This is the first trailer for the videos I will be making, starting in the spring of '24. In it I will make a journey getting closer to landscape surrounding my self-built cabin in the French Gaume. I will tell you the story of how I ended up there twenty years ago and I will show you why and how this site means so much to me.
Working on maintenance of the cabin and land, using local materials, repairing dry stone walls and much more, I 'd like to share my desire and efforts to get closer to nature, to cultural history. But also to the identity of this spot and region, in the middle of what historians call a 'guilty' landscape located on the western slope of an old citadelle designed by the 17th century architect Vauban. It's also in the midle of the Maginot Line, World War I en II battlefields are close.
You can join me on this journey, picking mushrooms and berries, preparing regional food, interviewing local people with a special relationship to this landscape, and visiting significant sites!

Voici la première bande-annonce des vidéos que je réaliserai à partir du printemps 24. J'y ferai un voyage pour me rapprocher du paysage qui entoure la cabane que j'ai construite dans la Gaume française. Je vous raconterai comment je me suis retrouvé là il y a vingt ans et je vous montrerai pourquoi et comment ce site est si important pour moi.
En travaillant à l'entretien de la cabane et du terrain, en utilisant des matériaux locaux, en réparant des murs en pierres sèches et bien d'autres choses encore, j'aimerais partager mon désir et mes efforts pour me rapprocher de la nature, de l'histoire culturelle. Mais aussi de l'identité de ce lieu et de cette région, au milieu de ce que les historiens appellent un paysage "coupable", situé sur le versant ouest d'une ancienne citadelle conçue par l'architecte Vauban au XVIIe siècle. C'est aussi au milieu de la ligne Maginot, les champs de bataille de la Première et de la Seconde Guerre mondiale sont proches.
Vous pouvez m'accompagner dans ce voyage, en cueillant des champignons et des baies, en préparant des plats régionaux, en interviewant des personnes locales ayant une relation particulière avec ce paysage, et en visitant des sites importants !

Hi Veronica, we take a walk an take a picture then most of us step into our cars and drive on... I feel a great connection to the landscape around my favourate spot in France. Over the years I have been reading about sense of place, lieu de memoire, identity and how we connect to the place and landscape where we live. I 'd like to share these thoughts and living a year in France with my followers, listen and interview people living in the surrounding hills. Thanks, I Like the idea of your project. I am trying to connect in my surroundings as well. Like you reading the history and the people who live and lived at those places helps. Talking and spending time with my neighbors...
