries to make life difficult and also expose Keith for his dirty practices. Keith's company have just been awarded a multi million dollar contract for demolition of an old car factory and this would raise some eyebrows. **Update 2** A very small update but not great news. I feel this story as many have suggested will not conclude in a warm fuzzy feeling of ultimate revenge as things progress. Firstly Brian informed me a fence has gone up around the exposed parts of neighboring property.... This is only to stop people from public going over to debris pile and scavenging etc then exposing themselves to the broken asbestos cladding. Brian also needed to take two full days off work when this happened to try sort out all the situation and reduce stress on his wife. Talking with all parties involved. So he was down two days wages coming up to Xmas but his kind boss has paid him special leave for taking them off. The insurance company after further clarification will be only paying out for one quarter of roof and flashings. Brian will have to find funds to pay for the rest. This section of roof is however the most expensive as it encompasses a large complex parapet gutter, roofing iron and flashings. Cost ? $8000 USD/ 120k ZAR. I hope I can provide something more substantial in a later update when there has been more action.
***** update 3 ***** 9th Jan 2021 Wish this update was actually something to update you on but alas it is merely to say due to the Xmas break etc nothing has progressed. Brian cannot get his roof fixed until the area beside his house is decontaminated so the scaffolding can then go up. ****** update 4 ****** 20th March 2021 Another downer of an update. Brian is being paid $8k towards his roof. The landlord / contractor got away with not needing a huge area cleanup and convinced local authorities that the building site would be sufficient for decontamination as the testers could not find samples over the fences of surrounding houses. All top soil on old section was removed and replaced. A new house has been quickly built by landlords builder. The house looks as cheap as they come... a kitset house and looks out of place. Sort of like a house you could load on to a truck and move if needed in future. Brian still hasn't had his roof fixed yet as he needs to save money to afford to pay for whole roof. ******* update 5****** 13th April 2021 wow wow wow Brian tells me the demolition company are taking his insurance company to court on the amount they have to pay for roof!

Just decided to do a little research on tree law out of curiosity. As it turns out, the legislation regarding trees for my state is 100 pages long. Guess I've got new reading material now!
My grandpa only has about half a working lung left because when he was working in the mine, there was asbestos EVERYWHERE. The company knew about it and didn’t even tell their workers or provide respirators of any kind. The company got sued by every single worker.
My great grandpa survived two war drafts and the civil rights movement to be taken out by asbestos from a florist job. The butts in this story got what they deserved; that stuff is no joke.
My parents have to test houses built before 1980s or something for asbestos before they can cut out wet drywall (they run a water restoration business, cutting out the wet and damaged materials after a flood or leak). Then, if there is, they have to filter the air so their clients won’t get sick. Especially with children or pets involved! The fact Keith ignored that with a FAMILY at risk is just cold hearted. I hope Brian gets compensated big time.
That first story is the reason why all TI calculator factories got rid of asbestos. My mother use to work in those factories, and the damages weren't shown until much later when she developed lung cancer. It went into remission, but it surfaced when the doctors were trying to figure out why there was a variant of (of all things) bread mold in her lungs. Not only did her cancer return, it returned with a massive vengeance. She died 2-3 years ago, 12 hours away from the first hour of Halloween.
Agree, I was like, "rslash, you need to learn how to pronounce asbestos!" It really kinda bugs me when Reddit narrators do that. Like, here's a word that's heavily featured in this post they'll be reading, but we ain't gonna check to see if we're actually pronouncing it right before uploading for all the world to hear 🙄
The second i heard about the trees, I instinctively knew rslash was gonna mention it of the story didn't do anything about it. Man loves his treelaw 😂😂
I love to watch old videos with puppy bloopers because to me it's super funny but I still love the videos without puppy bloopers and I love r/prorevenge.
R/slash is my favourite channel . He read himself, and he does it the best 👌 Sometimes i can hear he try to hold back the laughter, but it is not easy to hold back, is it ? All good , tho , because it is a " true natural laughter" ,nothing forced about it . It makes me laugh along 😁 Love from Norway 🇧🇻
11:55 I didn’t notice anything about trees being cut. Just the branches that grew over onto their property. I did the same when my neighbor’s branches were intruding into my driveway parking space.
I'm sorry for your loss, your videos always cheer me up and I hate when I hear these sad things that you have been through and just reminds me of similar experiences I've had, such as my great grandmother passing away in February, we inherited her pet cockatoo and it always saddens me hearing him call for her or other past family, anyways I wish everyone who sees this the best of luck.
I dont have reddit so thses make my day better because of people being dumb and people getting what they deserve ive been here for a little over a year and love your channel ❤️
You need to be very careful when giving the advice you gave at the end because if op does what you suggest, and if the douchebag neighbor is killed or commits suicide directly because of op doing what you suggested, a good prosecutor could get op for depraved heart murder, a great one could get you for the same if op says he posted the site that lead to the douchebags death because you suggested it. As much as I agree with the point you were trying to make, you need to be very VERY careful. Thanks for the vid 😊
There is nothing more satisfying then hearing someone read a Reddit story going horribly wrong in a RUclips video, and looking at the title saying “r/prorevenge”.
Regarding the first story, no insurance companies will be paying out. It will be Keith AND Karen that will pay out of pocket because they will be deemed criminally negligent
My Grandfather was an AMAZING human being. After losing him to asbestos related Mesothelioma, I send lots of love to everybody who has lost a loved one to that bastard of a disease. ♥️
I was 16 in job corps training to be an electrician, my OJT job was working in a hospital, since I was the smallest and lightest guy I was the guy who got sent into the ceiling, this was in a really really old hospital. I had been working in this one section for like 3 weeks before someone told me that all that stuff falling off of the pipes was asbestos. 20 years later I'm still cancer free but it still worries.
12:02 while a agree tree law is punishing, it's just icing on the cake, I mean, the probably spent, $100k + for repairs, got sued, and to top it off, now have the IRS on their collective asses
Asbestos killed my maternal grandfather, too. He worked in factories where it was used, developed lung cancer though he never smoked, and died the year I was born.

This is always one of the reasons why I get up in a good mood in the morning!
Dude it's so amazing how it only took you a month to get to 1 mil
Rslash...we need another R/Treelaw post . They are the best!!
I love how obsessed you are with tree law as Charlie is to bird law 😂
Tree law stories are the only thing that gives my brain serotonin anymore
7:50 we missed a good tree law opportunity.
Please keep us updated with the asbestos Karen!! That poor family needs justice!
Thank you Rslash, I just had "tree law" running through my head over and over.
No one:
Absolutely no one:
Not a soul:
rSlash: "T R E E L A W"
R/slash is my favourite channel . He read himself, and he does it the best 👌
Sometimes i can hear he try to hold back the laughter, but it is not easy to hold back, is it ? All good , tho , because it is a " true natural laughter" ,nothing forced about it . It makes me laugh along 😁
Love from Norway 🇧🇻
11:55 I didn’t notice anything about trees being cut. Just the branches that grew over onto their property. I did the same when my neighbor’s branches were intruding into my driveway parking space.
7:48
"Relative jumped my fence and cut the trees down."
Op mentions them cutting there trees down
Me: TREE LAW! TREE LAW! TREE LAW! TREE LAW!
As soon as I heard they had jumped fence and cut down the trees, a little voice in my head started chanting “Treeee Law! Treeee Law!”
Ha! Clicked the second it came out for a change. Love RSlash videos so much!
Me: Huh I wonder if I’ve seen this one yet!
RSLASH: Where we get to see OP get revenge on a child murderer
Me: DEFINITELY HAVENT SEEN THIS ONE
I'm sorry for your loss, your videos always cheer me up and I hate when I hear these sad things that you have been through and just reminds me of similar experiences I've had, such as my great grandmother passing away in February, we inherited her pet cockatoo and it always saddens me hearing him call for her or other past family, anyways I wish everyone who sees this the best of luck.
"Our next post is from Metal Can't Die"
Me: *YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT IT CAN'T DIE!!!*
Asbestos is what killed my grandfather too. I hope that guy and his family don't suffer because of it and those terrible people.
Its 9:02AM. Panic
Rslash posts. Calm
I dont have reddit so thses make my day better because of people being dumb and people getting what they deserve ive been here for a little over a year and love your channel ❤️
Op: my neighbor cut down my trees
Me: Uh oh
I think it’s hilarious how into Tree Laws rSlash is, like, it’s an obscure law that he loves and seems to know a bit about and now I do too
This is great to hear right after getting home from school
Okay, NOW I can get out of bed for work because you uploaded and I have something to listen to!
A sweet! A treat! Thank you for uploading today!
This video tastes good.
Rslash: "Tree law."
Me: "TREE LAW??"
Landlord: "Nope. Suck on it."
OP: "Buys his domain name and threatens him*
Landlord: *Surprised Pikachu Face*
OP: "Suck on it."
Regarding the first story, no insurance companies will be paying out. It will be Keith AND Karen that will pay out of pocket because they will be deemed criminally negligent
Tree law. Tree law. TREE LAW. TREE LAW. TREE LAW! TREE LAW!
When neighbors complain about everyone else, but have tons of issues with their own property...
Man the first thing I thought of when I heard a branch scratch the roof ..... TREE LAW!!!!!!
Speaking of Tree Law can we have more Tree Law stories ?
Telling the guy in the last story, "Nope. Suck on it." would have been *true* justice. But the way it unfolded is justice as well.
Asbestos killed my maternal grandfather, too. He worked in factories where it was used, developed lung cancer though he never smoked, and died the year I was born.
I'm not going to lie I think this is the third or fourth time I've heard the first story (it's a choice I make to listen to multiple channels), r/slash is the only one who kept my interest for the whole thing, so yay!
