Hello, My LaserJet 1020 work fine alomost 5 years untill now they have problem when they load second page (A4) about 40-50% of page size and stuck with red light display (paper jam). I remove paper and try to reprint again and they have same problem every time when I print more than 1 page. I tried to reinstall driver (or any methods that I can try except unpack the printer) please help me to solve this issue thank you
Let's try these steps to reset: 1. Press the Power button to turn on the product. 2. With the product turned on , disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product. 3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. 4. Wait at least 15 seconds. 5. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet. 6. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product. 7. If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
Thanks! This has been a great printer. For some reason, it grabbed about 15-20 sheets and tried to run them all through at once, obviously causing a jam. This was the first time this had ever happened. Cleared it out following this video. I hope this was just a one-time occurrence! All seems fine now. Thanks again for the video.
OHHHH.....so you just REMOVE the paper jam! I see.....why didnt I think of that?! Oh wait....since a small piece of dust will cause it to lock up forever....I am stuck having to throw your crappy equipment away EVERY TIME I get a paper jam...how nice!

you DID NOT mention what to do when you CAN NOT pull the paper out from the top/cartdrige area (no paper margins available to grab on to). In this case one needs to power off, take out cartrige and all and then look inside down to the two (left/right) blockers/levers for the paper roll and push with both hands... then someone else must grab the sheet with two hands and pull it gently back. Hope it helps someone.

Should I buy a new printer cartridge, this is a ten year old printer but with very little use. Should I just give up and buy a new one. Hi, I have a HP LaserJet 1022 and the attention light has been blinking but nothing else happened. There was no sound when it is turned on just the blinking attention light. HELLO.The problem is the printer fell down a few days ago and damaged probably .It worked very well few days but then started saying of paper jam though it is not one (in the real sense). Then I carry out all the steps but it still does not. If it does-one in ten tries- then the jam comes again once printing stops. Tom Gumpel If you are sure there is still a piece of paper stuck in the printer I can only recommend that you continue to look till you find it. If you think you may have gotten it all unplug the printer from the wall and hold down the power button for a minute before plugging it back in to see if you can clear the error.

Paper Jam problem are so common problem and this video is beneficial for all HP users but I was facing same problem when I was in college then I was searching many website and finally I got a solution in Printer Technical Support Forum website. It cleared my all issues in a simple way.
Hi Law. Does the printer or your computer state that it is unavailable? Let's try a hard reset on the printer. If you search for C03177455 on HP's home page or using Google search it will give you the instructions on how to do this. I would also restart your computer when you do this. The combination of the two should make the printer available again.
Hi Kelly Ann, It sounds like there is a tiny bit of paper/debris stuck inside the printer causing the paper to skew. Please search for C00311028 on HP’s home page or using Google search. It is the paper jam document. I would recommend that you start with ‘Step six: Clean the cartridge area’ but use a flashlight to look around the inside of the printer to ensure there isn’t any debris (dust bunnies can be enough of a debris to cause the paper to skew).

Please follow the troubleshooting steps in the "A 'Paper jam' Message Displays for HP LaserJet 1018, 1018s, 1020, and 1020 Plus Printers" document ( ow.ly/VA2Ax ). Once completing those steps we should have the answer on whether it is a hardware or software issue.

Paper Jam problem are so common problem and this video is beneficial for all HP users but I was facing same problem when I was in college then I was searching many website and finally I got a solution in Printer Technical Support Forum website. It cleared my all issues in a simple way.

yes, our hp 1010 always jam when it feed the 3rd paper letter size and when we use legal size paper it takes 30% chance to jam.

Hi Law. Does the printer or your computer state that it is unavailable? Let's try a hard reset on the printer. If you search for C03177455 on HP's home page or using Google search it will give you the instructions on how to do this. I would also restart your computer when you do this. The combination of the two should make the printer available again.
I'm trying to print and it is printing crooked. I can't seem to figure out how to fix it. Help.

It sounds like there is a tiny bit of paper/debris stuck inside the printer causing the paper to skew. Please search for C00311028 on HP’s home page or using Google search. It is the paper jam document. I would recommend that you start with ‘Step six: Clean the cartridge area’ but use a flashlight to look around the inside of the printer to ensure there isn’t any debris (dust bunnies can be enough of a debris to cause the paper to skew).

Gurvynder Singh Have you followed the steps in the video? If you have and you are still having the same problem I recommend you call HP Technical Support as your printer may need to be serviced.
HP 1020 LaserJet : i purchased it today during printing i have inserted a poor quality paper and it jammed inside , i manually tried to bring out , but small part of paper is still remaining inside where i can not insert my hand ..is there any way to take it out ?? Thanks in advance
