"Learn how to run your stuff." Exactly, great video. Heard the DRM's at NAMM, sounded great, talked with a few Mackie people there that hinted to me that they're 'a lot' better than recent Mackies. Hopefully their back to putting out higher end gear again. Time will tell, not much out about the series yet - thanks for the video!
I’m completely with you on “bring what is needed and don’t overkill it “ I have three different size speakers for six different set up combinations. The mackie set up looks great and I’m sure it sounds magnificent, but convince me with running amp built in vs. amp on a rack? Amps in a rack- one audio cable for each speaker. Built in amp- one audio AND power cable and an outlet for each one. I can’t see how they are better especially when you start to have more than two speakers. Like 4or6.
I loved the ending, really cool. That's the sweeter part of it all, when everyone gets their check 💰 for the job well done. Much love to you and Blake. Lucky - South Africa 🎬
I'm into audio and your videos make me extremely eexcited. Love your professionalism and overall helpful attitude. I'll have questions in the future as I have tons Of questions. Keep the videos coming. Very very Informative.
I've work on one very small Stageline but never needed to rent one yet. Great video WOO PIG! I still have a pair of Mackie SRM 650 which have a good angle to use as floor wedges.
Love your videos John! I use the JBL prx 815 and 818 system along with soundcraft and for the money I love em!! I'm using it for an outdoor theater and sound business down here in Leland MS. This new powered stuff is so much easier than the old days! Would love to come up and hang out with you guys sometime. Maybe one day I'll be able to do this full time-wishful thinking!
Great advice you gave, bring the right rig for the gig. My friends just played a local festival at a large local park. The production company brought nice stage, lights, computer screens for behind bands on on the sides, but they screwed up royally on the sound. The seating area for the stage was not that big and it was on 10' from the stage. The PA had an entire row of sub's lining the front of the stage, the off to the side of the stage wider than the seating area they were flying line arrays of speakers. Way over kill for the actually seating area. When the bands played the sound in the seating area was totally bass and mushy midrange, every now and then a lead instrument would cause the high end to wake up some. Sound company was blowing the sound over the seating area, walk out of the seating area and further into the park the sound was good. I me this might of worked if they had put some front fill speakers in front of the stage so seating area would get mid's and high's, but as it was they got hammer with bass and muddy mid's. So yes, bring the right gear for the gig, and maybe have a few extra boxes on the truck in case you need to throw up some front fills.
Great segment kind sir...Watched this while I ate a late dinner and this was not a difficult vid log to follow. Small but powerful for its size. And well said about rolling out what will do the job vs what you need. Spot on brah...spot on....Salute!!! Keep the energy going...Blake is a cool as fuck dude btw...
I've been eyeing these new Mackie boxes, so I'm excited to know what you think. It's too bad they didn't send any of the constant curvature boxes from this line.
I got three towns right now I do smaller town festivals I run 2 sets of 12's that is passive speaker and 7000 watts total peak this winter I am investing in a set of 3 ways not sure what brand it doesn't matter but I want a high spl level speaker cabinet looking at Peavey or qsc I got 14 yrs running live sound but i am always learning also . You quit learning you need to quit this profession the way it changes overnight you got to Evolve or die.
It’s a shame that RUclipsrs get free promotional gear and they give the gear the best review ever. Meanwhile, us non-youtubers will have to buy everything out of pocket to support our DJ business and subcontracting gigs.

Nothing works unless you do!
Man you put out a lot of quality content and info, thanks. Hopefully someday I’ll be doing that in my city which lacks a lot of quality productions.
Love Mackie gear, but their customer service is none existing. Will keep buying their gear though. :) Great gig, killed it!

Thank you for the information
What are your opinions on the Chauvet Intimidator Spot 110s? I am a dj and looking for some new budget moving heads-would you recommend them?
I've been eyeing these new Mackie boxes, so I'm excited to know what you think. It's too bad they didn't send any of the constant curvature boxes from this line.
Nice Video! Which sub do you like more, the ekx 18 or the mackie sub? And which one is louder?
What was the coverage pattern like? I’m seriously considering these ....
You should look into Funktion One, get a few Res 2's or 5's for smaller gigs (Or larger if you bring a few) best audio quality there is
Function One 😂😂 they cost 30k + for one top and a sub. Cant compare Function One to Mackie. And Function Onare are for festivals.

Hey John! Check out PK Sound Trinity 10.... They would be a great investment for the bigger shows.
Man I was just looking for a $200 sound system for my bedroom, why the fuck am I watching this.
Those RUclips algorithms will get you dog!
you can run 2-way or 3-way line array ground stacks, tuning is the key. Learn how to tune, take advise from engineers that are willing to help you.
I’ve watched 2 videos and in both it has rained on my man John Simmons. Mother Nature is cruel

Why don’t you start your own channel?
I hate the stickers
Any company that sends you speakers for free knows their products are SHIT!
Cool, I guess I’ll just not waste my time on the RCF’s sitting in the boxes. You want them?
John Simmons I paid for a 315 and it sounded like shit. Clipped way early, barely got loud, came dented too
