I just bought the Ultra 1 for £600. Hopefully, it should be a noticeable upgrade from the 2nd Gen Apple Watch.

The visual difference to tell them apart is at 2:50 where you can see the older model has a smaller opening for the wheel. Could just be the way it's sitting but that's the only thing I can tell that's actually different looking.
I’m really torn which model I want. A part of me doesn’t justify the price for the ultra 2 when it’s very very close to the first generation. But at the same time I like the idea of purchasing the ‘new’ model.
I've seen some places drop the Ultra 2 to $700 and places that still sell the Ultra 1 for $600
If you have the ultra 1 already I wouldn't upgrade, but if you have one of the much older series I'd get the ultra 2 - my ultra 1 is a year old now and still does exactly what I need it to do perfectly

I’m still rocking the Apple Watch series 4 since 2018 when it came out
That's what I have now, I bought a used stainless steel for $180 in 2020 to replace my OG Apple Watch from 2015 after the screen started falling off.
Same I have the series 4 but I ran a couple races and realized that my watch has my minute per mile pace about 20-30 seconds higher than what I’m actually running 😅

I ended up getting the ultra 475$ looks brand new. I had the series 7 givin it to my partner. Currently own the Gear 6 really dislike it. Very pleased with my Ultra 1
Great breakdown on the key differences between the two watches. I'm still using my Apple Watch Series 4 from 2019 and the Ultra 2 looks like an amazing watch upgrade.

Fun fact the “quick action” feature has been out for years, apple just started to advertise it now for some reason but you should be able to use it on almost all Apple Watches.

Yeah, it's called Lumy. I enjoy using it to see how much time is left for "golden hour" in case I am shooting some video or photo. Best time of day!
Just got an Ultra 1 for $400, it’s a definite upgrade from the SE 2020!
Same here Amazon has them cheap, found a “renewed” one and it came looking very brand new zero scratches or dents with 100% battery health and original bands. For $489. I like it it’s nice

Up to 3 days without charging....wao I have the Ultra 2 And I'm fighting for 2 days of battery.
Using low battery mode helps get that extra bump of life 🔋🙌🏽

I found the Apple Watch Ultra 1 for $600, it's open-box excellent condition though. I think I'll do it. I got my iPad open box excellent condition and it's been flawless.
Edit: I currently don't have a watch at all.

Didn'r upgrade, just bought the Ultra 2, now I have the 1 and 2. Love the real estate.
it also doesn't scratch nearly as eaily as any other apple watch I had, granted I always picked up the cheap aluminum ones.
I upgraded my U1 to the U2 and have no regrets. Why? I think we’re beginning to see what Apple is doing in terms of innovation and I think it’s clear that the Watch has pretty much developed as far as it’s going to go. Don’t get me wrong, there will be minor additions like blood pressure and maybe even eventually blood glucose readings. These will likely be general readings as in your glucose is increasing/decreasing, etc. without giving actual numbers. These are helpful but very limited. This being the case, I'm not sure there's going to be any new "I've got to get a new Apple Watch!" Going forward.
As a result of this I decided to get the U2 because of the new chip and 64GB of storage and let this be my final Apple Watch for the duration. At least until there’s a real reason to upgrade. I was given $410 for my U1 which reduced my cost for the U2 by half. The new chip will future proof the U2 for quite awhile and concerning performance, it’s a watch…it does all the current functions very well and does it’s main function, it tells time! Because the battery is so good, I find I can leave my iPhone 13Mini at home and just take my U2! I do wish it would connect to CarPlay but maybe someday it will. The U2 also gets a brighter screen though the U1 was bright enough. In short, the U2 is an upgrade though not a dramatic one but if like me you plan on sticking with an Ultra, then the U2 is the one to be stuck with! U2 for the duration!
I had the same train of thought as yours. I was thinking of buying a new AW and was torn between the U1 and U2 because of the price difference. I ultimately chose the U2 because of the On-device Siri (same as latest iPhone Pros), right now it sounds silly but with the upcoming Apple’s AI updates that requires that chip to work, the U2 feels future proofing.
I love the battery life and the fact i can answer my phone and hold a conversation through it

At the moment very minimal lol but when I do use it for working out, I could do at least two 30-60 min workouts and about 36 hours later I’d be at ~20% or less

how easy is to scracth a titan body?
It holds up well. I have the Ultra 1 and I work construction and bang it all the time. Very minor surfaces scratches that aren’t even noticeable unless you stare super hard and even then it’s almost unnoticeable

My series 5 have Siri on the watch I’m confused
You won't need your iPhone nearby to interact with Siri if its a command that does not require an internet connection (ex: start a workout, set a timer, etc)
Previous Apple Watches need to have an internet connection to process these type of commands.
