Fascinating - I've seen the film shown at the start of this video, but with an Englishman narrating, and it's an hour long. The version included here is trimmed at 44 minutes.
I think foolish is harsh, maybe naive or perhaps hopeful that being open would be an eye opener for all. He definitely overestimated human goodness and that we may learn from history.

I agree, brilliant, but he acted foolish or perhaps he was naive to think he could write that book and not have backlash from the spooks.
