Actually the beauty of building in a container is it is a global standard module. You can find similar container delivery services pretty much anywhere because of this. I think this is what makes container houses/data-centers/etc such a cool item - they are mobile. You could take that house, get it onto a cargo boat, to anywhere in the world and delivered. I hope your eye surgery is healing well and your back to normal Courtney. On the snoring it gets worse when you get older. I figured out and was right on why you lived in the container house. You all think out of the box and do such a great job of it. Your ideas are so well planned
Thank you John, I am mostly healed and ready to get back to work! Living tiny has been so great for us and we don't see a reason to go back to big any time soon!
Really looking forward to seeing what your workshop/house will look like. I'm getting to a point where I'm able to buy or build a house and the idea of a giant workshop with a small apartment has been flying around for a while now. Two boys instead of two dogs makes it a bit more complicated, as does the insane housing market where I live. It has to make financial sense as well, ie. grow in value, and that might be the most complicated part of the whole deal.
After the past few years of working out of a 2 car garage and mostly in a driveway the thought of having a shop makes us SO excited! The appreciation and marketability of one doesn't make sense in a lot of places, but it does seem in Idaho there is more of a demand for that type of structure.

I`m glad you eye is getting better. That was a nice trailer that guy used to pick up your mini house, which was also very nice. You two are doing it right, as far as getting debt free and building as you go. If you had your own construction company, it would take all your time. The channel must give you enough to servive with comfort. I can`t wait to see what materials you use and the style and size of the shop-house. Don`t forget to put in at least one very tall overhead door. I also incorperated 3 hoist points in the trusses and insulated real well for the heat and ac. The thing i regret not putting in is anchor points in the concrete floor. I should have put in one at each corner and one on each side one in front and back. That way you can secure anything to work on or pull in any direction. A walk in pit or car/truck hoist is a must, my opinion. Don`t forget a large deck off the living quarters to enjoy the view. Take care
A hoist system in the ceiling is a great idea! Especially because I don't think a forklift is going to be in the budget for quite awhile. Hi Jake! Riley unhooked all the plumbing and electrical before the truck arrived. He also cut the welds that were holding it to the foundation. Thanks for watching!
I really like this tiny house, I've never seen that on the channel befor and I wonder why you didn't show the building process? that was a great project
Not sure if this has been mentioned before but, I’m trying to watch your episodes in order. Maybe I’m just inept, but it would be nice if your episodes were numbered. I’m still trying to find the video of how you solved the poured concrete floor in your new home/shop in Idaho. Haven’t been able to locate that one yet. Don’t get me wrong, love your content and love narrative that includes your mistakes and shortfalls. I’ve been watching almost incessantly as I am trying to keep up with your story. I can relate to many of your ideas and issues in dealing with them, so I love what you’re doing. Is there a way to watch your progress in order? I haven’t quite found that yet.
Hi there! The reason you can’t find that video is because we haven’t poured concrete yet! 😳 The easiest way to watch our videos in order is to go here and sort by “date published”. ruclips.net/p/PLMCvRxq4Qdce0h_gLOfXjt7cTErNT6FfB
@@AmbitionStrikes thank you. That is exactly what I have been referring to as I watch what you do and your progress. It just seems a little vague as you post a lot of content, which btw is awesome! Thanks for replying. It just felt like you went through all that work to prep for the concrete and then, it dropped off. Love what you are doing btw. Pretty much jealous. Keep up your great work. I love the solar install btw. So awesome!!! Happy for you!
@@AmbitionStrikes could you start numbering them? I am not super tech savvy a little bit old school. I really like chapters as they are part of a story… just askin’ is all. You two are amazing! Love your chemistry and your drive. Keep up the great work! Very inspiring
Not trying to offend you at all. Just comparing a little to KYD. Which as you most likely know is one of the most successful RUclips channels out there. Listing by episode or chapter could possibly help you in your pursuits. Personally, I love what you’re doing and it might possibly be on the same scale as KYD. Just sayin’
Wow. I'd expect you to be a little bit sad about your "baby" going away but I understand that excitement of the future won over it. :) I was just wondering what was your total cost of the house and what have you sold it for? (I guess you won't share the numbers, but I tried. :D) And one more question - how was the moving of the house? Any cracks or anything negative from lifting and/or bumps on the road? I was always wondering, if the container itself has enough structural integrity once there are holes cut for the windows and doors and you have (had) two BIG sliding windoors so it looks like containers are very, VERY solid despite cuts made into them. PS: "debt free" is a HUGE thing, I'm stoked! Take care guys.
We have so much fun building things that we usually find the sale of something thrilling. It means we can finally get started on the next thing we have been dreaming of. To our surprise the container made it to its new home completely intact. Even the concrete countertops and tile work made it safely! The trailer had air ride which I think was key in the success.
I've been watching your vids for several days now and just have to ask - what do you do for living that you can afford to buy all the really expensive machinery while spending most of the time working the new property?
I'm not asking what you got for your home, but how you go about pricing something like that? It's very unique so I can't imagine there are many others to do price comparison with.
It was certainly hard! We looked at what we had into material costs and the amount of time it took to build. There is a local container supply that has built a few container homes for others and we were also able to use that as a baseline.
That's a great container home. And Courtney, is it possible for you not to put your feet over the explosive device in your dashboard? Do you know what that airbag going off under your feet could do to you? 😬 They've had some stories in the driving section of one of our newspapers up here (driving.ca), and you can end up seriously injured by the force of the airbag detonating. Just my two cents. Looking forward to seeing more work on the new place. Also, are you going to be bringing your goats and such to Idaho?
Probably not my best move, but my 6'2" legs get very uncomfortable when riding in the car... 😂 We will eventually move the goats up to Idaho once we have a place to move them to!

Hi Jake! Riley unhooked all the plumbing and electrical before the truck arrived. He also cut the welds that were holding it to the foundation. Thanks for watching!
I like this house very much, and the person who bought it is really lucky, because it is so worth owning!
Thank you so much! We hope it gives her many years of happiness!
That's a sweet tiny house!! But image how amazing your new shop will be!! :) hey, what did you end up naming your land and your dump truck?
We still haven't settled on a name for our land, but will be announcing the dump truck name very soon!
Congratulations 🎉 👏 🎉
Thank you!
Congratulations on the sell of the container house. Now to build a shop.
Yeah!!
Get well soon 🙏
Thank you!
Awesome is the word.Great driver and loader.
We could not believe how seamless and quick the delivery went!
wow very cool. good luck to you both
Thank you!
I really like this tiny house, I've never seen that on the channel befor and I wonder why you didn't show the building process? that was a great project
We built the container house before we realized how awesome sharing our adventures on RUclips could be so sadly we didn't document much of it!
@@AmbitionStrikes okay! you have great building skills you know, I like your adventures as well
Love the container house! So many good ideas! Also WTH did they put you on post surgery! 😂😂😂 you were tripping!
The home served us well and we can't wait to start designing the next one!
Is it bad that I don't remember what they gave me? 😂
@@AmbitionStrikes that’s called “they gave you the good good!”
hi ya hope everything goes well and best wishes for what's to come
Thank you!
Wow, nice, so how much did you sell the container house for?
That epic soundtrack when your tiny home was lifted onto the semi
It felt just as epic in person... 😉
Great channel guys👍🇬🇧
Thanks Rich!
Wow great job bro amazing small house
Keep it up bro
Thank you!
@@AmbitionStrikes Welcome
Just sayin’
Congrats wow...... great news. Takecare. God bless. Bye. 💝👍
Thank you!
So sad to see it go but it’s sale funds the building!
Exactly!
Way to go!
Another item off your checklist!
The list is simultaneously getting shorter and longer... 😂
Both 6'2"?! Damn American giants! (I'm Aussie)
Not to be nosy but what did you spend on building the container house and what did it sell for? I'm Interested in doing this for a living.
WOW, I've never seen one loaded like that,Awesome.
It was so fun to watch!
Don’t ever go to Whittier, Alaska, the tunnel is 2 miles long!
I've been watching your vids for several days now and just have to ask - what do you do for living that you can afford to buy all the really expensive machinery while spending most of the time working the new property?
Yes to the crane! I use mine frequently on the farmstead.
I don't think I have enough birthdays left in my life to buy myself all of the equipment I want... 😉
I’m 58 and still don’t have all the equipment I want/need but it’s getting close😏
One step closer....congrats
The list just got shorter and a lot longer... 😂
Err the King Bed is BS as they make different length King beds, as they do for all other beds. Just saying.
Wow, that’s really cool
It was so much fun to watch!
That's a great container home.
And Courtney, is it possible for you not to put your feet over the explosive device in your dashboard? Do you know what that airbag going off under your feet could do to you? 😬
They've had some stories in the driving section of one of our newspapers up here (driving.ca), and you can end up seriously injured by the force of the airbag detonating.
Just my two cents.
Looking forward to seeing more work on the new place.
Also, are you going to be bringing your goats and such to Idaho?
Probably not my best move, but my 6'2" legs get very uncomfortable when riding in the car... 😂
We will eventually move the goats up to Idaho once we have a place to move them to!
@@AmbitionStrikes I can sympathize - I'm 6'4".
