I have the Norelco QT4070. AKA Philips Norelco BeardTrimmer 7300 vacuum trimmer ($200). Used it since 2011. It’s decent. After a ton of research, I bought the Remington 4050. After 2 months of use, I am very happy with it. The Remington has a precise edging trimmer separate from the regular trimming blade and it works great. This feature far outweighs the vacuum feature of the Norelco in usefulness and functionality. The only downside I have noticed in the Rem is that the the vertical adjustment wheel becomes slippery if your thumb is wet, making it slightly harder to adjust after a shower than the Norelco’s horizontal adjustment wheel. However, the guard combs on the Rem give you a more even and controllable trim than the contour comb from the Norelco. The Rems add-ons include a boar hair beard brush that tames my beard better than my wood beard combs and the scissors it comes with are decent quality. The third guard comb on the Rem has an adjustment wheel on it that allows you to get really precise with your stubble length and downstroke trim for a longer beard without the stick out strands. I am not paid by Remington. I think many of their old trimmers were dogshit and was hesitant to take a chance on this one. It’s good. Lithium battery and everything. They stepped it up on this.
Got this kit the other day. Not bad at all. It can't remove small stubble though, like when trying to make a clean line on the side of your face. Must have stood there for 10 minutes trying to get it to cut, nothing at all.
I just bought this for my bfs valentines gift to replace his babyliss istubble he has used for years. It looks really smart, I hope he likes it. Nice review :)

What do you mean by the blades are not waterproof? If I disassemble the head and remove the blades and wash them, they will rust? By the way I can not see screws on the head, can it be disassembled and remove the blades?
the blade can be taken apart but just for brushing rather than washing as this will create higher friction between the blades and the blades wont move as quick as it shout
Ciprian Pânzariu Trebuie curatat doar cu o periuta uscata. Lamele nu sunt rezistente la apa deoarece se ascut singure. Poate fi folosit si pentru parul capului doar ca grilajele nu sunt foarte precise in ceea ce priveste setarea marimii.

This one seems really nice. I settled on the Remington MB4700 Smart Beard Trimmer 9000 but I don't think you can go wrong with either

the 4045 is designed for beards while the 5960 is designed for hair cuts

unclip the metal blades and brush off with provided brush. The blades cannot be washed
can i use with power cord pluged?
yes it can be used while plugged
is this self-oiling blades?
