I really appreciate this information. I am looking to become a Permanent Makeup Artist and have didn't know what questions to ask. I feel much more confident now! Liked and subscribed! Thank you.
This was so helpful for me as a new ombré artist! Everything you said is so true!! I wasted over $1,000 and have yet to regain my investment back. Ive spent quite a few $$ in colors, more items I need to even start brows.. I’ve only did three sets of brows and still don’t feel confident with myself to do brows. My trainer was not helpful at all after the course…I’ve had trouble with color theory and the needle lengths😩
I did my own microshading and lips tattoo by just watching the videos. My lips are in the process of healing now. It was terrifying but I made it through
Excellent video and excellent points! I hope anyone that is interested takes into account everything Judy says and finds an artist to actually LEARN from! Great job, Judy!

You may have already answered this question. But I know in the tattoo industry a lot of artists who don't have tattoos get crap from the other artists and I'm just curious if you would recommend getting permanent makeup done before or while studying
i know plenty of artists who don't have permanent makeup done because they don't need it. i would not succumb to peer pressure if it's not something you want. it is a tattoo after all and should not be taken lightly.
So glad I came across this before I invested into a pmu course. I will be asking which machine they provide as part of my selective process. Which machine and needle is this again?

@@kindofyoung Yes, a microblading course that’s worth your time should be longer than 1-2 days. If a class is only 1-2 days, and especially if you don’t already work in this industry, you’ll need to take more classes because a lot of insurance companies will require proof that you have done these classes. Oh yeah, you also need at least general liability insurance to legally be able to perform permanent makeup. Not to mention finding and paying rent for a place to work, dealing with the IRS in order to be able to apply for insurance, registering with your county for a practitioner permit, health permit, and business licensing that most places in the US also require for you to operate legally. Having a good , experienced trainer is detrimental because you the best guidance comes from someone who’s already done everything you need to do to. Thats what I wish someone would have told me.

Hi Janine in California you do not need an esthetician license. If you are already tattooing you should have a body art license which should be good enough to do cosmetic tattooing but please check with your city and county just to be sure.
