- Dean Martin (born Dino Paul Crocetti; June 7, 1917 -- December 25, 1995) was an American singer, film actor, television star and comedian. One of the most popular and enduring American entertainers of the mid-20th Century, Martin was nicknamed the "King of Cool" due to his seemingly effortless charisma and self-assuredness. A member of the "Rat Pack," Martin was a major star in four areas of show business: concert stage/night clubs, recordings, motion pictures, and television. He was the host of the successful television variety program The Dean Martin Show, and subsequently The Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts up until 1985.
Martin's relaxed, warbling crooning voice earned him dozens of hit singles including his signature songs "Memories Are Made of This", "That's Amore", "Sway", "Mambo Italiano", "Volare" and "Everybody Loves Somebody".

Dean Martin was the defination of Cool.. He is who, and what all of us men aspire to be like... Unfortunatly many fall from that elite pedestal.

He did not have a MESSAGE, he did not want you to KNOW something, he was just a guy who could sing. He was GOOD.

Dean is in my opinion, one of the greatest performers. Not only was he good looking, and sang like an angel, but he was so charming. All that charisma, just the way he performed. A lot of "performers" from today lack that charm, and charisma.

Age 74 here, listen to Dean in my younger years. Didnt appreciate his enduring talent until years later. He was so humble, so very handsome , a fabulous singer, actor and comedian, none can compare to his voice. Funny thing Dean never took anything serious. Read some great books about him, you just cant take your eyes off him. Hope he knew how much he was loved by his fans. Thats what you call a man and a tough guy but a kind and generous man. What a life he was blessed with. RIP

Never was, never will be anyone as cool as the King of Cool....oh, to return to the days when Dino walked the earth. Know our efforts are bein' shared this very Dino-day with all the pallies gathered 'round ilovedinomartin.
Dino was as cool as you could be man , and what a singer. It is of the best of my understanding he was a really good bare knuckle fighter before show- biz . i'm a hard rock fan and alway's have been but there's alway's time to listen to Dean !.

I was born in in Bellaire, Ohio. Stepfather Leone was Mayor of Steubenville and a friend of Mr. Martin. He is interred in the same cemetery as Marylin Monroe, Billy Wilder, Natalie Wood and others, in Pierce Brothers Cemetery in California. Wish I could afford to be there when the time comes. Maybe I shall just go down there in front of George C. Scott and be a soldier and be done with it all.

Dean Martin was the bomb.
Dean's singing brings such joy that no other singer comes close to. Listening to his voice and style puts me in a drunk state in that I don't care of anything while listening. So many songs and many just put me in a state of bliss. He was the absolute best.
I adored Mr Martin. He ozzes cool calm collected as he sings acts and dances. His humor and good looks are also admired.

Dino, a Global Treasure will be remembered for many reasons - his great voice, songs, concert, early films, and of course the Dean Martin Show on TV where he gave the impression that he was always 'drunk' on account of the trademark glass in his hand. Revealed that it was always only Apple juice. Loved life and lived it His Way. They don't make them like that anymore.
