• My Testimony
Worship leader here. At church I lost a tube amp I built (to the frustrating intermittent trouble), and picked up a PodGO. Your pack is super helpful to see how the mechanics/mapping of the unit work, as well as practical base tones to start with. Much of my pedalboard was made by me or modded, so it’s hard to get used to not having a DD-20, Neunaber Immerse, etc. but- I can mess with this PodGO for hours. Appreciate your content.
Oh, and the jailbreak presets work fine on the latest software/firmware from Line6. PodGO was delivered today, I updated it 1st thing, then loaded your patches.
Thanks for the very kind words, and sorry to hear about the amp! You know, I'm actually going in the opposite direction, I've been bitten by a pedalboard bug and have been tinkering with a PT Fly sized rig. Settling on a Mono Small at the moment!
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar I built an isolation cabinet with a 10” Celestion, and a mic inside, so I could run the amp on stage at full bore (single-ended KT88 build). The ultimate amp/cam emulation, I guess.
I love the sprinkles of humor in these videos. Fantastic quality and well organized information. Great job
Thank you for the kind words, Brien! Putting the content together is like practice run for my day job (teaching at the Methodist School of Music).
i love this hack! i also deleted the eq for another extra space giving me 8 empty blocks. love the blockless volume trick and love that you can still use a wammy or wah even tho ur tricking the pedal into doing blockless volume. AMAZING HACK.
Oh so you managed to delete the EQ block without glitches! Nice. I had some UI glitches without an EQ block. A random 8th note will appear on the menu. I should try it again though, just for that extra block!
Great concise explanations
Hi! I'm glad the video was helpful!
Thank You So Much for the information, really appreciated. Those tones you created, I will surely buy them; they sounded so celestial and beautiful. Many Blessings to you and loved ones. 🙏
Thank you so much for the kind words, and blessings to you and yours too! I hope my content will be useful for you, it certainly is my joy when I see others use my patches for their own musical endeavors.
Very interesting and very helpful ! Thank you for sharing !
You’re welcome! I’m glad it was helpful!
That spacey sound at the beginning was great, looking to buy those
Thanks for the kind words! They're in my POD Go Worship Essentials pack, if you want to grab and go. Otherwise, it's a matter of dialling in a thick delay/reverb sound with a stereo enhancer (I use a Dual Delay that effectively functions as a Haas effect for stereo depth).
Great info - beyond just freeing up extra blocks, thank you!
Forgot to mention- Sweet playing and great tones too!
I'm glad the video was useful!
Thank you for the kind words!
Fantastic playing and sound! Great video :)
Thank you for the kind words!
Idea .... add JB templates that include the Effects Loop. I love the extra blocks, however one less block and loop would be awesome. (Perhaps also with and without Wah)
Oh that’s an idea indeed. Maybe I’ll make a POD Go pedalboard with added pedals in the FX loop.
Useful video, thank you brother 😎
You’re most welcome! I hope it helps unlock extra utility from your POD Go!
In my case it only give the option to unlock 1 extra block. Does anybody it’s experienced the same issue? For some reason I can’t use the block number 6
Double check that you're not deleting blocks like the amp, cab, and EQ, or the input or output blocks. Those appear to be the most "system critical". When I try deleting them, I get very weird GUI glitches.
Your videos have been very helpful
Thank you for the kind words! To be useful is indeed the aim of my videos.
the link to buy the "POD Go Worship Essentials Pack" gives me a 404 error the page is not available. Are still available this pack? And the patch JB JC's FX is in this bundle?
Hi! Oh dear, let me double check the link on the video. In the meantime, this should work: buymeacoffee.com/jcguitar/e/51165
And yes, my JB JC FX is there!
Will buy your preset pack soon.
Thank you for the support, I’m grateful!
Glorious playing man
Thank you for the kind words, Andy!
Sparrows is a song that I could listen to forever
My daughter loves it!
Hi Justin, All your videos are really helpful. ..Question..How to go on the SNAPSHOT page at the up & down arrows, as I can see at 1:22 in this video ...thank you
Hi Simon! Thank you very much! In Globals, Switches and Pedals, choose Stomp Mode and select “4 stomps”, then navigate to Up/Down Switches and select “Snapshot”, which will replace FS 1 and 4 with Snapshot Up/Down.
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar ... Nice .. Many Thanks to you
You’re welcome! Be blessed!
Wow! Verdaderamente provechosos tus presets, Dios te bendiga. Muy buenos.
id love to see Line 6 add this in as an update. clearly the Pod Go can cope with having those blocks made open since it just makes them available without skipping a beat, so why not just let me swap out the volume and wah blocks from the front panel of the unit?
We can hope! Let’s keep raising it in their ideas collation. I think part of the approach is to keep the tweaking minimal so that the player gets to the playing phase quicker. Beginners can get stuck on the tone tweaking phase too much!
Nice video. Please do a video on input impedance issue.
Thanks! I don’t have the issue with my POD Go wireless, but I found a solution and talk about it here: ruclips.net/user/shortso37tcrynUP0?feature=share
Can you copy and paste a second IR block running two IR’s. Maybe not enough DSP…
DSP may be an issue but I think the bigger issue is if the GUI can accommodate two IR slots. I’ve had very weird-looking graphics when I’ve copied and pasted other things. One empty block became an 8th note haha.
That sounds Awesome!!
Thank you for the kind words!
Hi, I just purchased worship essential pack and I love it! But I would like to change one thing about the compressor, in clean mode, it feels like as soon as I hit a note, it gets compressed too fast? So I would love to adjust the settings so I can get more of a natural compression. Is there any tip for this? Thank you
Hi there! Thank you for purchasing the pack, I appreciate it! If I'm not mistaken, most of my presets have the Kinky Comp as the preferred compressor as it's the fastest way to get the bright, clean (and very fast) compression as heard on modern Hillsong/Bethel/Elevation. If it is, you can get the compressor to react slower by turning up the Attack and lowering the Mix controls for a natural sound.
If you'd like to swap it out for something milder, go with the Deluxe Compressor. I'd try these settings: -30dB threshold, 3:1 ratio, 20ms attack, 400ms release, mix to taste (I typically have it at 70% or lower).
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar Thank you!!
Thank you for the info bro! I have a concern, would this damage the pod go? That's my biggest concern.
No it won’t, at worst the UI will look weird with some strange symbols but it’s all code.
This might have already been asked, can you do this on a Windows in Notepad?
Great video! Keep up the awesome content!
No worries, just ask! Yes it can be done on Windows Notepad. You just need any text editor that can edit JSON script. Thank you for the kind words!
Hey how do you name multiple effects to one foot switch
Hi! Once you assign n number of effects to the same footswitch, you'll see the FS is named "Multiple (n)". On the POD Go editor, open the Bypass/Control panel, click on the three dots on the top corner of the footswitch. You'll see the option to rename the switch.
What about the processing threshold after hacking having 7 more free blocks?
The DSP limit is still the same. It’s about 90% of a HX Stomp (which is still plenty).
Thank you!
You’re welcome! I hope it was useful!
About to buy my first Pod Go but seeing these hacks don't work with the new update, is this true that you know of? Thanks
Which firmware number is this, do you happen to know? These work for firmware 1.40, which I understand is the most current.
Super Video...Congratualtions...can I do the same thing about Volume but with the WAH? Thanks so much
Hi Danilo, thank you for the kind words! You mean to remove the wah pedal from the signal chain but still a wah sound? No that's not possible, you need a wah pedal block. The blockless volume pedal works because I'm assigning expression control to the Channel Volume or Level in the compressor. BUT. A wah pedal is basically a sharp mid boost sweeping the frequency spectrum. I should try it out with an EQ block and see if that works.
Hi Justin, I just found you, and I enjoyed this video! However, I am wondering if you have specific advice for bassists with the Pod Go? I tried the dual delay "trick," and it does not have the same impact on bass as it appears to have on guitar. The bass used in your tracks sounds like a synth (really nice, too!). What are you using for your bass tone? Thank you!
Hi! Thank you for the kind words! I'll admit, these tracks are minus ones from using the Moises app to remove the vocals. So the bass is from the recording of "Sparrows", not from my POD Go. I've not been making content for bass, but it's something I could get into since I use the HX Stomp and Helix for my bass tones.
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar I heard you play bass in another video (Cornerstone), and you sounded great, so I thought it was you on this track, too. I am struggling to find a great bass tone with my Pod Go. It's just my ignorance and lack of time spent on the pursuit. There are no shortcuts, but I'm always looking. 😁
Would it be possible to accomplish an Exp 3 with an external to manipulate drive or other parameters, while keeping exp 1 as volume and exp 2 as wah(?)
I bought an external line 6 expression pedal to try to accomplish this.
Hi Cesar, unfortunately there is no EXP3 capability on the POD Go, but I think you could potentially achieve the same thing with Snapshots. Have the external expression pedal mapped to EXP2 to control your parameters as desired, and EXP1 mapped to both wah and volume, but have their bypass states "inverted" to one another. If wah is on, volume is off (but at 100%). If volume is on, wah is off. Control the on/off states with Snapshots (although that sacrifices one Snapshot slot).
Have you tried this with ver 1.40 mine clears the eq block and you can add effect but you get a code 4 error
Yes my JB patches work on 1.40, but I’ve found that some blocks are more temperamental than others. The EQ, Amp and Cab blocks seem to be much more important in the preset. Removing those have led to glitchy behaviour, so I recommend only removing the wah, volume, and FX loop.
Please sir i need these patches for church worship
Haha, by the way, please don't feel compelled to address me as 'sir', I'm just a fellow musician like you!
Ok Man of God
Thanks very much for the reply
This is so good!
Thank you for the kind words! I love maximising the potential of gear
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar I bought the essentials pack ! Can’t wait to try it out!
Thanks Peter! Hit me up on FB if you need any help with them!
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar thanks I made a acoustic preset after deleting some of the blocks. It works well now and I can add the looper in too!
If you turn the amp and cab models off does it free up dsp for use in the 7 effects blocks?
Nope it doesn't, as long as the block is in the chain, whether on or off, it's consuming DSP.
Sir can u tell me how can i get those patches
I have them on my POD Go Worship Essentials pack that you can find here: www.buymeacoffee.com/jcguitar/e/51165
I use several different amp models on my Pod Go. None of them seems to give enough bottom end or bass for my guitar. Can I improve this at all?
Hi Michael, what are your listening environments? An amp, a stage monitor and headphones will have very different low end response.
You could do several things at the patch level to increase low end. Try a tilt EQ at the front and shift it towards the darker side, with the centering frequency at the lower end of 600Hz and a +3dB boost (first pass). Tailor the centering frequency and the boost to taste.
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar I’m am running straight into a PRS Mt 15 amp in to a 4x12 Marshall.
Oh that’s a lovely amp and cab! Are you using the POD Go as an FX board with no amp processing? I’d check if the amp and cab blocks are active, which will have a deep mid focus shift (and a perceived loss of bass).
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar I use the amp block and effects. I do not use the cab block
Does this hack work with version 1.4?
I just tried it with a new preset, and it works! I’m gonna mention it in the next video.
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar ok Thanks! Did you update pod go edit? I cant seem to get it to work. Get a prompt ”Target is incompatible”
Cant drag and drop in either
Yes, I updated the editor first before the POD Go. Just checking, what file extension is the preset you're trying to load? .HLX or .PGP?
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar PGP I got it working now so can confirm it does still work with 1.4. I think the problem was I hadn’t deleted an extra line of code that is included at the end of the DSP section. Thanks 😊
Deluxe comp, distortion,
tape emulation, double take, delay 4 tap for pad, digital delay, glitz verb
I should try this signal chain out! I take it the amp is after distortion, before tape emulation?
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar exactly it’s a fun sound because it makes it more realistic to me.
I like to get rid of the speaker emulation leave the amp and get rid of speaker emulation so I can add a looper at the end Is that possible I did it by changing the values but no sound comes out The speaker emulation is gone but I get no sound Is this possible?
Have you tried disabling the cab block instead of removing it completely with the JSON script edit? Do you have sound, or is it very soft? The cab block does bring up the level quite considerably. I have avoided removing the amp and cab blocks from the JSON script because it leads to very weird and glitchy behaviour. I still have sound but the graphics on the panel end up looking strange.
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar Yes I have it disabled I wanted to remove it so I can add another block of another type but leave the amp cuz I use that as an EQ at the beginning of the chain I just don't want the cabinet
works with last version 1.41 ?
Do you mean the POD Go Editor 1.41? Yes, it should work, since the only update to the editor was that they fixed a big of Editor not opening if there's an SD card inserted.
sounds great, is the TIAG patch in the HX Stomp bundle?
Hi there! I thought I had a TIAG patch in the Stomp Worship Essentials Pack, let me double check.
But if you want to DIY the Verse 2 FX, it's stacking the Simple Pitch (+12), Pitch Vibrato, and Dual Delay (set to .1/8+1/8).
Justin how are you liking the pod go compared to the stomp and helix?
I like it very much! I’ve been taking it out more often than my other rigs, but that’s only when I don’t have to MD for the team.
Hey Justin, you ever faced the low impedance issue? What headphones or monitors do you use?
Hi! Low impedance on the input? I’m using the POD Go wireless so I don’t have input impedance issues, but I am told it is a problem. I’ll be experimenting with the guitar input soon.
As for headphones and monitoring, I build patches with the Sony MDR-7506 and Prodipe Pro 880 headphones. Double checked with a pair of Mackie CRX monitors (as well as when tracking live on camera)
Sir i am from India and playing guitar in a church, sir i need these patches please how can i download these patches
Alternatively, feel free to download my free pack, which has the jailbroken template that gives you the freedom to build a patch without the wah pedal and FX loop: www.buymeacoffee.com/jcguitar/e/28897
Is it safe?
Yes it is! If the preset looks weird, you probably deleted something incorrectly in the JSON file.
And God saw that it was good!
Haha! Oh man, I dare not elevate these endeavours to the level of the creation. My Old Testament professor will be very upset!
Hello Sir
Hi!
This is the 3rd video I have seen that misuses the term "Jailbreak". Jailbreaking is a term to hack iPhones. This isn't an iPhone or a jailbreak. It's just changing code in a preset....
Hi Dusty! Sorry if I misused the term, although I initially thought the analogy would have held up. What term would you propose, if I may provide a clarification in the future?
Will "rooting" work for pod go.
Haha, that’s from Android, isn’t it? That’s an area I have even less experience in 😅
dumb move
Hi! I respect your opinion, everyone's entitled to theirs. :)
