@@Mr.Suicidal it wasn’t reversed. It was going so fast it broke earth magnetic fields witch mad it slow and make it look reversed. But it was actually just going about 100 miles per hour or 2 miles per second (I mean the gun spinning not it shooting)

What I love about this is that the mechanism is so simple. It's just spinning the chain. The pieces are automatically fired by the slope on top.

@@theodorehazel6920the darts are fired by the spring in the block, not the force from the motor. Increasing the motor speed increases the fire rate but it doesn't make the darts shoot further than if you just triggered them manually.

It's just the shutter speed of the camera. I can do the same thing with my ceiling fan and a strobe light. Turn the lights off and change the speed of the strobe light and you can get the fan to appear moving forwards, backwards, or stay still.

Favorite part of the video besides the sound in the second slow mo portion.
Technically the illusion is caused by the frame rate of the camera/video being slower than the speed of the chain, but I'm not trying to be the "akshually" guy lol. Just thought I'd add some info for anyone who doesn't know how that illusion works. I also think it looks really cool.

This was the comment I was looking for lol
For anyone who doesn't understand how this is shooting, you need to watch part 2 for a demonstration. The gun mechanism is not shooting the darts. The chain is holding parts I'd never seen before which are dart shooting blocks that have a spring inside. You flick the end to trigger the dart to fire. The darts hit the sloping block on top to trigger them and the spring in the chain mounted block shoots the dart.
The dart cannon block with the spring is in one of the newer star wars tie fighter sets, I'm not too sure where else but it's in that one
it's been in star wars sets for many years, at-te, at-at, gunship, coruscant guard, starfighters, tie fighter, in many diff colors

Going so fast the belt feed appears to change direction Midway through the ammunition. I realize this is also a framerate issue, so in real life it probably doesn't appear to be going THAT fast, but it's still pretty impressive regardless of the videos framerate.

I love the design of this. The only thing I would change is the ramp that fires the sticks. If you rotated it 90* so the studs get pushed forward, instead of down, it might run a little smoother or shoot harder.

You know it's fast when the chain seems to go in reverse.
You could easily add a trigger function to this that pulls the chain into the firing mechanism, and pushes it out when the trigger isn't being pulled; this would make it so that you can spin up the weapon without unloading the belt, and allow for shorter bursts of fire!
