Awwww thank you so much for this incredibly sweet shout-out ❤️ I feel very honoured! And so happy to see we share an obsession for buying tiny things to pour from 😂 those candle holders were such beautiful finds! And that mirror - exactly what I was looking for!!! I wish thrift stores here would be that full of treasures 😄 as always: beautiful video and awesome music select! Thank you again for doing this collaboration with me 🧡🦋❤️✨ I hope many more people will be enchanted by your masterfully crafted content!
How lovely. Yes, I have seen The Witches Cookery and her videos are lovely. I am happy to see younger women exploring and creating their own witchcraft styles. I am older (old enough to be both your mums) and live in Scotland. I did spend many years in the states and remember the goodwill shops. The one you visited seems to be quite large. I also have no problem with used items such as mirrors. I am a Reiki Master/Teacher, artist, and writer, and find many uses for those very items. I love boxes as I do Reiki boxes for clients and am always looking for ways to store crystals for my Reiki grids and pendulums, writing, and craft supplies. I love the silver trays and I live along the shore so I use sand in the trays for my candles and often decorate with shells and driftwood. Lovely to have found your channel.
I used to have a whole online shop of thrifted witchcraft supplies, along with more 'standard' usable stuff. It's incredibly useful and I bet it saved some people a lot of time, since I had to go through each item first and look for cracks, chips, and other damages. One thing that many under-40 people might not know about those dark silver items that say "silver plated" is that they WERE plated... back in the 30s-50s, when they were likely made. That dark colour is what is left of the electroplating. It's perfectly safe for candle holders, trays, frames, etc. I used old sugar containers as a cauldron (NOTE: PUT A STONE TILE OR WOODEN THICK COASTER UNDERNEATH OR YOU WILL BURN YOUR TABLE. The whole thing will be hot!) What you can't do? (Or shouldn't, really. Technically you *can*.) Brass and copper alloys were typical base metals for silver plating. You may not want to serve FOOD or DRINK from it. While technically many sources say that it's safe, this probably assumes two things: 1) it's still fully plated. Fully plated silver dishes are fine because the silver is intact, and that's what your food comes in contact with. 2) It assumes that the metals haven't had pitting or nicking. This can be very fine to a naked eye, so someone who attempted to clean that dull grey colour with toothpaste may have accidentally pitted the metal, capturing more bacteria, and then discovered... the silver plate just isn't there. So don't serve or eat food from silver plated finds if the silver isn't *fully* intact or marked sterling silver. I know it isn't dirt-cheap and clean-all, but just spend the $8 on silver cleaner. Your silver is worth it. Baking soda + toothpaste methods do pit silver, the worse and more obvious it gets over time.
Hi, I''m new here, and also a "Witch, of sorts". I just want to give all lighted candle users a heads-up. I'm not being critical here, I'm just trying to he helpful. One evening, I was laying on my couch, with a lighted candle near-by. My lovely kitty Maya walked up to me, gently waving her beautiful orange tail back and forth, when all of a sudden, the tip of it was on fire! Luckily, I was able to grab it and extinguish the flame. I don't think she had a chance to realize what had happened. It probably tasted pretty icky the next time she groomed it, at least she still had it to groom. So, I have never had a candle with a flame since. Just a loving FYI from me to you. Loved this video, and I also follow Thewitchescookery. xx
Beautiful. I have thrifted most of the decor in my house, too, and have had this aesthetic for about 25 years now. It's nice to see the younger generation embracing it.
living where I have a thrift store in almost every corner I had to stop! I love all the mundane items we as witches see through magik eyes but I have to say I have decluttered 99% of my witch items over the years with no regrets....that thrift store is amazing.....so much beautiful pieces you found.
Two of my favorite witches doing a collab is such a blessing ☺️😊. This was really nice to wake up to as well - - lovely video again, hope you're having a relaxing day Veda 🥸🧋🖤
Really really love everything about this! 🖤 Especially when you showed how you cleansed and incorporated your thrifted items into your craft. Thank you! ✨
This was soothing to watch and I love “vintage finds” as I like to call them. Thrift stores do have a hit or miss kinda type aesthetic that can make the vibe work way better than brand new crap which I always regret trying to incorporate into the mix. I’ve found that this Full Moon has also stirred something up inside me and I’m finding myself digging through my old collections of different “witchy tools” as I also like to call things that “serve me” as I give everything I find a name and an assignment to fulfill when each item has been dedicated. I’ve also found that a pendulum can tell you if the energy is positive or negative and depending on how you use that item it can be used to “help or to harm”. So far I only have a few items that have a very dark and negative energy about them and I put them on “protection duty” as they can keep other dark energies away but these also work for hexing and should be put away when not in use as they can attract chaos into your life. Witchcraft uses both the dark and the light, so don’t dismiss one for the other. A pendulum can show you over and over which is positive and which is negative; just ask it “show me -“ and the motion will indicate either end of the two polar opposites.
This was so enjoyable. I'm with you, I also love small pitchers. I have sooo many but use them all. Thrifting is a great way to repurpose items and keep them out of a landfill. Autumn blessings. 💜🍁💜
Wonderful collaboration! I love Bex and am very happy to be introduced to you and your channel. Great thrift haul! I really appreciate seeing the cleansing of the mirror, and LOVE that mini candelabra!
Your alter looks beautiful, I especially like the tea light holder, heart box and that mirror is gorgeous! Just subscribed to your channel, more thrift hauls please fabulous! X
all of the items you found are absolute gems!! i wish my goodwill had a better variety of items. you'd occasionally find something pretty, but that's the beauty of thrifting, you don't know what you'll find! anyway, loved your video xx
I enjoyed this very much 😊There is such a good feeling when you find a beautiful second or third or fourth hand item and put it to good use. I am on a road trip and looking forward to a little thrifting. I loved the music you chose. Thanks so much for taking the time to make this video Love your Beautiful finds ! Enjoy ! PS You and Bex are both Wonderful 💘💘
I was so so happy to see you two team up I love both of your channels, and this subject is something I talk about a lot on my channel! I love finding items to use in a sacred way at thrift shops and often share my hauls so this was so wonderful to watch xx
I also came from the witches cookery because I watch both of you guys I have learnt so much more about witchcraft and I feel that I have become so much more of a better witch so thank you soooooo much😊
I always am on the hunt for things I can use in my practice! I am a charm reader as well. My best find was an antique accordion coin purse. I only use a certain sized charm. I "spin" the purse and I read the charms. They have always been spot on for me.
Such a beautiful collaboration...I love both of your channels so much! 🖤 💫 Theres so many gorgeous things at that thrift shop...I loved everything you showed us and especially love the mirror 😊
Ahhh I LOVE thrifting! My current obsessions are mugs, anything celestial, wall art, blankets, books... basically the entire thrift store 🙈. The music you had in the background of this video was absolutely perfect 👌
I'm here from the Witch's cookery too, your channel is great! I wonder how many witches just love tiny things, I can't leave thrift shops without little boxes 😅
Hi Veda.Again l learned so so much from you about the thrifting and cleansing. Your videos are a blessing to watch and so calming to learn from. Please keep them coming .Lv Nina xxx xxx 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Can you tell me the name of this thrift store? (& maybe the location if you want) stickers kinda look like savers. But that orderly organization and massive beautiful selection is like something from my dreams. Literally I have dreams about shopping in places like that.
What a blessing to get to know your channel through Bex 🥰 I’m loving this dark academia aesthetic you’ve embraced. After watching both videos my wallet is itching for a day trip for some thrifting tomorrow!! Thanks for sharing your day!
I love thrifting!! I go as much as I can and if I go to different cities, I always look for a thrift shop. Have found books that generally cost an arm and a leg.
Many thanks to becks for putting me on to your channel, I will definitely be keeping an eye on thrift stores or charity shops we call them in England...blessings.🖤🍏
I think thrifting is a wonderful way to find things for our altars. However, I would encourage everyone to research the stores you decide to give your money to. For instance, Goodwill is known for paying their disabled workers less than minimum wage under Section 14(c) of the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938. They claim that if they didn't pay them, that these people would be considered unemployable. The lowest paid worker received just $1.40. They are trying to justify paying disabled employees slave wages. Meanwhile, they reported $6.1 Billion in revenue in 2018.
Yes. If you check the charity ratings site, goodwill is ranked poorly. They really are for profit, not "non-profit." That being said. They are the only thrift stores near me, so... 🫤
Such beautiful finds! I love old items so much and need to manifest a bigger place, so I can buy more of them aha. Your energy is so soothing, it even made the sun come out while I was watching your video. :')
I figured out a few years ago that thrift stores and antique shops are a gold mine for witchy stuff. Two of my latest finds for my altar was a cast iron deer's head and a hand carved statuette of a medieval lady that looks very heavily inspired by the RWS 9 of Pentacles figure except her gown is blue and red like many figures of Mother Mary interestingly. It appears to be very very old too.
Omg I love thrift shopping also ! Funny I bought like 3 or 4 items last week similar to ones you shown in the video ! The ones you ended up buying are such my style as well 💜💜💜
Your videos are so soothing and relaxing to watch (as well as informative). I always feel inspired after watching them! So...thank you for that. Hope all is well. Happy Autumn.
I dont believe in any deities n never even as a small child did. I believe in the all mother n revere her. I consider myself a green/kitchen witch. Im so glad that there are so many witchy channels. I learn so much.
I'm feeling a bit out of it for the season. But this inspired me to finally check out the thrift stores around me (I moved recently and have been hesitant to go)
As someone who's always loved plundering through thrifts, antique shops and flea markets, especially for magical use goodies, this was most enjoyable!
Awwww thank you so much for this incredibly sweet shout-out ❤️ I feel very honoured! That is the cleanest, most organized and varied thrift store I believe I’ve ever seen in my life. Ours are so chaotic and junky. 😅
Everything you said! 👌
It felt like a dream.
Really really love everything about this! 🖤 Especially when you showed how you cleansed and incorporated your thrifted items into your craft. Thank you! ✨
